is telling Russia's Sport-Klub magazine that she wasn't impressed with
Prince Andrew when the two met last summer, saying there conversation didn't
get further than "the weather in London." Anna also said being a successful,
wealthy teenager is making her lonely admitting, "I do have friends, but
not many." As far as rumored romances Kournikova said, "I'll tell you one
thing - if a paper or magazine publishes my picture with someone, do not
think it's my boyfriend or a close pal. I know a lot of celebritites, but
that doesn't mean I have private relations with them."

Open today to Lindsay Davenport 6-4, 6-2.

was fined $2,000 for being coached from the stands by her mother Alla during
her third round win over doubles partner Barbara Schett of Austria on Friday,
according to Australian Open tournament referee Peter Bellenger.

was involved in a security scare on Monday when a flare was thrown on to
court by a 15 year old boy during her doubles match with Barbara Schett.
Anna said afterwards she wasn't worried, "Everything is fine. I think the

squared off against her doubles partner, Barbara Schett, Friday in the
third round of the Australian Open. Anna won in three sets 2-6 6-4 6-3.

is featured in a pair of ebay autographed picture auctions. The first shows
Anna in tight pants, item #544438635, which is unbid at $19.99 and ends
January 27th. The other is a match photo, item #543541931, which is bid
at $18.99 and ends January 26th.
January 13, 2001 - Anna won
in straight sets in the first round against Elena Bovinva at the Sydney
International at Homebush Bay Tuesday 6-4 6-4. Anna then lost in the second
round of the Sydney International against unseeded Corina Morariu Wednesday
6-2 6-1.
January 13, 2001 - Anna Kournikova
again was denied a tour victory in Hong Kong losing to Jelena Dokic 7-6
(7-3) 6-3 at Watson's Water tournament final last Sunday. Anna's was shown
whining about a sideline call.

Daily Mirror reports Anna Kournikova was furious Miami model Chanin Owens
was her stand-in at a Lycos Fantasy Sports commercial shoot saying, "I
don't want my body to be portrayed by that skinny bitch!"
January 7, 2001 - Anna Kournikova
won her semifinal match against Jennifer Capriati 3-6 7-5 6-0 at the Watson's
Water Challenge tennis tournament held in Hong Kong. Anna also is pictured
at a press conference before the tournament.
January 7, 2001 - Anna Kournikova
was pictured at a catwalk rehearsal with Omega President Stephen Urquhart
in Hong Kong on Tuesday. Later, Anna was pictured walking the catwalk for
the watch maker.
January 4, 2001 - Seems the
match in Santiago Chile where Anna beat Hingis 6-4, 6-4 was the trigger
to their doubles relationship falling apart. The New York Post reports
Anna quoting that Hingis asked her during a side change "If I thought I
was the queen, because the real queen was her." The question infuriated
Anna into actually playing with some fire and beating Hingis but later
in the lockerroom the two argued and threw bouquets and trophies at each
other. Later, Anna fired a glass at Hingis in the club house.
January 4, 2001 - In an Abstracts.net
poll asking if Anna Kournikova should pose nude in Playboy, 79.4% of the
871 total respondents said yes, while only 20.6% said she should keep her
clothes on.
January 3, 2001 - The South
China Morning Post reports Anna Kournikova has denied allegations that
she said Liz Hurley was ugly. Kournikova explained, "In fact I think she's
great. I really like her in the movie Austin Powers. It's one of my favourite
films. I met her at Buckingham Palace when I played an exhibition game
and she was really nice. I think because we were in England the press just
needed some sensation, something to write about."
