31, 2001 - A petition has gone up demanding that Britney Spears and Destiny's
Child 'middle one' Beyonce Knowles be reconsidered in the latest Austin
Power's flick, 'Austin Powers In Goldmember'. The petition cites, "Because
their fan base is mostly children and teenagers who will not even be allowed
to see the movie, and also because the total amount of people who are against
Spears and Knowles is much higher than the amount of their fans, we feel
that they will be bad for the movie, and drive viewers away from it." Read

Weekly writer Molly Brown gave her thoughts on the year in music and saved
her most pointed comments for Britney Spears. Brown blasted, "Britney is
not, and never will be, in the same freaking arena as Madonna" adding,
"Madonna pretty much did what she did until she got control. And when she
got control, control she did--the entire world. Britney, on the other hand,
is a Disney-ized, wind- 'em-up, un-popped cherry doll--or so she claims--who

Tonight reports the Michael Jackson and Britney Spears duet of 'The Way
You Make Me Feel' will finally be seen as CBS will re-air the '30th Anniversary
Celebration' on January 9. Inexplicably, ET tries to say "it was cut before
the original airing in November due to time constraints." Yeah right, like
CBS would cut that portion out, the true reason was contractual snags with
HBO that didn't allow her to be on another special within so many days
of her own, and the Jacko special fell within that gap.

is profiling the London tabloid's take on advance showings of Britney Spears'
new film 'Crossroads.' A source told the Daily Star: "There's a lot of
enthusiasm for Britney so there's been a lot of emphasis on the film's
bad script and bad music. But there's no denying Britney is bad herself."

magazine's January 1 issue includes a story on Britney being ordered to
clean up her act for her new movie and it includes a pair of photos featuring
Britney shopping in New York wearing a Black Hills Harley-Davidson shirt
and hip-hugging pants with over 2 inches of her g-string undies protruding
out the back. They quote Spears in the piece saying, "What's the big deal?
Honestly, I walk around my house naked, so I'm not very modest." As for
her movie, while the films backers made her reshoot some too-sexy scenes
to retain a PG-13 rating, a source said, "Britney will sing, dance and
cavort in skimpy clothes, just like her fans expect her to."

spoke with Britney Spears about her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake's
influence on her current album 'Britney' where Spears revealed, "Well,
he wrote that one song on the record. But as far as the other stuff, he
is a busybody himself, so I try not to bother him too much with the stuff
that I do. But if I had something to ask him, his opinion, whatever he
thinks and whatever his opinion is means a lot to me. I mean, he's everything
to me. So I'm always asking him if I have something that's really weighing
on my mind, he's always there for me. But other than that, he really didn't
have that much input on this record. But definitely on my next one, hopefully

Journal Sentinel's Gemma Tarlach gave her thoughts on the year in music
and started out by slamming Britney Spears. Said Tarlach, "In pop music,
2001 began - and ended - with Britney's belly button, on Jumbotron display
first at the Super Bowl, then in a Pepsi ad and finally on tour around
the nation. Apparently, it was the biggest selling point for an artist
better known for lip-synching other people's songs than for any innate

containing sex, rape, underage drinking and teen pregnancy. Rich Mendelson,
17, of Edison, N.J. said matter of factly, "She appeals to a male audience
because she's hot. What do you think is going through a teenage boy's mind
when she sings ‘I'm a Slave for You'?" As for mothers, Bertha Quevedo of
Astoria, Queens said, "I didn't know she had a movie coming out, but now

Worldpop reports Britney Spears' official website has withdrawn a news
item claiming that Britney would perform a duet with Sean P Diddy Combs
at the upcoming American Music Awards. While they think the removal was
a sign the duet was scrapped, don't speak too soon. The more likely reason
was it was still in negotiations but more than likely will go thru... after
all, they now both have the same management.

Spears posted an updated on Lynne's Corner on Friday outlining her daughter's
plans for the holidays. Lynne said, "It is four days before Christmas and
Britney's last show is tonight. She will visit Justin at his home in Memphis.
Brit will come home Christmas Eve, and stay home through the rest of the
holidays. Bryan will come home for a week also." Lynne confirmed rumors
that Britney's relatives had passed away saying "We lost Maw Ruth and Grandmother
Lexie within twenty-four hours of each other. Britney came home for the

York Daily News reports Britney Spears and her Wright Management mate Sean
'P. Diddy' Combs played a game of "ring around the bed" Wednesday night
in a Miami Beach club called Bed. The place has several beds about the
club's floor and Britney had a mattress next to Puffy's, but spies had
a hard time catching a look as both were surrounded by bodyguards.

show as Jay joked during his Wednesday monologue, "Britney Spears said
this week she will not -- she will not pose naked for an anti-fur ad after
it was announced she would. Remember she said she's gonna do it? Now, she's
not. Today, a spokesman for PETA said, it's extremely frustrating for Britney
to lead the group to believe she was cooperating, and then all of a sudden
changed her mind at the last minute. Which [*NSYNC's] Justin Timberlake
said, 'Tell me about it.'"

Ted Casablanca has a blind item this week that might make readers recall
Britney Spears and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake being robbed of a videotape
from a Florida town a few months back. Ted only describes the couple as
"nubile, famous folks are celebrated the world over for their undiminished
and unscathed love for each other" and refers to them as "young lovers."

