March 31, 2002 - In our poll asking 'How do you characterize the Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake relationship drama?', most of you responded that you didn't care, with 23.1%. Those that did thought their romance was over, with nearly double responding over the thinking that the pair are still in love.

March 31, 2002 - Britney Spears revealed her views on heaven and the afterlife to a German magazine. She said she thinks God has "a long white beard" and "wanders around" in heaven. She called heaven a place where "everyone is at peace and happy and they all hop around from cloud to cloud". Also in the interview, Spears admitted that she has made hundreds of mistakes in the past but has learned from them.

March 31, 2002 - Associated Press reports veteran rocker David Crosby of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young took a break from his "Tour of America" to assess the current crop of musicians. Crosby said, "There's some good people out there, but there's a lot of fluff. Things like *NSYNC and Britney. These people are about as deep as a birdbath." Read more.

March 30, 2002 - Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue Friday night, "What a crowd. You sound like Clinton and Gary Condit when they heard Britney Spears was single again. Yeah!"

March 30, 2002 - The Sun has photos of Britney Spears using her hands to cover her breasts while sunbathing with male and female pals aboard the deck of a luxury cruiser off Miami Beach in Florida. Check out the shots here.

March 30, 2002 - Heathy Lee Roth of the Cleveland Scene profiled the steady ripple through pop culture that Britney Spears has become, and why all of us care so much about anything she does. Roth writes, "Lack of any musical knowledge aside, Britney's doe-eyed 'I didn't ask for all this' Southern charm doesn't allow girls to just write her off cattily, like the warbling, sleazy Christina Aguilera. Girls want to like Britney because she seems as if she deserves the fame and fortune, even though she might be just a prepackaged teenyboppin' mall tart who sings songs she didn't write. March 30, 2002 - Noah Robischon of Entertainment Weekly reviewed the new Britney Spears video game from THQ for PlayStation 2, 'Britney's Dance Beat.' The game only has only five songs in total for its 10 levels; the first round of routines plays only half of each, while the second round uses full-length versions. Robischon said, "The game is just cheesy enough to make you stop, look, and bust out dancing." The latest news on the game was that Britney requested changes in her original digital likeness asking for slimmer hips and more-level-set eyes. Read more.

March 29, 2002 - Tara Ariano of the National Post is giving her thoughts on all the chaos that Britney Spears rumored breakup with Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC is causing in the media. Tara writes, "The breakup would not be remarkable in the least were it not for the way the entertainment press is pouncing on Britney's few comments and dissecting them as though she were the Delphic oracle pronouncing a latter-day riddle of the Sphinx." March 29, 2002 - Elysa Gardner of USA Today spoke with music and gossip insiders on word that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC have split up. Rob Roberts of WHYI-FM in Miami said, "Their star power has been amplified by each other. It's a publicist's dream relationship." Roberts says Timberlake is better positioned for future success saying, "Justin has been a little more groundbreaking, while Britney has been a little more predictable." Read more.

March 29, 2002 - Kylie Minogue spoke out at Capital Radio's Help A London Child Awards at the Lancaster Gate Hotel last night, blasting Britney Spears for brushing off thousands of her fans at her premiere of 'Crossroads' on Monday. Kylie said, "Britney should know the ropes by now. She has caused a big fuss over nothing. I've been in the position where people push you from one place to another. It's hard to get to everyone, but her PRs have pushed her in the wrong direction - she's been misguided. I'm sure she didn't intend to let down her fans. March 29, 2002 - Foxnews.com's Roger Friedman is commenting on the breakup of Britney Spears and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake, as well as his lunch with Alicia Keys. Friedman said, "When Britney made her startling admission to me — that she didn't know who Yoko Ono or Linda McCartney were — Justin and the gang ferociously mocked her. In fact, even Justin's mom — who seemed quite nice — was incredulous." Friedman also says the two "had almost no physical contact all night." Read more.

March 29, 2002 - Ananova reports Britney Spears wasn't originally supposed to sing in her debut film Crossroads. Britney revealed, "We started to look at the script and I thought to spice it up a little bit, it'd be fun to put in a song or too." As for her latest film work on the new Austin Powers flick with Mike Myers, she said, "It was very cool. I'm supposed to be very sexy throughout the scene - it was a lot of fun." Read more.

March 28, 2002 - Star magazine reports Britney Spears is a basket case following her breakup with *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake. They report problems erupted after Britney accused Justin of flirting with a waitress. Britney had quickly left a party in Los Angeles after spending 30 minutes in the bathroom talking on the phone with Justin when he broke the news. An onlooker revealed, "I heard a friend who was with her say: 'He's not much of a man if he dumps you over the phone,' and Britney burst into tears." Read more.

