have to have a thicker skin and go out and play."
March 27, 2000 - Anna was
involved in legal troubles during a flight March 19 when she refused to
put her dog in a FAA mandated carrying case. The police report contends

rudely." After losing to Seles yesterday, Anna explained "I had to give
my dog a pill, that's why I took him out of the cage."
March 13, 2000 - Anna Kournikova
was upset in the 3rd round at Indian Wells on Sunday to Nathalie

a pretty strange match, up-and-down, I didn't really feel very comfortable
out there."
March 4, 2000 - Apparently
Anna isn't having the same positive reaction to her sports game as Pavel
is as she again got whooped by Lindsay Davenport 6-2 6-2 in the semifinals
of the State Farm Women's Tennis Classic.
February 28, 2000 - Richard

Anna Kournikova loses in the semifinals of the Paris Open to France's 2nd

kind of matches."

Kournikova has committed to play in Sydney for the Summer Olympics says

of the Australian Open 6-4, 6-3, continuing Kournikova's Grand Slam drought.
January 21, 2000 - The Herald
Sun of Melbourne reports that Anna Kournikova and Australian player Mark
Philippoussis were seen kissing in the underground carpark of the tennis
center in Melbourne for this year's Australian Open. [Editor's note: perhaps
this is why Anna is playing the best tennis of her career with 17 consecutive
games won in the first two rounds... maybe the jinx will finally be broken]
January 5, 2000 - Anna Kournikova
loses in the 1st round of the Australian women's hardcourt tennis championships
against seventh-seeded Silvija Talaja 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

December 30, 1999 - Reuter's
is reporting additional information on the Kournikova-Bure situation. As
quoted from Kournikova's agent: ``Well, it does not necessarily mean they
have a relationship,'' he said. "Anna is a very friendly person and I know
that she has many friends among other athletes. And of course if two people
of the same nationality happen to live next door to each other in a foreign
country they are bound to see each other more often. Anna likes hockey
very much and, if time permits, she goes to Panthers' home games quite
frequently."
December 19, 1999 - Anna
Kournikova ranked #12 in the WTA ranked singles player's list, trailing
#1 ranked Martina Hingis.

of the Toronto Star reports that Sergei Federov's hockey game is not up
to par because of problems between him and Kournikova. Strachan says Anna
has turned her back on the Russian for a fellow Russian Pavel Bure of the
Florida Panthers. [editors note: apparently Anna and Bure also have condo's
in the same Florida unit... so far no neighbors have reported any naked
sightings of the two]
