January 18, 2006 - Neil Sean of Sky News reports that after Sophie Ellis Bextor turned down the Cathy Dennis penned song 'Toxic' that enjoyed big success for Britney Spears, the former theaudience singer is crawling back to Dennis to write a song for her forthcoming album, 'Sweet Music'. January 18, 2006 - The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that after emptying two SUV's and moving Britney Spears and entourage into the top suite at the Aladdin, writer Norm Clarke hears the bellhops didn't get a dime for all their heavy lifting. Britney's hubby Kevin Federline was able to scrape enough cash to play blackjack at the Aladdin on Saturday. The couple were also joined Friday by Britney's sister Jamie Lynn at Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel.

January 18, 2006 - Britney Spears has removed the link to hubby Kevin Federline's official website from her own website, prompting some to wonder if the couple are again on the rocks or if K-Fed's explicit and degrading lyrics were deemed inappropriate to promote to her young female fans.

January 18, 2006 - AOL CityGuide LuxeLife's Robin Leach caught up with Britney Spears, Kevin Federline, and Britney's parents in Las Vegas. The pop princess revealed to Robin: "I grew up watching you on Lifestyles. I always wanted to live like that!" Leach writes, "Sometimes dreams do come true." He then asked the singer how she was enjoying motherhood. "I almost couldn't leave Preston tonight to get here," Spears said. "He was crying, and I've sort of made it a rule never to leave while he's crying. But mom came over to help and that quieted him down. I love being a mother, and I want to have more babies." January 18, 2006 - The Las Vegas Review Journal reports Britney Spears was spotted arriving Thursday night at the Aladdin with her baby, nanny and others in two black SUVs. The singer was joined by husband Kevin Federline later. Meanwhile, Spears' ex Justin Timberlake was joined by girlfriend Cameron Diaz Wednesday night at Piero's Italian Cuisine, as the *NSYNC star was in town promoting the new music service Urge.com.

January 18, 2006 - According to the National Enquirer, Britney Spears is enraged that her husband Kevin Federline wants to be on the new ABC TV reality show 'The Ex-Wives Club' with his ex-lover, Shar Jackson. "Britney is struggling to improve her marriage and Kevin seems to keep piling on reasons for Britney to get angry," an insider reaveled. "I think the last thing Britney wants right now is to worry about Kevin spending time with Shar!" Read more.

January 18, 2006 - Has giving birth to Sean Preston transformed Britney Spears into an environmentalist? "Since becoming a mom I have become so green," the singer said, according to World Entertainment News Network. "I am making sure that all my stuff is organic and I get rid of gargabe in a green way. Actually it is fun." Aiding the pop star's decision, the recently introduced organic Cheetos.

January 18, 2006 - The Mirror reports that a bra-less Britney Spears was guilty of showing a little too much while playing on a swing near her home in Santa Monica, California. "Britney was out for a walk with her baby [Sean] Preston and some friends when she had a go on the swings," an onlooker said. January 18, 2006 - The Herald Sun reports that two marketing firms asked 1744 consumers to rank 61 of the biggest brand newsmakers of the year -- products and celebrities -- on their performance in 2005 and prospects for this year. Oprah Winfrey was second on the list of predicted winners in 2006, while Britney Spears topped the predicted loser list, joined by Howard Stern and Donald Trump. Read more.

January 18, 2006 - The Sun reports that Britney Spears has become increasingly paranoid about her security after the birth of Sean Preston, recently firing her entire team of minders. "She called the security team into a meeting and accused them of getting too familiar," a source said. "It was a blow for some of her long-term minders who have been with her since the start." January 18, 2006 - Victoria Newton of The Sun is out with her predictions for 2006, and London's gossip maven is touting Paris Hilton as the new Britney Spears. "Warners have put millions behind Paris and are making her an international priority act for the spring," Newton writes. "Paris has drafted in the incredible writing powers of Cathy Dennis, who penned chart-toppers 'Toxic' for Britney and 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' for Kylie Minogue. If Cathy can't provide her with a hit, no one can. Paris will appeal to the same teenie girls, camp pop lovers and closet dad admirers as Britney." January 18, 2006 - A source tells Us Weekly that Britney Spears' struggle to regain her pre-pregnancy shape has taken a mental toll on the pop princess, hurting her self-esteem. "Britney was having a freakout moment," a source said, referring to her shopping trip in Las Vegas where she hid from shoppers and shutterbugs. "She felt she never looked worse." In fact, Spears was so worried about her appearance that while dining at Cheeseburger Las Vegas, she sent a manager to buy her makeup and a dress, which she changed into using the eatery's restroom. "She grabbed my arm and asked, 'Do I look okay?'," a server revealed.

January 18, 2006 - 'The Insider' correspondent Marc Malkin reports that Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline enjoyed a meal at Nobu restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The couple, joined by friends, dined on Kobe Beef, crunchy rock shrimp, tempura rolls and other delights. The Spears family skipped on partying and gambling because Spears' underage sister, Jamie Lynn, isn't allowed into the casinos and nightclubs.

January 18, 2006 - An insider tells Life & Style Weekly that when Britney Spears and her divorced parents recently reunited at a business function, hubby Kevin Federline saw her "all teary-eyed and hopeful" at the sight of her parents getting along. "Kev tried to divert attention from his own drowning marriage by planting in Brit's mind that her parents might reunite," the source suggested.

January 18, 2006 - Us Weekly spoke with a source about Kevin Federline's relationship with wife Britney Spears' family, which was put to the test when the couple hosted Christmas festivities at their Malibu home. "It is awkward," the insider revealed. "He feels he keeps having to defend himself, and [Spears] keeps having to defend him." More tension resulted when Britney and Kevin declined to celebrate New Year's Eve in Kentwood with the family, staying home instead. "There was a fight," another source told the mag. "It was between Britney and certain other family members in Kentwood, mad that Britney didn't go home. Some people say she should dump him."

The faux aspiring rapper phoned from his hotel room and commented on wife Britney Spears winning Mr. Blackwell's worst dressed list of 2005, discussed his new single 'Popo Zao', and debuted some other tracks from the album - including 'I Sharted In The Club', a Mandarin language rap, 'Another Guy Named Kevin', a 'Popo Zao' remix featuring the Ying Yang Twins and Dick Clark, 'Hymen Holocaust', and 'Shower You With My Love'. January 7, 2006 - Though OK! magazine features happy photos of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline window shopping in Los Angeles, a source tells the magazine that their marriage is doomed. "Brit is working out the finalities of their relationship," the insider said. "She is not happy with Kevin's party behavior and thinks his spending habits are ridiculous."

January 7, 2006 - The Mirror reports that Britney Spears made a quick outfit change while shopping in Malibu on Monday (December 26). "Britney was out with her sister Jamie Lynn and was dressed very casually in a long-sleeved Madonna Virgin Tour top and jeans," a fellow shopper explained. "She must have realised her outfit didn't do her justice though, as she went into a store and came out wearing a fitted black top she'd just bought. She looked so much more confident as it clung in all the right places."

January 7, 2006 - Though Jessica Simpson was to be in Hawaii with her family for the holidays, In Touch magazine's Dan Wakeford tells 'Extra' the singer decided to lay low in wake of her breakup with Nick Lachey. "Jessica is just not in the mood to party," Wakeford said. Additionally, Wakeford commented on the mag's report Britney Spears is ready for another baby, despite continued gossip her marriage to Kevin Federline is on the ropes. "Britney's marriage has been very rocky," Wakeford said. "And Britney feels one way to solve this is to have another baby."