March 28, 2002 - Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Wednesday: "Britney Spears is single again. [ Cheers ] There you go, guys! She says she's in the market. She's looking for a new guy who likes to sing, likes to dance, and enjoys being extremely sexually frustrated. [ Laughter ] If this is something you can handle, you might want to give her a call. She's also opening the Britney Spears restaurant. That's what they said in New York. And her friends say it's a great idea. They say her cooking is 'lip-syncing' good."

March 28, 2002 - The New York Post reports Britney Spears has come up with a name for her restaurant to be opened in New York in May. Originally to be called 'Pinky's' after her pet name given by ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, she's now decided on NYLA, a combination of her home state of Louisiana and the joint's home in New York. Michael Perselay will run the kitchen at the restaurant to be located at the Dylan Hotel.

March 28, 2002 - Anonymous writes "Tara Reid promoting her new movie in New York today was on Z100 this morning. She had no idea where The Post got the rumor about her consoling a broken hearted and drinking with Britney Spears from. She said she was south of the border in Mexico, partying that night."

March 28, 2002 - The Mirror reports Britney Spears was clueless when asked about her best-known British fan, Downing Street spin doctor Alastair Campbell (understandable) as well as Britain's Prime Minister Tony Blair (not so understandable). Britney said when asked what he thought about Campbell coming to her show, "Alastair Campbell? I've never heard of him. Who is he?" When told he was Tony Blair's right-hand man, Britney wondered, "Tony Blair? I've never heard of him either. Who is he?" Read more.

March 28, 2002 - MTV News reports Britney Spears' admission of being single was a joke that later had the singer accept a proposal of marriage from Big Breakfast presenter Richard Bacon, who later staged a mock wedding between the two. After exchanging their "I do's", Britney said, "I'm married, mom! Let's go on our honeymoon. Let's leave now and go to Vegas, baby!" Bacon wanted to hit a nearby lodge to seal the deal, but Britney sneared, "Um, yeah, OK." Britney's handlers nabbed the marriage certificate application after the cameras stopped rolling. Read more.

March 28, 2002 - Lynne Spears posted a new update on her daughter's official site on Wednesday. Lynne said, "Britney, Jamie Lynn and I have made a belated New Year’s resolution. We are all on an anti-cancer diet and fitness program. I have bought all kinds of new foods. We have been working out like crazy and we feel better than ever. My doctor encouraged me to do this. We have an extensive family history of cancer. There are some new diagnostic methods coming out in the next few years. I pray they have more answers soon." March 28, 2002 - Well Entertainment Tonight's and Access Hollywood's spin (and several other news reports I saw) on the Britney Spears appearance on Big Breakfast Wednesday morning was that she is single, as she made no reference to Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC. That would make the wedding portion of the show a joke, but she was single when she said "I'm single... right now."

March 28, 2002 - Beat.com.au spoke with KISS guitarist Gene Simmons on whether he thinks today's top pop acts will have 30-year careers like his band and The Rolling Stones. Simmons replied, "At the end of the day the only thing that matters is – of the people, for the people, by the people. If the people like it, then that’s the end of it. You and I could sit on the sidelines and say 'ah yes, but it doesn’t last for 30 years' and 'ah yes, but it’s not like my music'. March 27, 2002 - Pictured here, Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC was spotted at a nightclub in Los Angeles on Friday night with whom Entertainment Tonight identified as a dancer who had appeared in one of *NSYNC's videos. The couple is said to have partied all night and left together. Meanwhile, former girlfriend Britney Spears when asked at a press conference in London if she was in an intense relationship answered, "I wouldn't say an intense relationship."

March 27, 2002 - Splash has photos of Britney Spears and her 'Crossroads' co-star Anson Mount, as well as Charlotte Church at the premiere of the film in London on Monday night. Check out the pictures here.

March 27, 2002 - BBC reports Britney Spears did not meet fans and sign autographs at a film première on Monday because of safety fears, according to a spokesperson from film company Momentum. The spokesperson said, "It was in fact her decision to go back outside twice to wave to the crowds. However, after assessing the situation on the ground, it was deemed a security risk by all involved for her to venture too far into the crowds." Read more.

