When you're young and you fall in love with somebody, that's something that happens even truly.'' Read more.

Karger said, "With a PG-13 rating, several musical numbers, and some bordering-on-racy plot points, this will be the movie to see this weekend for any teen female. Britney won't win any acting awards but this is her first try and she's charming enough for us to root for." Barker gave the film 3 out of 5 stars concluding, "If you are a young, rabid Britney fan, you'll love the film. If you are older and think Britney is hot, you'll see her in at least a couple of skimpy outfits. If you can't stand her, you wouldn't be going anyway. 'Crossroads' is surprisingly...okay." Read more.

February 16, 2002 - Another negative review of 'Crossroads' from Susan Stark of the Detroit News who says, "None of that matters much, though. Tarlich said, "Like Spears' music, the movie is too sexually charged for preteens - and like 'A Mother's Gift,' the bomb of a book she co-penned in 2001, too simplistic for the rest of us. Lacking substance and soul, 'Crossroads' comes up shorter than Britney's cutoffs." Read more.

With Spears' legions of fans as a ready-made audience, it is certain to be an extremely popular date movie for teens. Girls will root for the characters and eat up the soap opera crises. Their boyfriends will sit back and enjoy the scenery." Read more.

February 16, 2002 - Elisa Bongiovanni of the Contra Costa Times gave her thoughts on Britney Spears and admitted, "I've always liked Britney, you see, but up until recently, I was ashamed of it. That is, until I realized I wasn't alone." Bongiovanni explained, "I enjoy her music for the same reason I enjoy Jerry Bruckheimer flicks -- it's mindless entertainment. You know as an 'adult' you are supposed to hate it, or her in this case, but you can't help but be secretly entertained." Read more.

Is anybody else sick of seeing Britney Spears every time they turn on the set these days? Every five freaking minutes, she's in an ad for Pepsi or Herbal Essence shampoo or this 'Crossroads' movie. Or she's supplying the same much-rehearsed answers on talk shows like this or some pseudo-newscast to the same stupid questions about acting, her outfits, whether she considers herself a role model and her relationship with the kid from *NSYNC. Of course, all of that is far better than having to listen to her lip-sync another bland jingle.
