June 26, 2001 - MSNBC's Jeannette Walls reports Angelina Jolie's success in Tomb Raider is sparking increasing interest in tattoos. Tattoo parlors contacted by MSNBC said Jolie’s name comes up 'a lot' or 'frequently' among young female clients.

June 24, 2001 - US Weekly quotes Angelina talking about childhood aspirations, "When other little girls wanted to be ballet dancers, I kind of wanted to be a vampire."

June 24, 2001 - Angelina Jolie and brother James Haven Voight were outside of the premiere for Tomb Raider. US Weekly reports Angelina climbed over barricades to pose for photos and sign autographs for 1000s of fans that were gathered for the premiere. Angelina admitted, "When people come out and they're rooting for you, that's what we all need to do OK in life. It's a great feeling to be loved."

June 24, 2001 - Angelina Jolie tells Megastar, "Can you imagine that, Lara Croft as a lesbian? That would be a shock for the boys playing with their joysticks in their bedrooms around the world."

June 23, 2001 - Angelina Jolie talked to Esquire on the effects of her bungee jumping scenes in Tomb Raider on her privates saying, "After a week it got a little sore, so the stunt crew made me a fur-lined harness. It was a joke, but I'm taking it home and I'll see what Billy and I can do with it."

June 20, 2001 - IMDB reports Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton have an electric chair in the dining room of their new home. Angelina explained the chair saying, "In [Tomb Raider], Lara has an electric chair in her bedroom, which is my own personal little thing I thought she should have. Billy did a film where he played a barber and was electrocuted. So there's probably going to be a barber's chair at one end of the dining room and an electric chair at the other."

June 20, 2001 - Angelina Jolie dismissed the thought that the recent move of women in action films was socially motivated saying, "I don't think it's any great movement in society. One type of thing works, so you start to do more and more of them. I think it's just how Hollywood works."

June 20, 2001 - Angelina Jolie skyrocketed up the Lycos 50 this week to #6, making her the most searched for actress on the net for the week.

June 20, 2001 - CNN.com has an audio review (a negative one) of Tomb Raider by reviewers Peter Travers and Lisa Schwarzbaum. The audio has since been removed.

June 19, 2001 - IMDB reports Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie have secretly renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony in their kitchen, where the two cut each other's fingers and sucked each other's blood. Their ceremony was conducted by a Church of Enlightenment minister.

June 18, 2001 - Tomb Raider came in at #1 on at the box office with a weekend tally of $48.2 million, trouncing Disney's Atlantis which took in $20.4 million.

June 18, 2001 - PageSix.com reports while critics generally trashed Tomb Raider many praised Angelina Jolie's performance. "Angelina was an absolutely superb choice," said Rob Friedman, vice chairman of the motion-picture group at Paramount, which released Tomb Raider. "She was amazing in the role and worked harder than any person I've ever seen in physical fitness and on the set."

June 16, 2001 - The New York Post's Liz Smith said Friday, "If I see one more magazine cover with Angelina Jolie posed showing something she should probably keep private and with the word 'SEX' emblazoned in the headline, I may go bonkers."

June 16, 2001 - Angelina Jolie tells the London Telegraph she wore a padded bra for Tomb Raider saying, "Look at her breasts, they’re ridiculous. I’ll make it real simple for you. I’m a 36C. In the game she’s a double D. In the movie she’s a D. We split the difference."

June 15, 2001 - MSNBC's Jeannette Walls reports Angelina Jolie's breasts as Lara Croft were of paramount importance during the filming of Tomb Raider as director Simon West claimed, "There were some long discussions about the breasts since they’re such a complete part of Lara’s persona and we had to make all sorts of decisions about them."

June 15, 2001 - Foxnews.com's Roger Friedman blasted Tomb Raider saying the movie "is simply the work of people who wanted that Indiana Jones feeling, without having a feeling for it. Please: Go to a barbecue, read a book, learn to scuba. But stay far, far away." Read more.

June 14, 2001 - Access Hollywood reported that Angelina met the writer of her Entertainment Weekly cover story wearing nothing but a bedsheet.

June 14, 2001 - Angelina Jolie is on the cover of this week's Rolling Stone and making headlines on every entertainment show/website by the shocking revelation that she hired a hitman to kill her during a bout of depression in college. Jolie says, "This is going to sound insane, but there was a time I was going to hire somebody to kill me. The person spoke very sweetly to me, he made me think about it for a month. And, after a month, other things     changed in my life and I was surviving again. With suicide comes all the guilt of people around you thinking they could have done something. With somebody being murdered, nobody takes some kind of guilty responsibility."

June 14, 2001 - Angelina Jolie tells the Toronto Sun, "I feel that if there is any kind of energy for me, it's because people know that I am extremely human."

June 14, 2001 - TVGuide.com talked to Angelina Jolie about Tomb Raider where she revealed, "When I was in training, there was one night I was sitting in the bathtub with all my bruises and a little cut knee crying, 'What am I doing? I'm not going to be able to pull this off.' But it's a great feeling to be physical. It helps with my fearlessness - and I've always been ridiculously fearless."

June 14, 2001 - The Sun reports Angelina has a tattoo on her stomach which reads ‘Quod me nutrit me destruit’ - 'That which feeds me destroys me’.

June 14, 2001 - IMDB.com reports on comments from Tomb Raider director Simon West was shocked at the turnout to the movie's premiere and said, "It's fantastic, it makes all the hard work worthwhile. Usually you're on your own up to your eyes in muck and bugs and now there's a million people wanting to see the film. I think Angelina's life is going to change. She is Lara Croft now, she's going to be in trouble."

June 12, 2001 - Those trying to log into the Tomb Raider premiere online at the movie's official site hopefully didn't have as many problems as I did. Every attempt to log in brought errors, likely because of heavy traffic.

Ted says "How do you look first thing upon wakening, before you've had the benefit of all the luxuries modern bathrooms provide? The point is, stars have their bad times and good times, just like the rest of us."

June 6, 2001 - Megastar reports on Angelina talking about her character in Tomb Raider saying, "You're expecting that they are going to see you as this character they love. You'd better earn that and you should work your butt off and be her. If you fake it you shouldn't be allowed to carry the name."

June 5, 2001 - A very casually dressed Angelina Jolie, taped on her birthday, was on Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight yesterday and we have transcripts from both the ET and AH appearances.

June 3, 2001 - Lara Croft, Tomb Raider: The Official Film Companion includes Angelina talking about her ex playing the Tomb Raider game saying, "It is true that Jonny played the game [Tomb Raider] nonstop, and I ended up hating Lara because she was keeping him up all night and not me! But getting revenge on Jonny certainly wasn't the reason I took the role."

June 1, 2001 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports on Angelina and Billy Bob being seen at the United Airlines' Red Carpet Lounge at LAX. Billy Bob was looking ill and leaning heavily on her arm.