March 27, 2002 - London's Capital FM spoke with Britney Spears before her 'Crossroads' premiere in England on Monday. Britney commented on Enrique Iglesias' 'Hero' saying, "It's cool though. I think Jennifer Love Hewitt's really pretty. He kisses a girl in every video." Asked if she's into rock music, she said, "Yeah. I love Aerosmith, I love Limp Bizkit - yeah, definitely. Who knows what I'll do in the future, but I'm definitely inspired by a lot of rock stuff. I could totally see myself doing some Sheryl Crow stuff!" March 27, 2002 - Dominic Mohan of The Sun sounded off on Britney Spears after the singer/actress virtually ignored her fans at the premiere of 'Crossroads' in London on Monday. Mohan wrote, "Britney, for goodness sake, you are only 20 but you are beginning to behave like the diva to end all divas. March 27, 2002 - The Sun reports Britney Spears has again been spotted drinking a non-Pepsi product, this time a soft drink that gives you wings... Red Bull. Britney was spotted flanked by her bodyguards swigging a can of the drink when leaving her hotel.

March 26, 2002 - The New York Post is in glee after Britney Spears finally broke down and admitted during a press conference in London that she's "not [in] an intense relationship with anyone at the moment." The media at the conference were warned not to ask about *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake, her 'virginity', or September 11. The Post had orginally broken the story that the couple had split two weeks ago.

March 26, 2002 - America Online and Pepsi-Cola, today announced a marketing agreement to create the 'Pepsi Backstage Sweepstakes' to bring fans a chance to win tickets to Britney Spears' upcoming summer concert tour. As part of the agreement, America Online also will offer custom programming featuring a host of Britney Spears online offerings including backstage footage, Britney's Pepsi commercials, photos, tour information and more. March 26, 2002 - Britney Spears enraged over 3,000 British fans at the premiere of her new film 'Crossroads' when she bypassed the walkabout and failed to sign any autographs for those who had waited at London's Leicester Square on Monday night. After fans chanted her name, Britney made a brief appearance on the cinema's balcony, but still many of her younger fans were left in tears, while older fans booed. Read more. March 26, 2002 - Britney Spears said Monday at a British news conference for 'Crossroads' that she's not "in an intense relationship with anyone," fueling speculation that she and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake have broken up. Britney later told ITV, "People talk about my private life. That goes with what I do. You have to accept that," she said. "But if they ask about it, I say it's none of your business." Read more.

March 26, 2002 - Shakira was interviewed by the Sunday Mirror where she addressed her change to blond hair and comparisons to Britney Spears. Shakira said, "People say Britney and I are alike because we're both blonde, petite and we started in this business very young. But we're two very different artists. March 26, 2002 - BBC reports thousands of young pop fans are gathering in London's West End for the première of Britney Spears' new film 'Crossroads', which is being held at Odeon Leicester Square and should be beginning as I type. March 25, 2002 - The big story in this week's National Enquirer alledging that the romance between Britney Spears and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake ended after Spears got a false positive pregnancy test and Justin was spooked afterwards has been posted. A source told the tabloid, "Justin was even more freaked out than Britney when she told him an abortion was out of the question. She said if it turned out that she really was pregnant, there would be only one solution--they'd have to get married right away." Apparently Justin wasn't going for that idea. Read more.

March 24, 2002 - Sunday's New York Post blind item asks: "Which club-hopping pop star doesn't drink when she hits the town because she's high as a kite on 'ecstasy'? It's a convenient way for her to get messed up yet still look like a goodie-goodie in public." Given the Post's focus on partying Britney Spears lately, one might make her the likely target. Page Six also sounds miffed by the US Weekly story that borrowed largely from their reports.

March 23, 2002 - Britney Spears spoke with reporters at a Madrid press conference Thursday where she was asked if she considered herself a role model. Britney replied, "Honestly, I do not see myself like a model to follow. Rather I would like to be reason for inspiration. I know that many girls pay attention to me and they imitate me. But I only feel responsible for my small sister of 11 years, Jamie Lynn, that she interprets me of the girl in the film and is going to begin a career in television." Read more.

March 22, 2002 - MTV Primtime Players reported Thusday night that a spokesperson for Britney Spears said the singer has scrapped plans to use the 'Pinky' nickname given to her by *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake for her new restaurant scheduled to open during May on East 41st Street in New York. The eatery will be run by restaurateur Bobby Ochs, who has previously teamed with celebrities Marla Maples and Patrick Swayze, and will feature moderately priced American bistro.

March 22, 2002 - The New York Post is going as far as saying Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's publicist Lisa Kasteler is looking like a liar in her denial the couple had split. They report the *NSYNC star was spotted boozing it up with six exotic bombshells as the group downed six trays of kamikaze shots at Las Vegas Hard Rock hotel nightclub Baby's before all of them left together in Timberlake's limo. A spy told the Post, "He sure didn't seem to be missing Britney."

