23, 2003 - The Sunday Mirror reports Enrique Iglesias sent girlfriend Anna
Kournikova a bouquet of 200 roses at the five-star Conrad Hotel in London's
Chelsea. The sickly sweet message read: "Happy Birthday, I love you more
and more every day." Iglesias signed off the message with his apparent
nickname "Love Turtle."
June 14, 2003 - An evil Russian
mobster was a "second father" to tennis beauty Anna Kournikova, the News
of the World can reveal. Yakov Gofman, whose crime gang was notorious for
contract killings and racketeering, claimed he "invested" £300,000
in getting Anna's career off the ground.

could have to miss Wimbledon after she pulled out of the WTA tournament
because of a long-standing back injury.
