May 31, 2003 - Kiley Dean spoke with RollingStone.com about her former job as backup singer for Britney Spears and her forthcoming debut 'Simple Girl', due July 15th. Dean says she soaked up what Spears was going through while on tour in preparation for her own solo career. "I would watch everything," Dean said. "How you've got travel, how you've got to be up at a certain time, how you've got to rest or you can't be on top of your game. I was taking it all in, because I knew I was going to be doing it. May 28, 2003 - Us Weekly reports Britney Spears has sold her 6,000-square-foot Hollywood Hills she used to share with *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake. The buyer was actress Brittany Murphy, who paid $5 million. It was quite a return for Spears, who paid $3 million for the home in 2001.

May 25, 2003 - Britney Spears attended a press conference to announce the launch of her first online charity auction of one of a kind Britney Spears memorabilia. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Britney Spears Foundation. The press conference was held at the W Court Hotel in New York City on Thursday (May 22). May 25, 2003 - The Philadelphia Inquirer reports U.S. District Judge Berle M. Schiller yesterday dismissed the copyright-infringement lawsuit filed by Philadelphia songwriters Michael Cottrill and Lawrence E. Wnukowski, who claimed Britney Spears' 'What U See (Is What U Get)' sounded like their song with the same title. Schiller wrote that the plaintiffs had not come up with any evidence proving that the writers of Spears' song - Swedes Jorgen Elofsson, David Kreuger, Per Magnusson and Rami Yacoub - had access to and copied their song before November 1999, when Spears recorded it in Stockholm. May 23, 2003 - The New York Post reports Britney Spears panicked last week when mother Lynne was rushed to Beth Israel Hospital after collapsing from what the singer thought was a "mickey" slipped into her drink. The two had "eaten at a nondescript Mexican restaurant in Midtown by the Theater District," a Spears pal said. "They had some margaritas, and later, Lynne was rushed to the hospital." An application was made in the British Virgin Isles to place two parent companies of Lancer Offshore Fund Group into administration last week. May 6, 2003 - Popdirt.com's last poll asking who has the best new hairdo saw 50.4% vote for Britney Spears' new brunette look, while 45.7% thought Christina Aguilera's black hair was the best transformation. Asked if they would still write songs about other stars such as Britney Spears now that they are popstars themselves, Charlie responded, "Yep. I think we might do a 'Britney Two' if I met her, I'd say 'Please sleep with me.' She's probably just slap me, but at least I'd have had her hand on my face." May 3, 2003 - Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun-Times spoke with a "key member of Britney Spears' team" who says the singer's relationship with casino and Sacramento Kings boss Phil Maloof. The insider says Spears is "very, VERY intrigued by Phil... I think this could develop into something quite serious." As for all the secrecy and denials: "Obviously, both Britney and Phil don't want to draw attention to themselves and often go out in public with a group--including his brother, George, and others. For those of you who don't know what 'Punk'd' is, it's a show hosted by Ashton Kutcher that involves playing huge pranks on Celebrities. Britney Spears is scheduled to be on 'Punk'd' next Monday."

"Anyone can sit down and write some boring artistic song." says Britney Spears. "Pop music is the hardest sh** to write." Which is what Britney's hard at work on for her as-yet-untitled fourth album, due this fall. "The subjects are really out there. It's about general things that teenagers go through that are real but nobody talks about. I really don't think that many people from my core audience will get it," she says fo her new material-including one song in which she raps. May 3, 2003 - AOL has a video clip showing People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in the world. It features a brand new Britney Spears photo shoot. The site also reports that Britney talked about her new album in Access Hollywood on Thursday. "I want people to either love it or hate it, nothing in between," she said. You can see the video here.

May 2, 2003 - Pop Star magazine recently caught up with Christina Aguilera and almost got through the whole interview without mentioning rival Britney Spears. After the interviewer promised "I won't even mention the B-word," Aguilera laughed, responding, "Thank God! B-word questions are just from people who don't care about music or who haven't done their research and just want to rehash old stuff that's already been dealt with. May 2, 2003 - Anonymous writes "Dr. Dre was just on a radio interview here in Milwaukee on our local radio station 100.7 V100. Dre and the DJ started talking about 50 Cent and Eminem. The DJ said, "Speaking of Eminem…he still got beef with little [Britney Spears] and [Christina Aguilera]?" Dre said something like, "I don’t know about the Britney sh** but I know he got the 'Dirrty' video on tape.""

May 2, 2003 - The New York Post reports Britney Spears was spotted quickly leaving Underbar in the Bryant Park Hotel after being asked to put out her cigarette. Smoking was recently banned in public locations indoors in the city.

Spears sent her pal in to straighten out her beefless bun.

Then he quickly moved things around. In the course of doing their job, the guys found a stash of VERY interesting items under the bed----a huge stack of pictures of Britney Spears! Some were in frames, others were clipped from mags. Sounds like an obsession!""