March 22, 2002 - The National Enquirer reports Justin Timberlake got spooked out of his relationship of more than two years with girlfriend Britney Spears after she took a pregnancy test that came back positive. A source told the tabloid, "Britney and Justin had sex, yes, sex, all the time." Fortunately it was a false alarm, but enough to scare off the *NSYNC star.

March 22, 2002 - Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun Times spoke with a close friend of *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake on the conflicting reports he and Britney Spears are split up. The friend said, "There may be second thoughts on both sides. ...They may get back together, but believe me, they are not together now." March 22, 2002 - CDNow.com reports Nikka Costa will be the opening act on Britney Spears' forthcoming Dream Within a Dream North American summer tour which is set to kick off May 24 in Las Vegas. Costa will support the tour from the start until June 16 in Houston, while Spears continues on until July 22.

March 21, 2002 - Glenn Gamboa of Newsday was at last week's South by Southwest Music Conference where he spoke with Jeff McClusky, president of Chicago-based radio promotion company McClusky and Associates about the record industry's need for someone new to boost sales. McClusky said, "There's a lot of looking for the Next Big Thing, especially as it seems Britney, *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys have run their course. They drew massive sales for a period of time. The emphasis now goes to finding what the next trend is. Right now, there isn't a Thing." Read more.

March 21, 2002 - Britney Spears mother Lynne posted a new diary entry on Britney's official site on Wednesday. Lynne revealed, "Britney went to New York for four days. She and Jenny, her friend, stayed with Bryan. Brit and Jenny enjoyed spending time together, since they had not seen each other in a while. They shopped every day! Bryan and Lauren took them out on the town a few times too. One of those nights, they all came in to a real mess! Brit had left a candle burning in front of an air vent. March 21, 2002 - Star magazine reports Britney Spears is planning to follow in the footsteps of Madonna, Cher, and Tiffany by dropping her last name. She says she’s noticed that artists with long successful careers usually have one name. Well, maybe she doesn't want to follow in the footsteps of Tiffany then!

March 21, 2002 - Jeannette Walls of MSNBC reports the stalker claiming to be going after Britney Spears is in fact Ruben of WorldOfBritney.com. Ruben is countering the talk saying Britney's handlers are going after him because he shut down the site recently and attacked Spears, Lynne, and management at Jive. Ruben told the Swedish press, "I’d had enough. I’m disappointed in how people around her see her just as a product, and not as a human being. They constantly worked against me and wanted to control everything on the site... They’re angry because I took down the site and wrote what I did." Funny thing is, Ruben was in San Diego when Britney was in Sweden.

March 21, 2002 - Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears spokeswoman Lisa Kasteler tells USA Today that rumors of the couple being broken up are untrue. Lisa insisted, "They love each other very much and have not broken up. To set it straight, both of them are very busy and focusing on their careers... The demands on their time have naturally created a significant time apart, which could be misconstrued as a more permanent situation. March 20, 2002 - Ananova reports Britney Spears wrote the theme tune to the new television advertising campaign in which she appears alongside soccer stars David Beckham, Renaldo, and others. Britney said of the ad spots in a Pepsi press release, "Kicking the football around in Pepsi's ad brought back some great memories for me. March 20, 2002 - The Hollywood Reporter says Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, and R. Kelly are amongst those that will their music in a new format intended to replace the CD. Jive Records will be the first label to commit their roster to the new DataPlay format. DataPlay discs are the size of a large coin in a clear plastic shell that hold more than 11 hours of compressed music files. Read more.

