January 31, 2001 - Rumors that
*NSYNC and Britney Spears will be touring together this summer are flying
and the reaction online hasn't been postive. In fact, a petition
is already making the rounds at petitiononline.com. Some early reaction
includes, "We are fans of *NSYNC, not *NSYNCY." Another detractor states,
"I refuse to pay to see 50% of the concert performed by ANY lipsyncher."
So far, obviously, most of the reaction is coming from *NSYNC fans.

31, 2001 - The Star reports local boys from Rio are upset that Britney's
bikini showed too LITTLE skin. The locals wanted to see Britney in the
familiar attire of Brazlian beach going women, a thong.
January 30, 2001 - Howard
Stern was commenting on the Super Bowl halftime show today saying that
he thought Britney Spears looked kind of chubby. Huh?
January 30, 2001 - A photographer
from a Florida newspaper emailed into the Rush & Molloy show on eyada.com
today to tell Joanna that as he walked by Justin and Britney Sunday at
the Super Bowl, he could smell 'mary-jane' and that their eyes matched
the part.
January 29, 2001 - *NSYNC,
Aerosmith, Britney, Nelly, and Mary J.. Blige performed at the halftime
of Super Bowl XXXV (and it wasn't lip synched!).
January 28, 2001 - The News
of the World reports Reg Jones and Britney Spears will meet again at Britney's
brother Ryan's wedding in May. She’ll be a bridesmaid and he’ll be an usher
as friends say "Reg and Bryan are old pals." Apparently Reg was so devastated
by being dumped by Britney 3 years ago, he joined the navy.
January 28, 2001 - Britney
in Hawaii has been nominated as Music Special of the Year in the 3rd Annual
TV Guide Awards. The event will be held March 7, 2001 on FOX.

Spears has been nominated as Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Female Artist
- Pop (Internet Only), and Favorite CD (Oops.. I Did it Again) in the Seventh
Annual Blockbuster Awards. The show will air April 11th on FOX.

has a story on the entire Britney Spears swearing incident in Rio, where
they speculate "Some, however, suggest that fans are rushing to hear Britney's
flip-out not because of the cursing, but because it shows the navel-baring
idol doing something few boy bands or teen starlets do in public these
days: Acting normal without posturing, or without interference from paranoid

Spears is shown here in a white outfit in an autographed photo auction
currently on ebay. The photo, item #549429914, is unbid at $24.99 and ends
February 2nd.
January 27, 2001 - Christina's
mother shot down reports that her daughter and Britney Spears would be
taking part in an MTV show called Not That Innocent. Said Shelly Kearns,
"No, it's not true. I just asked Christina about it about 15 minutes ago,
and she didn't know what the heck I was talking about! So no...it's
not true. Just a silly rumor."
January 26, 2001 - The New
York Daily News reports Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake have RSVP'd
to Derek Jeter's invitation-only party Friday at the Rain Lounge in Tampa.
January 26, 2001 - Eyada's
Rush & Molloy said today an AOL rep confirmed that Britney did swear
in the clip that's been heard on the net. Apparently the audio was streamed
to the audience and DirectTV during the live feeds, but will get edited
out for future airings.

Spears has been nominated for Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Song
(Oops! ... I Did It Again) in the Kids' Choice Awards. Rosie O'Donnell
will host the awards show on April 21 on Nickelodeon.

Ted Casablanca reports the opinions of Lisa Nicole Carson (Ally McBeal)
and Sting on whether Britney or Christina is the better singer. Said Carson
matter-of-factly "Christina", and Sting, "Well, that's really unfair--if
I vote for one, then the other will be upset that I didn't vote for her.
I would hate to be part of that survey."
January 25, 2001 - The Salt
Lake Tribune reports Britney Spears and *NSYNC played an acoustic set at
a private party in Deer Valley Saturday night. Later, Justin and Britney
were spotted strolling Main Street.
January 25, 2001 - Apparently
Britney Spears is a goth freak, according to this week's Star. They report
Spears has spent over $100,000 on leather clothing and silver jewelry at
Chrome Hearts in LA. Britney even offered to model in their ads, but she
didn't quite fit their image so they politely declined.

Britney Spears indeed has been added as a late addition to this year's
Super Bowl half-time show, which is being produced by MTV, according to

January 24, 2001 - Apparently
neighbors of Britney Spears in New York are upset that her brother will
be the main tenant in their building. They'd hoped her living there would
increase their property values, reports Peoplenews.com.
January 23, 2001 - The New
York Post reports the Union Square apartment Britney bought is for her
brother, and she'll have a small bedroom in the place when she's in town.
She plans on living in her new mansion in Beverly Hills.

reports comments from those at the Rock in Rio show and the controversy
involving the American flag. An onlooker told the Sun, "The atmosphere
became quite hostile when the flag appeared. It put a dampener on her performance."

the World reports that Britney and Justin spent three nights in the honeymoon
suite of the Intercontinental Rio hotel they were staying at. Rav reports
the two spent nearly all of their time in Rio in the $800/night room ordering
fried chicken, chips and cans of cola. A Britney spokesman told the tabloid,
"It was ideal for both Britney and Justin because they find it much easier
to relax when in each other’s company."

Spears was shown performing at Rock in Rio Thursday. Rick in our message
boards tells us that Britney was booed while singing Lucky. Why? Because
the American flag came down at the end of the song, causing the booing
and chants of "Brazil!"

reports Guns N' Roses and the Foo Fighters were left sleepless in Rio after

Britney Spears used the help of a look-alike, Renata Barros, to distract

is reporting that Britney Spears has been spending hours on the phone with
Macaulay Culkin after meeting her following one of her concerts in London.
They report Justin was furious with a source revealing, "Justin exploded
when he found out that Macaulay and Britney had made plans to meet up in
Los Angeles. He quickly got Macaulay on the phone and basically told him
to stay away from Britney or else. But Britney exploded when she

Jeannette Walls asked Rav Singh of News of the World to elaborate on his

reports the first comments from Britney Spears following the incident on
her UK tour when a British fan ran onstage and tried to attack her. Spears
said, "This guy jumped up, took his shirt off and started going crazy.
I thought, 'Oh, Lordy, what are you doing?' I was petrified but one of
my dancers just walked up to him and said, 'Get off the stage.' It was
very brave of him." Since then her dancers have taken self-defense training

poll asking if they thought Justin Timberlake sees other women besides
Britney, 56.1% said he does, while 43.9% of the 4815 total respondents
said Justin was faithful to his girlfriend.
January 3, 2001 - The New
York Daily News reports Christina Aguilera was very upset when she found
out Yaboom, the company who markets dolls for her, Britney, Sisqo, and
others, made the dolls so that the chip that made them sing be interchangable.
Fearing Britney's songs would be sung from her doll, a well place source
told the Daily News Christina "threw a major hissy fit. She threatened
to pull out of the deal. Yaboom had to retool the entire line." A rep for
Aguilera said she didn't know anything about it, while Yaboom refused comment.
