October 29, 2001 - Anna Kournikova had a better run than her previous 5 first-round losses at the SEAT Open where she lost 7-5, 7-6 (2) to top-seeded Kim Clijsters in the quarterfinals.

October 21, 2001 - Anna Kournikova suffered her fifth successive first-round defeat 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 to  Amanda Coetzer of South Africa at the Swisscom Challenge WTA tournament in Zurich on Tuesday. Anna said afterwards, "Amanda is always a very tough player to play. She's never going to give up. I basically tried to play my game, to be aggressive."

October 18, 2001 - The Seattle Times reports Anna Kournikova had no idea about the news she was cast to play in 007 until yesterday telling reporters, "I found that out yesterday, too, on the Internet. It's really interesting. Seriously, I know as little as anyone else on that. Right now, I'm just happy to be healthy. Bond girls have to do a lot of tough things. And I don't think I'm physically ready for that."

October 16, 2001 - Sky TV reports Anna Kournikova is expected to star with Pierce Brosnan in Bond 20.

October 14, 2001 - Anna Kournikova again lost in the first round still trying to rebound from her foot injury. Anna lost 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 to Anne Kremer at the Porsche Grand Prix on Wednesday. Anna said afterwards, "I was playing well from the baseline and I was moving a lot better, but my serve was a problem."

October 13, 2001 - The Sun reports Anna Kournikova is in talks to appear in Pierce Brosnan’s fourth 007 movie.

October 11, 2001 - Scotty F Word from the dwarf band The Little Kingz, featured in the new Ben Stiller movie Zoolander, tells Metal-Sludge.com he rates Anna Kournikova a 'f***ing 10!' (10 being a hottie).

October 7, 2001 - News of the World reports Anna Kournikova and Sergei Federov were spotted at a  trendy London shoe shop Gina in search of new shoes.