An insider said of Britney's stalker, "When she arrived... she was surrounded by a lot of security. She has her regular bodyguards, plus some extra people. When asked if she gets compared to fellow Maverick artist Alanis Morissette, Branch said, "I always say it's very flattering to be compared to anyone who's been successful in this business. Obviously Alanis has been more than successful and I can definitely say I'm a fan of hers. A lot of people say I'm a happy version of Alanis Morissette and I just say 'Just wait 'till I have more boyfriends and I'll sound exactly the same!' When Carson asked about why they worked with Britney Spears, they said, "Justin hooked it up because we worked with him on 'Girlfriend' he was like I think you guys should work with Britney and she came to the studio. March 19, 2002 - Aftonbladet has a photo of Britney Spears in Stockholm for her one day appearance in support of 'Crossroads.' There are a couple of articles in Swedish referring to Britney's weekend spotting with Sweden's own Marcus Schenkenburg (aka 'The Swedish Meatball') and apparently she made a stop at Rigoletto. March 19, 2002 - Reuters reports Britney Spears arrived in Stockholm late on Sunday for a one-day visit to the Swedish capital to promote her new film 'Crossroads', though few waited for a glipse to see her. Only two young girls took time from school to see her emerge from her Stockholm hotel. They also mention the shuttering of WorldOfBritney.com by Sweden's own Ruben Garay. March 19, 2002 - World Entertainment News Network reports Tiffany wishes she could have been as provocative as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera during her run atop the pop charts in the 80's. Tiffany said, "It was not appropriate for me to wear anything like a bustier or to be sexy. It was big hair and hoop earrings and jean jackets. There is no way I could pull off what Britney is pulling off now. It was a totally different time." Read more.

March 19, 2002 - Crain's New York Business reports Britney Spears is set to be co-owner of a New York City restaurant scheduled to open in May. The name of the restaurant is tentatively called Pinky -- the nickname given to her by Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC.

March 19, 2002 - News of the World spoke with Britney Spears for her comments on reports she's broken up with *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake. Britney explained, "We haven't split up. I love Justin and we are still together." Britney admitted to having an argument with Justin, "We had a huge row which ended in us both slamming the phone down but things are OK now. We are trying to find time to see each other but our schedules are just too busy." As for all the hoopla, a record executive said, "There's been Britney hysteria since the Justin story blew up. March 19, 2002 - The New York Post reports Britney Spears continued her partying in New York over the weekend before her one night in Sweden when she and three gal pals turned up at the opening of the Sullivan Room. A couple of guys at their next stop, Life, who tried to sneak behind the curtain that hid Britney's table in the VIP lounge, were caught and subsequently kicked out of the club. Their next stops were the nightclub Go followed by Lotus, all with several bodyguards in tow.

March 19, 2002 - The Sun has a photo of Britney Spears wearing a busty jean outfit in Sweden yesterday while trying hard to force a smile from the premiere of 'Crossroads.' A pal of Spears told the Sun, "It’s a tough time for her at the moment. She is having to battle through a hectic promotional schedule while getting over Justin." Check out the photo here.

March 18, 2002 - According to a forum posting at abstracts.net, Britney Spears was interviewed by JoJo from KIIS FM this weekend where she talked briefly about her clothing line and her sister. JoJo then said, "Now I know I'm not supposed to ask you this, but what's up with you and Justin?" Britney's quick response, "Oh my God.... my rides here, I gotta go!" and then she just hangs up the phone. Read more.

March 18, 2002 - Norm Clarke of the Las Vegas Review Journal spoke with an *NSYNC spokeswoman Saturday night when the group did their radio promotion in The Palms High Roller Lounge. Melinda Bell says the group is taking "a little hiatus" of about eight months and should be back together by early next year. She explained, "They have not had one day off in five years." And as for the persistent rumors that Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears have ended their longtime relationship, she said it was "just a rumor. They are all laughing about it; Justin's laughing about it." Rumors had it that Britney was at Friday's *NSYNC show at MGM Grand in the VIP section with a hat pulled low.

March 18, 2002 - The New York Daily News reports more details on the Britney Spears late night club appearance at Lot 61 Thursday night. Seems Marcus Schenkenburg, the male supermodel and former lover of Pamela Anderson had his eye on Spears. A spy said, "Marcus was looking at her from across the room. When he found out she was leaving to go to Lot 61, he joined them." The two danced at the club until 3 a.m., when Spears left with her brother. The spy added, "He told her he was off to Switzerland, and that he hoped to see her when he got back. She seemed to approve."

March 17, 2002 - The New York Post reports Britney Spears was spotted with a couple of hunks at Lot 61 dancing atop a table. Among those looking on was male supermodel Marcus Schenkenberg. The singer entered the club with the two guys, six girlfriends, and a bunch of bodyguards on Thursday. The party enjoyed five bottles of Cristal champagne before wobbling out at 3:30 a.m. Before that, the still underaged Britney was spotted boozing at Bungalow 8. The Post reports when *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake broke off their relationship by telephone, Britney retaliated by putting Timberlake's $250,000 diamond "friendship ring" on her middle finger. March 17, 2002 - Peoplenews.com reports Britney Spears, David Beckham, and Brazil’s Rivaldo will unfortunately not do their commercial spot for Pepsi on the same soccer field at once. The company said it was too expensive to fly all the stars in to make the appearance, and instead will digitally spice the separate clips to make it appear they are on the field together.

