July 31, 2003 - The Chicago Sun-Times reports that sources working on 'Taking Lives' have confirmed that Angelina Jolie and Olivier Martinez are quietly dating, though representatives of the actors continue to deny any romance--merely ''a wonderful, professional, working relationship between two actors who respect each other and have become friends ... nothing more.'' According to sources on the set, Olivier's "would be ex" Kylie Minogue was continuously phoning Martinez on his cell phone--once she began hearing tales of a possible dalliance with Jolie.

July 31, 2003 - Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Monday, "In the latest issue of Rolling Stone, Angelina Jolie says she is looking for a man like Lawrence of Arabia. That's the kind of guy she wants. Which is quite a change, considering her last guy was Billy Bob of Arkansas."

July 27, 2003 - The New York Daily News hears that Kylie Minogue has taken an interest in reports that her boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, is spending a lot of time with co-star Angelina Jolie on the Montreal set of her movie 'Taking Lives'. "Kylie is worried," a source revealed. "She got two-timed by her boyfriend James Gooding and she doesn't want to go through it again."

He says, "The film falls apart in its last half-hour, when Croft and Co. end up in what looks like Peter Jackson's Mordor (and battle tree-monsters, to boot). But by then the film has already entertained more than most blockbusters."

July 24, 2003 - Angelina Jolie tells Reuters Lady Croft does not have to be "anti-man" to be a strong woman. "She's very sexual and she's very sensual but she doesn't use it to win," Jolie said. "She's strong enough. And I think she's very complete as a woman because she's a lady and she's intelligent but she's also able to get dirty and wild. July 23, 2003 - USA Today reports Angelina Jolie couldn't stifle a chuckle when asked how her tough heroine Lara Croft differs from the underperforming Angels of Full Throttle fame. "I don't want to criticize anyone else, because those girls are great," said Jolie, who admitted she hadn't seen the Charlie's Angels sequel. "But I think that's more of a bright, wild, fun movie, whereas Lara is more of an adventurer and a warrior. She's not a girly-girl who uses her sexuality in any way to win a fight. July 22, 2003 - As a Goodwill Ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Angelina Jolie has visited war zones in the Balkans and Sierre Leone, and toured refugee camps from Pakistan to Tanzania. "She is extremely committed," UNHCR spokesman Pierre Bernard Le Bas told The New York Post from Geneva. "When we first got in touch with her in 2001, she insisted she wanted to learn first about the plight of refugees before being able to speak about it. She also insisted on visiting the places - she went to Sierra Leone and Tanzania first, and then she wanted to learn even more."
