August 22, 2006 - Kurt B. Reighley of MSN Music argues "Christina Aguilera is a bona fide musician." Reighley explained, "Her days as a 'teen pop sensation' are long over. She turns 26 this year. She has built a credible pop catalog, one that has shown growth and a willingness to take risks. She has not dallied with TV shows, or children's books or pug rescue charities. Who among her contemporaries can say the same?" He argued that Britney Spears "would have to mount a one-woman production of Wagner's Ring Cycle to accrue anything close to credibility at this point," while Jessica Simpson continues her habit of "desperate recycling" with 'A Public Affair', "a cheap imitation of a Madonna classic." August 22, 2006 - GQ's Associate Editor Mickey Rapkin spoke with 'Extra' about their interview with Kevin Federline in the issue hitting newsstands next week. K-Fed set the record straight about his finances, stating, "I don't rely on my wife's money. I don't get any money from my wife." But because of that, finances for the rap newcomer are tight. "Kevin says that he's broke," Rapkin dished. "He made $2 million on the reality show 'Chaotic,' spent $200,000 on an engagement ring for his wife, bought an in-home recording studio and really has spent the rest of the money on the album." August 22, 2006 - A source tells Jeannette Walls of MSNBC.com that Kevin Federline's son Sean Preston and another baby on the way with wife Britney Spears could translate into a financial boon for the rap newbie. "Before he got married, Kevin was sitting down with lawyers, discussing legal and financial issues," the source explained. "He was sitting sort of slumped over with a baseball cap over his eyes and a lawyer was talking about how he had to sign a pre-nup and Kevin looked sort of bummed out. But then the lawyer explained that for every child the two of you have together, you would receive X amount of dollars. His eyes really lit up."

August 22, 2006 - Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Wednesday night, "OK! magazine is reporting that Britney Spears is in love with Charlie Sheen's line of children's clothes. She wants to get together with him so he can help her start her own line of children's clothes. Did you know Charlie Sheen had a line of children's clothes? Britney, are you sure those aren't really just tiny outfits for the hookers to wear when they come over? [Laughter] 'Oh, a little cheerleader outfit. Oh, a girl scout. I think that's what it is.'"

August 22, 2006 - On 'The Early Show' Monday, Bradley Jacobs, senior editor of Us Weekly magazine, predicted Britney Spears will be able to resurrect her career despite recent setbacks. "She lost control of her image a long time ago," Jacobs told co-anchor Tracy Smith. "When she first (rose to stardom), in the late '90s, early 2000s, she put out four albums in five years. In the media's presence, she was always very controlled and very protected. But she stopped working a couple of years ago, in the summer of 2004. Then the attention went to her personal life. August 7, 2006 - The Daily Star reports Britney Spears recently suffered several hours of false labor seven months into her second pregnancy. A source said, "Thankfully she's fine now but she had a real scare." The insider added that the singer's diet may been partially to blame. "She wasn't eating enough vegetables," the tipster said. "After indulging in junk food for her first two trimesters, she hired a nutritionist to help her follow a well-balanced diet."

August 7, 2006 - Jon LaLane, son of the famed exercise guru Jack LaLane, tells In Touch magazine he was fired as Britney Spears' pool boy for talking too much to her hubby, Kevin Federline. "I was hanging out a little bit," LaLane said. "She came out screaming at Kevin for lying around, then looked at me like I was to blame." LaLane got a call the next day from Britney's people, telling him not to report for work. "She wants Kevin on a leash," LaLane complained. "She fires everybody. I figured, 'Why not me?'