March 17, 2002 - The Herald Sun reports Britney Spears was devastated after seeing photos of her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake kissing the same woman outside a Mexican restaurant that he reportedly was dirty dancing with at a club in Los Angeles. She had planned to join her boyfriend at her new $9 million Miami penthouse in a break from touring later this month, but after seeing the photos she abruptly left the Paris premiere of Crossroads and booked a flight home to Louisiana. March 16, 2002 - IMDB reports Sarah Jessica Parker vetoed the planned appearance by Britney Spears in the HBO hit 'Sex In The City.' A source claimed Parker fumed, "I worked too damned hard to get this show to where it is today, and I'll be damned if I'm going to be upstaged by a Mouseketeer." Another source on the set explained, "When it was announced Britney would appear on the show, Sarah felt it was nothing but a casting gimmick. And she wasn't happy that a 20-year-old would make 36-year-old Sarah look like a much older woman."

March 16, 2002 - US Weekly reports *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake broke the news to girlfriend Britney Spears that their romance was over from Tacoma on March 4 while Britney was in Los Angeles (there were several reports Britney was in Seattle). A source said Justin was "under a lot of pressure these days. He's embarking on a solo career at the end of April. It can take its toll on young lovers." A source close to Britney added, "They are on the rocks, but no one's saying why." Before Monday's concert in Anaheim, a young boy asked Timberlake if the rumors were true and Justin replied, "Girls are trouble; stay away from them." Another said the pair could just be having temporary problems, "They tend to fight a lot."

March 16, 2002 - The Sun spoke with Ali G on whether he'd consider dating her now that she's single. Ali said, "Listenup, dat geeza from NSYNC might have fought she woz a virgin but me know for a fact she ain't. March 15, 2002 - E! Online gossip guru Ted Casablanca weighed in on the much rumored split between Britney Spears and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake when asked by a reader. Ted said, "Officially, of course, Brit-babe has denied the split-up rumor. But unofficially, a B&J insider weighed in with this: 'My gut says there are probs for them; otherwise, why would Brit ever hang out with Tara Reid? Maybe they didn't break up, but I'm rather confident they're having some issues. My guess is she would be the hottest ticket on the Hollywood scene, should they break up.'"

March 14, 2002 - The Sun did a weeks after the fact story on Justin Timberlake's lunch date with a mystery brunette, which they cite as perhaps the same woman he was spotted dirty dancing with a few days ago at Hollywood nightclub A.D. An insider that witnessed the meeting told the Sun, "Justin’s lunch date was so cloak and dagger. They arrived separately at a Mexican restaurant but she joined him at his table and they ate together for over an hour." Read more.

March 14, 2002 - The Sun reports Britney Spears will head back home alone to visit her mother after her European promotional tour that had several cancellations along the way, including a 'Top Of The Pops' appearance. A source said, "Britney’s world has collapsed and she’s in tatters. Her fairytale life has turned into a nightmare." March 14, 2002 - The Toronto Star reports Sonia Muckle, VP of publicity at Jive Records is denying reports that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC have broken off their two year plus relationship. Muckle refused to say more. "We do not comment on her private life," she said. Britney's L.A. publicist, Lisa Kasteler, refused comment on the story.

March 14, 2002 - Britney Spears was on Access Hollywood from the premiere of her 'Crossroads' movie in Paris where she was again asked about the status of her two year plus relationship with Jusitn Timberlake of *NSYNC. Britney said of the breakup reports, "That's not true."

March 14, 2002 - Lisa Gabrielle of Nerve.com gave her thoughts on the current dilemma Britney Spears is in, and whether to admit to not being a virgin. Lisa said, "Britney no longer has that patina of innocence, but she can't grow up. She's old enough to have sex. She can't get away with twirling her hair around her fingers and shrugging off the controversy she may arouse by 'just being who she is'. March 14, 2002 - The Sun reports Britney Spears was furious after Jennifer Lopez wore the identical flowery Dolce & Gabbana frock given to both singers. Britney was told by D&G that she'd be first to be able to wear the outfit, but J.Lo turned up to the Grammy awards wearing it. A source told the tabloid, "Britney was furious, I can't repeat the comments she made." Instead of premiering the dress on Italian TV, she wore a shapeless sparkly outfit instead.

