July 26, 2004 - A source tells The National Enquirer that Britney Spears is being warned not to marry Kevin Federline by ex-lover Justin Timberlake. The *NSYNC star "told Britney she was crazy to get married," an insider revealed. "I heard that he told Britney, 'Don't make the biggest mistake of your life. The guy has two kids already. You shouldn't be doing this'." Timberlake's advice, as well as similar advice from a Hawaiian psychic, has led Britney "to give the decision the time and consideration no one believed she gave it before announcing to the world she was getting hitched," the insider said. July 26, 2004 - Britney Spears bought a bouquet of flowers to give to her fiance Kevin Federline to congratulate him on the birth of his second child with ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson on Tuesday (July 20). July 19, 2004 - J-Unit of TVGasm.com weighed in on the photo of Britney Spears that appeared in The Sun showing what appeared to be the singer exposing a nipple during a concert. He wrote, "I am sure you are going to hear many long-winded claims about the veracity of the Britney nipple shot. Mark my vote in the fake picture column. Looks fine at first glance, but under close inspection, there is some obvious Photoshop work being done. The person who is the source of this picture took a known photo of Britney and altered it, adding a large portion of the left boob to make it look natural. At about 300% (3X) magnification, you can see a large portion above the areola that was obviously blurred using the smudge tool. Magnify a little more, and you can see large portions of the left boob that have been sponged or smudged to try and blend the coloring of the shot together. The big give away here is that this really changed a lot of the shadows of her hair and some locks seemingly stop nowhere. My professional opinion is that this is about 90% a fake picture." If true, it would be the second time in a week that a Rupert Murdoch owned paper published a journalistically embarrassing photo, following last week's John Kerry picking Dick Gephardt as his runningmate photo in the New York Post.

July 19, 2004 - The New York Daily News reports Britney Spears' lawyer Martin Singer said they will sue The New York Post unless it prints a retraction after it splashed a photo of her guzzling what they said was whisky on its front page on Thursday. "Ms. Spears intends to file a lawsuit against the New York Post and Bill Hoffmann, the writer of the article, unless the paper immediately issues an appropriate retraction, apology and financial settlement," Singer said. Arif Alam, the clerk at Joe's Liquor in Venice, Calif., who rang up Spears' purchases on Monday afternoon, told the Daily News: "She did not buy any alcohol at all - no alcohol!" He insisted all Spears bought was a 10-milliliter bottle of Panax Red Ginseng Extractum for $1 and a can of Red Bull energy drink. Read more.

July 19, 2004 - Sources have confirmed to 'Entertainment Tonight' that the little bottle Britney Spears was photographed drinking was actually an herbal energy drink, not "whisky" as several tabloids reported. 'ET' also found the clerk at the convenience store where the supposed incident took place and he says Britney absolutely bought no booze, but did purchase a small bottle of ginseng and a carton of cigarettes. The agency of the photographer who snapped the photo caused most of the confusion, revising their initial claims in a statement: "According to our information, the bottle that Britney Spears was drinking from may or may not have been hard liquor. We are not prepared, at this stage, to confirm or deny the original information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

While Oren specializes in elegant, upscale weddings, "she's versatile, so if Britney decides to do something in keeping with her Louisiana roots, Yifat has also been known to use gingham tablecloths and burlap napkins for a more rustic look." July 2, 2004 - Anonymous writes "World of Britney reports that Britney Spears went to see 'The Notebook' with her sister Jamie Lynn and her fiance Kevin Federline, along with a few other people. They came into the movie late, and they left early. After the movie, Britney and her girlfriends went into a bathroom stall together and waited a little while. When she came out, it looked like she had been crying from the movie and left. She was limping a lot because of her leg, and she didn't look too good. Her face was puffy from crying and full of acne."

July 2, 2004 - MTV News has more details behind Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's interview with People magazine about their just-announced engagement and how Britney actually proposed to Kevin. "It wasn't like a 'Will you marry me?' It wasn't that straightforward," Federline said. "The way she said it was kind of beating around the bush. Still, I was taken by surprise. I thought the guy was supposed to ask the girl. So a couple of minutes went by and then I asked her. ... I wasn't really thinking about asking her right away, but I did without reservation. I'd known for a while that she's the one." Spears said yes — because she felt that this, unlike her quickie Vegas marriage to Jason Alexander that was later annulled, was the real deal.
