April 26, 2003 - Us Weekly spoke with Britney Spears' hairstylist Kevin Mancuso about the singer's new brunette hairdo, which he teamed with colorist Steve Amendola in creating. "We've done a million versions of sexy blonde hair," he explained. "Britney has been wanting to change her look for a while. It was time!" The inspiration? "The music for her next CD," Mancuso answered. "The look is edgier - but beautiful."

April 26, 2003 - The Western Mail reports smoking is reclaiming a "sophisticated" and "cool" reputation as pop idols such as Britney Spears and Charlotte Church are snapped cigarette in hand, alarming doctors and anti-smoking activists who say the girls also turn to smoking to stay thin, risking their long-term health. "The big question is, where are these girls getting this information from, that smoking and being thin is cool?" asked Amanda Sandford, of the anti-smoking pressure group ASH. "The answer is, from the media they read and the films they watch - even the occasional photograph of a celebrity or super model smoking is enough to register in a young girl's mind and she will consciously absorb that information." April 26, 2003 - Jaime Richards of the Alameda Times-Star profiled how kids can be unbelievably and blatantly mean, fueled by jealousy. Richards writes, "When it comes to celebrities, girls and boys react in the same silly, predictable way. Boys, jealous that superstars like Justin Timberlake and Nelly are rich, famous and desired by millions of girls, absurdly claim that these handsome stars are gay. April 26, 2003 - Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst recently chatted with Steve the Producer from 107.7 the End in Seattle recently. He talked about the new album, his stance on the war in Iraq, his relationships, and spoke extensively about the Britney Spears situation. Fred says 'Just Drop Dead' is not about Britney, but "she did contribute to the energy." He says "I never really thought that I'd ever like Britney Spears" because "I hate pop music." As for her brush-off of the relationship, he says, "I really felt like I needed to stand up for myself... She wanted to start war with me or something." He added, "I did not want to like her." April 26, 2003 - The Enquirer reports Britney Spears has flipped for Palms hotel co-owner George Maloof, despite their 17 year ago difference. "Brittney really flipped for George," said a source close to the singer. "She told a friend she wants to be involved in a romance with a real man like George. She said, 'I'm tired of boys, I need a man'." And the attraction is mutual. "George is totally enchanted by Britney and he invited her to his hotel so he could get a chance to meet her," a fried of Maloof's revealed. "He did his best to spoil her - he treated her like a trophy girlfriend."

April 25, 2003 - British boyband trio Busted were full of praise for *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake, impressed with his sexual conquests. Asked if Britney was their favorite babe, James said, "Yeah, she's our favourite." Charlie explained, "I still love Britney, but I also love Tara Reid. And Justin Timberlake has pulled them both. Online reports Britney Spears, her mother Lynne, and Big Rob visited the West Village Mexican restaurant Panchito's, where the Spears duo was less than impressed with the restaurant's environment. April 12, 2003 - Extra TV caught up with Sacramento Kings' co-owner George Maloof at Thursday night's Lakers/Kings game where the mogul set the record straight about reports he was dating a much younger Britney Spears. He says, "Well, we're friends... We're just friends. She's a great girl." George admitted he spent at least one evening with Spears during her recent stay at The Palms. Maloof says, "I taught her how to play blackjack one night and she tried to teach me how to sing ... She's a much better blackjack player than I am a singer."

April 12, 2003 - InTouch magazine has more details behind the rekindling romance between Britney Spears and *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake. The two have been spotted at the White Lotus nightclub in Los Angeles at least 4 times together since January. "They were in their little private room, cuddling and being romantic. It was obvious they're back on," says a source who saw them at the Lotus on March 28th. "They arrived in a group, but quickly splintered off." After cuddling together on the plus red leather banquettes, "they left together out the back door with their arms around each other."

April 12, 2003 - Extra TV caught up with celebrity reporter Robin Leach to get his take on reports that Britney Spears is dating George Maloof. Leache says Britney met George when she checked into his Vegas hotel to stay in the 'Real World' suites. When her room was booked for 'The Real World' reunion party, George was forced to upgrade her. Leach says, "He had to move Britney to a penthouse suite." To make up for the inconvenience, George comped the singer a day at his spa. The meeting led to dinner, dancing, and plenty of speculation. April 5, 2003 - The Enquirer reports that during a recent drive through Hollywood stopping at the Four Seasons Hotel, Britney Spears freaked out when her brand new Mercedes convertible's ragtop jammed when it was halfway opened. Britney flashed a "help me... I'm a star look" when a charming man walked up and said, "I think I can be of help." Britney suspected he might be hitting on her and said, "I hope you're a mechanic." The man ID'd himself as a Mercedes-Benz official, proving it by reprogramming her car computer on the spot and fixing her ragtop problem.

April 4, 2003 - Just after it was reported Britney Spears was spotted dancing with George Maloof, the Daily Mail reports the singer is dating his 36 year old brother Phil Maloof. "She was staring straight into his eyes and laughing at all his jokes," a fellow diner said. "It was clear that she was infatuated with him, and he couldn't keep his eyes off her." April 3, 2003 - The Dallas Morning News reports Samsung brought Britney Spears, her mother, father, and sister in to appear at the Samsung/RadioShack 500 on Sunday at the Texas Motor Speedway. The Spears family took 15 rooms at the Hotel ZaZa, where they celebrated the 12th birthday of Jamie Lynn. Dale Jr. talked racing to the pop tart and offered her the chance to ride along with him someday. "It was cool," Dale Jr. said. "She was telling me how she went around the track in a two-seater car and was hooked for then on.