March 14, 2002 - Katherine Spafford of UniverCity spoke with Britney Spears recently and asked the singer about what it is that Madonna seems to dig with her. Britney said, "I don’t know what it is about me that she digs [laughs]. I love the fact that when she goes on stage she is so amazing. She is one of the best entertainers of all time. I love the way she controls the audience. The fact that she has been able to do it all, I respect that. She has been able to do movies and she has got a beautiful kid. I respect that a lot. The *NSYNC singer was "bumping and grinding" with a dark curly-haired beauty, according to a spy who said, "I think Britney was the last thing on his mind." She even edged-out pop rivals Christina Aguilera #7 & Mandy Moore #19. J.Lo came it at #4, while Shakira was #9, just slipping by Pink at #10.

March 10, 2002 - The New York Post reports Britney Spears has broken up with her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake. Britney was spotted drowning her sorrows with party animal Tara Reid at Les Deux Cafe in Hollywood on Monday night, and again the next night at the Standard... But wait a minute, Spears was spotted by several people at the *NSYNC concert in Tacoma, also on Monday night, many claiming to have gotten her autograph. Spears' rep, Lisa Kasteler, had no comment to the Post.

March 10, 2002 - Top Britney Spears fan site WorldofBritney.com has closed down after a year and a half of operations. The site's owner, Ruben Garay, primarily blamed his decision on "Britney Spears is not the same person she used to be" and no longer caring about her fans. Ruben also blamed the constant pressure from Jive Records who threatened lawsuits and attempted to control the site's content. Meanwhile, Ruben revealed the only reason Britney's mother Lynne is providing occasional diary updates is because she's being paid to do it. March 10, 2002 - World Entertainment News Network reports Britney Spears has explained the details behind the break-in to her Hollywood Hills mansion last month during the premiere of 'Crossroads'. Britney said, "I don't think our security system was on. Our security people turned everything off, unfortunately. But they got the guy. It's the first time something like this has happened but it makes you appreciate your security and the people who protect you." The intruder is currently under evaluation at a California hospital.

March 9, 2002 - Lynn Barker of Teen Hollywood spoke with Samantha Mumba ahead of 'The Time Machine' release today. When asked if she's seen the films by other pop artists like Britney Spears or Mandy Moore, Mumba said, "No because I just came to the states and they weren’t out in Ireland. I wouldn’t compare any of the roles. They are very different. This film was very challenging and extremely technical with all the CGI effects and everything. March 8, 2002 - An *NSYNC fan on the abstracts.net message board shared details of her meeting with *NSYNC on Wednesday during a radio interview with her brother Strawberry, who is the DJ to the Bay Area's 94.9 FM evening shift. nsyncgirlygirl wrote, "I was in total shock when JC and Chris Kirkpatrick did the interview on the radio. They were right there next to me. Like whoa!" She also said Britney was at the *NSYNC show later and she met her and got Spears' autograph. March 7, 2002 - Oakland, California radio stations are reporting Britney Spears is in town to see boyfriend Justin Timberlake and his *NSYNC bandmates perform tonight at Oakland Coliseum Arena.

March 7, 2002 - Tiffany called in to KISS 106.1 in Seattle this morning and talked about her Playboy spread. When asked about who would be next to pose nude for the magazine, Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera, Tiffany guessed, "Britney." March 6, 2002 - WENN reports Dame Edna is set to team up with Britney Spears in AN 'Audience With Dame Edna Everage'. The Australian cross-dressing host will host the show and Britney will answer questions and perform. March 5, 2002 - KARK TV reports fans lined up outside of Alltel Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas, for Britney Spears' show at the arena on July 20. One man waiting in line revealed, "We came to buy Britney Spears tickets, for me, my daughter and my wife. The whole family's going."

March 5, 2002 - Ray Westbrook of the Avalanche Journal reports fans of Britney Spears braved below freezing temperatures in Lubbock, Texas to pick up tickets to her concert at United Spirit Arena on June 14. The tickets were made available Saturday morning, and fans were prepared for the cold. Kim Thompson, a Texas Tech sophomore revealed, "We brought a tent, we've got eight sleeping bags, we have a kerosene heater — and everybody wears like eight layers of clothes." As for why she'd do such a thing just to see Britney, she explained, "She's an individual, and she's not afraid to be who she is." Read more.

