November 26, 2006 - Life & Style Weekly reports Kevin Federline began secretly meeting with his lawyer, Mark Kaplan, to work out a divorce settlement deal with Britney as early as last May. The upstart rapper was planning to use the threat to seek sole custody of their son, Sean Preston, as leverage in a bid to reach a $10 settlement, plus their $10 million Malibu mansion. The source added, "Don't believe all the hype about that so-called sex tape. If there is a tape, its release won't help anyone involved -- especially Kevin." "This gentleman knew enough names and identified enough parties involved to indicate that the tape could exist!" November 26, 2006 - An insider tells Life & Style Britney Spears reached out to Madonna before announcing she was filing to divorce Kevin Federline. Not having the Material Girl's current phone number anymore, Britney called Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg in New York. "She just called and said, 'Can you tell Madonna I called to let her know I filed for divorce?'," the insider revealed. The judge found Spears has "put her modern sexuality squarely, and profitably, before the public eye" in a way that would make it unlikely for the magazine article to be found defamatory. Read more.
