Anna's doctor, Hubert Hoerterer, said "It'll definitely take another three months before Anna can go on court to play in a tournament. Anything else would be unwise, because otherwise the injury could flare up again."

August 23, 2001 - The Star reports Anna and Sergei got into a huge argument at LAX after the injured Anna had to deal with luggage and ticket agents while Segei sat and did nothing.

August 15, 2001 - Anna Kournikova is interviewed in September's issue of FHM. Honestly, it's a rather dull read (but the pictures aren't!) but Anna does admit she "stood in line a very long time" to wait for McDonald's to open in Moscow. Anna also claims to be a homebody saying "I hardly ever go out, only for birthdays and Christmas. I just want to stay home and have sushi for dinner."

August 10, 2001 - The Sun has photos of Anna and Sergei kissing at dinner when the two ate at an extravagant Miami eaterie named B.E.D.

August 7, 2001 - Anna Kournikova pulled out of this week's Los Angeles Classic on Sunday, citing a sore foot.

August 7, 2001 - Anna Kournikova and Martina Hingis lost in their doubles 6-4 1-6 6-4 final against Elena Likhovtseva and Cara Black at the Acura Classic August 5, 2001 in Carlsbad, California.

August 6, 2001 - Anna and Martina beat Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario and Jennifer Capriati in a thrilling match on Stadium Court 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. The pair now have advanced to the finals.

August 5, 2001 - Anna Kournikova lost in the second round of the Acura Classic to  Australian Nicole Pratt 6-7, 6-1, 6-3. Anna said afterwards, "Every time, every month you are waiting and waiting. It got a little frustrating. I was on the court during the French Open practicing in London but then I felt discomfort in a different place. I had to stop again and was in a cast for another three or four weeks because the foot was inactive for so long. I hope that doesn't happen this time. I have to be really careful."

Personally, I think it was a publicity ploy to get focus on her Omega watch, as she's a spokesperson for the company.

August 5, 2001 - A British GQ magazine from July 2001 with Anna on the cover is up for bids on ebay. The magazine, item 1452417537, is bid at $3 with the auction ending August 9th. Another magazine, the September 2001 issue of FHM, item 1452487013, is unbid at $5.72 with the auction ending August 12th.

August 3, 2001 - Anna Kournikova made the following statement on her official site: "While I don't typically comment on my personal life, let me confirm once again that I am not married. I can't be any clearer on this subject and I hope the rumors will stop."

August 1, 2001 - Anna has made up with doubles partner Martina Hingis apparently as the two are once again playing together in San Diego. Also, Anna's wedding ring can apparently be seen, as pictures at Ananova.com attest.