March 4, 2002 - The cover story in this past week's Star was the problems Lynne Spears is having with news that her daughter Britney Spears is living with *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake at the pair's $3 million mansion in Los Angeles. Lynne has reportedly complained to friends, "The whole situation has really got me upset. I've always supported Justin and Britney's relationship and I've always wanted Justin for my son-in-law." March 2, 2002 - Justin Timberlake called in to Z100 in Portland ahead of *NSYNC's opening night concert there on Sunday. Justin talked about his acting gigs on SNL and girlfriend Britney Spears' job in doing 'Crossroads.' Justin insisted that if the couple ever get married he'll be the first to come out and say it. One of them, Louise Elliott, creator of The Anti Britney Homepage, told him, "I don't think she's talented. She sings a lot of songs she didn't write [and] performs dance moves that someone else has told her to do. She hasn't chosen to be a singer for the music. She's in it for the fame and for the money." March 2, 2002 - The 'Britney-A' virus is the latest of the spree of celebrity based worm to hit the net under the disguise of containing sexy pictures of the celeb. The new threat arrives with the subject line 'RE:Britney Pics'. The attachment is named 'BRITNEY.CHM.' Opening it causes the worm to send itself to all addresses listed in the victim's Outlook address book.

March 2, 2002 - Foxnews.com's Roger Friedman reports Britney Spears showed an incredible lack of knowledge on the subject of musical history, having no idea who both Yoko Ono or Linda McCartney were. Britney explained, "I'm sorry, I'm very young." Meanwhile, insiders tell Roger that her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake has a solo album that is over halfway completed and one insider that has heard some of it told him, "It's going to be huge." March 1, 2002 - The Sun has a photo feature of the ladies at last night's Grammy awards who have signaled a return to the popularity of curls not seen since the 80s. Only Jennifer Lopez seemed to be skipping the trend led by Britney Spears at the Los Angeles bash. A guest at the show told the Sun, "When Britney walked on stage people did a double take to check out her long blonde curly hair. She looked stunning." Another added, "The curls made Britney look her young age. It is a softer image than she sometimes sports — a girlie, romantic look." March 1, 2002 - The Sun reports the cardboard and lifesize Britney Spears cutouts in the UK are under 24 hour guard after several were snatched ahead of the UK release of 'Crossroads.' The cutouts are being used outside of UK cinemas to plug the film's UK release.

March 1, 2002 - MTV's Kurt Loder has a great rundown of last night's Grammy awards and much of what he had to say is hard to argue with. Loder said of the Britney Spears - Matthew Perry banter "Who writes this stuff?" As for the 'Lady Marmalade' performance: "It was interesting to watch Christina Aguilera dominating the multi-diva "Lady Marmalade" extravaganza with her soaring voice — and then watch as Patti LaBelle popped up out of nowhere, in full shriek, and simply took over." Loder wasn't so kind with Nelly Furtado, who he called "the irritating Canadian." Read more.

March 1, 2002 - Lynne Spears posted an update on her daughter Britney's latest goings-on ahead of last night's Grammy awards. Lynne said, "Britney had a restful vacation at home. She loves her uninterrupted family time. Brit refuels and uses her time to do only the things she loves most." As for what she's doing after the Grammys, Lynne adds, "After the Grammy’s she’ll also be working on her next video, 'Overprotected.' Britney leaves for the overseas promotional tour next." March 1, 2002 - Scott Huver of Hollywood.com spoke with Britney Spears about what she wants from a man and how well boyfriend Justin Timberlake from *NSYNC delivers on her needs. Britney said, "A guy doesn't have to do all that for me, as long as I can just be with the person I love and be intimate with them and have a good conversation with them." As for Justin? "Oh my goodness, Justin surprises me all the time with so many things and I've never been in a relationship like that. He totally fascinates me on that level...He's just a very cool guy and being in his presence just makes me... I don't want to go into detail about what he does! [laughing]" Read more.

Britney Spears will travel to Italy, Germany and England in March to promote the release of her movie starring debut in the teen comedy 'Crossroads.' She will later travel to Japan and Australia in late April to promote her movie and album.

March 1, 2002 - US Weekly reports Britney Spears was recently spotted at a Borders book store in West Hollywood picking up a copy of Kim Cattrall's recently released sex manual 'Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm'. A witness told the mag, "She very casually came in with her bodyguard and picked up the book." Cattrall starred as Britney's mother in her film debut 'Crossroads'.

March 1, 2002 - Alev Aktar of the New York Daily News gave his thoughts on the outfits worn by the women who attended the Grammys on Wednesday. Aktar said of Aguilera, "She was obviously shooting for a Hollywood glamour look with red lipstick, penciled eyebrows and platinum blond curls. But it came off more Mae West than Marilyn Monroe." Meanwhile, his thoughts on Spears were: "Britney Spears sprayed on a bright red dress. With her big blond hair and Chiclets smile, she looked like an '80s supermodel." Read more.