Bundchen who was asked about her favorite kinds of music. Gisele said,
"I love Brazilian music, from Legião Urbana to Caetano Veloso. From

a mix of everything, 80's artists, Brazilian artists. I just don't like
*NSYNC,sh** like that. It's crap, and I can't stand someone who steps in

Kot of the Chicago Tribune spoke with Ozzy Osbourne about his feelings
regarding pop music as he revealed, "It's because the media keeps telling
the public that Britney Spears and Whitney Houston are in, but I hate it
when the industry tells people what they should be listening to." As for
his thoughts specifically on Spears, he said, "I quite like Britney Spears
for what she does. Not that I ever would buy one of her albums. But I see
where she's coming from, and I appreciate the fact that the kids get off

Spears dance performance at the Philips Arena and gave it decent reviews
saying, "Spears was consistently charming and commanding throughout. Yep,
she lipsynced. But at this point, folks should just accept some recorded
vocals as an inescapable part of the modern concert experience like pyrotechnics,

engine interest of their own. Topping the Overture.com search queries are
Lynn Harless, the often visible mother of *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake who
received 108 searches during the month of November. Next up was Britney
Spears' mother Lynne Spears who received 106 searches. Joe Simpson, father
of Jessica Simpson received 89 searches. Surprisingly, the most vocal parent
on the web, Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns, didn't receive the
25 search limit to even be listed.

latest hit 'Slave 4 U' hasn't done much on the pop charts, it has found
a new audience on urban radio. Romana DeBreaux, music director of Atlanta
radio station Hot 107.9 admits, "It's a great song, bottom line. The phone
lines reflected the fact that it's a great song. It was Top 10 on phone

about his mother, "We're best friends. I've done some stupid things, but

week's US Weekly has news and photos of Britney Spears' birthday weekend
for the singer who turned 20 on December 2. Britney and *NSYNC's Justin
Timberlake took a private jet to the Lake Placid Lodge in upstate New York
and stayed in a 700 dollar-per-night cabin that had no television but did
'offer' separate beds. They also talk about her strip tease gift from stripper
Steven Peters and her New Jersey concert dance performance where O-Town
her with "Happy Birthday".

reports Britney Spears was forced to reshoot scenes to her movie Crossroads
following negative reaction in test screenings to her wearing too little
clothing. An insider at the studio explained, "It is unfair to make judgments
from this because it is a work in progress. Changes will be part of the
process of making a great Britney movie for release in February (2002).
She will sing, dance and cavort in skimpy clothes, just like her fans expect
her to."

Sun Times reports Britney Spears will take advantage of post Super Bowl
pre Mardi Gras week in New Orleans to hold the movie premiere of her first
flick 'Crossroads'. A group of specially selected Spears fans will be her
guests for the red-carpet premiere and post-party. As for her next film,
look for Britney in 'American Girl', with some scenes shot in Britain.
The film is about New York girl with a fabulous singing voice who heads
to London to find a long-lost father.

Kilborn joked during his Thursday monologue about the what we now know
is a false story about Britney Spears getting nude for the PETA anti-fur
campaign and threw in a shot at her *NSYNC boyfriend. Kilborn joked, "When
boyfriend Justin Timberlake asked whether it would make him jealous. He
said jealous? Why would I be jealous? I'm g---... yeah, I'm really, really
jealous. Spokesman for Britney says fake fur is the perfect accessory for
fake singing, fake breasts and fake virginity."
December 14, 2001 - Reuters
reports the widely circulated reports that Britney Spears would pose nude
for PETA was denied by both PETA's Dan Mathews and the publicist for Britney
Spears, Lisa Kasteler. Lisa said, "Notwithstanding the meaningful work
that PETA does, we cannot be involved with an organization that would distort
the truth," so even the clothed ad appears in jeopardy. Mathews denied

fans addressing her thoughts on the terror attacks of September 11 and

York Post reports Britney Spears has agreed to pose for a PETA poster and
"bare her bodacious bod" for an animal-rights layout due out by Christmas.
PETA spokesman Dan Matthews said after writing Britney about her use of
animals at the MTV Awards they got a letter from Spears. "A few weeks after
we wrote her, we were sent a letter saying Britney had abandoned using

Daily Double shows Britney Spears' latest effort 'Britney' receiving a
10% jump in sales for the week as she climbs back up 2 to the #4 spot behind
heavyweight Creed and the always popular NOW series and the NOW Xmas special
compilation. Other pop acts in the charts are Enrique slipping to #12,
Shakira holding at #15 and Backstreet Boys' Hits outpacing *NSYNC's Celebrity.
Michael Jackson's Invincible continued to show vincibility, dropping to
#27, just ahead of the Madonna GHV2 album. Mariah's Greatest Hits album
on Columbia debuted so low it may fall of some observer's radars clocking
in at a pathetic #44 with 64,000 sales.

reports Pink has revealed a desire to sleep with Justin Timberlake more
than any other boy-band member. Pink also joked about Britney Spears supposedly
not having sex with her *NSYNC boyfriend saying, "I live with Justin but

Flander of the Philadelphia Daily News was outside of the First Union Center
last night in Philadelphia to talk with fans at Monday night's Britney
Spears' dance performance. The reporter says there were mostly lookalike
teenage girls but few guys except ones with their girlfriends or looking
to pick up on the girls that went. Flander also says, "There did not seem
to be any black people at the concert, though it is possible there were

has more details on the Britney Spears night of drinking with boyfriend
Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC at C2K, which prompted the Las Vegas Liquor
Commission to cite the bar for serving the underaged couple and pals. A
witness told the Enquirer, "Britney looked like she was feeling no pain
and, at one point, got very loud and started shouting: 'This is Las Vegas,
let's party.' Then waitresses offered the group more drinks. Her party
started slamming down shots of Jagermeister so fast the waitresses couldn't
keep up with them. Other guests were commenting on how rude those so-called
