May 27, 2001 - In a survey conducted by Slay Media Access, Americans were given a list of names and asked which were most familiar. Tiger Woods was the person those surveyed were most familiar with 92 percent said they'd heard of him. Britney Spears came in at No. 4 with an 84 percent familiarity rating. She was right behind Julia Roberts and Jim Carrey.

May 27, 2001 - 42-year-old Deborah Norville was asked whether her entry into the music business should worry Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera and laughed while responding, "I think if you add both their ages together, I'm still older." Read more.

May 27, 2001 - Britney Spears had several videos featured in the TRL Retirement Home special on MTV this weekend with Stronger, Lucky, Sometimes, Oops, and the highest ranked Baby One More Time (number 3) all being retired on the countdown.

May 26, 2001 - Jay Leno joked on his monologue Friday, "Here's something interesting. I read this in the paper today. Listen to this. What do you think of this? I guess when Britney Spears goes on dates with her boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, her mom sends along a bodyguard to make sure she stays a virgin. What is that job like, huh? Is that like being in the secret service? Code four -- he's going for the panties. I'm moving in. He's going for the panties. I'm moving in. Moving in now. Yeah, yeah."

May 26, 2001 - Conan O'Brien joked on during his monologue Friday, "In a recent interview, true story, Britney Spears said that she loves her boyfriend Justin Timberlake, but she wants to remain a virgin until she gets married. True story. Yeah, Timberlake was unavailable for comment because he was busy packing his testicles in ice. He said he'd get back to us. Use scotch tape. Lots of packing tape. All right."

May 26, 2001 - Britney Spears is featured on the cover of US Weekly where she tells Todd Gold, "I like the sweet drinks, but I don't always like the way I feel the next day" but she says she doesn't smoke. Britney also addresses the virgin issue saying, "Have we had sex?" she says. "That's something that, you know, I'd like to keep personal... I want to wait to have sex until I'm married. I do. I want to wait. But it's hard." Regarding marriage, Britney says, "I think we have so much growing to do as people before we decide something like that. Why rush? Who knows where I'll be when I'm 24? I think you get married when you decide to have children, and that's away down the line for me." US Weekly says Britney has gotten a second tattoo recently of a daisy on her toe.

May 25, 2001 - The Sun reports Britney Spears is reaffirming the fact that she is still a virgin and plans on remaining one telling them, My views on virginity have not changed. I want to wait to have sex until I'm married. I do. I want to wait. But it's hard. I just want to live my life." Spears added, "Justin makes me laugh. I'm very in love. He's such a beautiful person - inside and out - and we have so much fun together."

May 25, 2001 - Peoplenews reports the Daily Express is now saying Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have been offered $10 million each to strip for an online magazine. Britney has refused outright, but Christina is thinking about it.

May 24, 2001 - Dido talked to BBC's Radio 1 about writing a song for Britney to sing in her new movie saying, "It was quite a challenge for me to write something that's definitely about pop. I'd chuck in a lyric and they'd be like, 'Dido, are you trying to make people kill themselves? This is entertainment'."

May 24, 2001 - Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have both been offered $2 million to pose naked on the website lethalsports.com. This site's offer says, "They are so sweet, so innocent. Now we want to see if Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are all grown up." Deadline to accept the offer is May 28th.

May 13, 2001 - Worldpop reports Britney Spears has signed a 17-year-old female country singer, Kristy Lee Cook, to her production company B&L Productions.

May 22, 2001 - On Jay Leno's monologue Monday; "Sony Playstation 2, coming out with an Experience Britney Spears video game. Very realistic. In fact, the chips are made from the very same silicone as Britney."

May 8, 2001 - News of the World reports Britney Spears was taking a break from shooting her movie What Are Friends For? when she went into Rodney’s English Disco in LA for the launch of trendy coffee table tome The Look. An insider revealed, "She just walked in, looked around and suddenly realised it was a private party."

May 8, 2001 - EXCLUSIVE We hear that today or tomorrow the New York Daily News will report Britney Spears parents have been living apart recently as he's been doing renovations on their old home.
