April 30, 2000 - The New York Daily News today reports that Britney went on a wild spending spree in London recently, having turned a 45 minute "lunch break" into a buying binge that is reported to have set her back nearly $20,000 at shops like Gucci as well as toy stores where she bought goods for her sister.

April 29, 2000 - On the MTV.com homepage you may notice that Britney's interviewed by Chris Connelly. She says she'll probably vote for whoever her mom or dad says because she's too busy to study the candidates and adds that her mom tells her no tattoos and no drugs "Other than that, I can do anything else."

April 29, 2000 - Britney Spears was named in Teen People's upcoming "25 Hottest Stars 25 and Under" issue.

Online's Ted Casablanca is blowing the lid off the Britney and Justin rumors, claiming that a member of *NSYNC's camp says "Justin's got Britney wrapped around his finger," and added "When Britney and Justin are in the same town he has no problem going to the well. But most of the time, he plays the field." Supposedly Brit is unaware of Justin's playing ways.

April 27, 2000 - Dees Sleaze today dropped the bombshell today that Britney has confided in a recent interview that she is a virgin and will remain one until marriage... We'll believe that comment when we see it.

April 27, 2000 - Time Magazine is saying the ultimate winner in the Christina vs. Eminem saga is Britney, since the attention that is getting is giving her a rest from the tabloids ahead of her new album.

April 27, 2000 - Eminem's new video features him in a schoolgirl dress at the Grammy awards playing the roll of Britney... And no, we don't think he's a fan in his portrayal!

April 26, 2000 - More news on Britney's appearance in Hawaii, as the Honolulu Star Bulletin was on hand during her TV special taping and performance. As she hula danced with a young boy and performed a free show. Some fans were upset that she didn't stay after the show to sign autographs.

April 22, 2000 - Worldpop.com is reporting that Britney may be in a duet with *NSYNC for their next album. Lance Bass said in an interview "I talked to Britney about it the other day, maybe for our next album."

April 20, 2000 - If you thought the Britney vs. Christina rivalry wasn't heated enough as it is, we're hearing that Germany's Bravo magazine is revealing a possible relationship between Justin Timberlake and Christina. It's said that the big diamond ring that Christina was wearing on Men Strike Back was a friendship ring from Justin.

April 20, 2000 - Ok, we have no clue why the damn poll keeps resetting. Geez, we pray it's a programming glitch and not someone actually deleting the data file, can't imagine who'd bother! Anyways, Britney won poll's #1 and 2. Vote quickly, coz we don't even know when it'll reset again!

April 20, 2000 - Music legend Carole King tells E! Online's Ted Casablanca that music's preoccupation with looks, Britney and Christina being specifically mentioned, is anything new. She says "That's the way it's always been, but I don't think it keeps the talent from getting out." Ted later dissed Britney re: the comment.

April 18, 2000 - The Geritol Network (ie. CBS) had a Britney diss on their comedy show Ladies Man, as one of the character's in disbelief about the weather said "Yeah, and Britney Spears got that chest from a growth spurt"... Perhaps someone wants to fire off an email at CBS.com informing their writers that the chest is real... maybe sending them a link to Victoria's Secret wonderbra section will clue them in on other means of breast deception... errr, enhancement.

April 18, 2000 - z100 reported today that not only will Britney Spears be musical guest on her SNL appearance May 13, but also the host! The potential skits could blow the roof off a lot of rumors about her, let's hope this one's true!

April 18, 2000 - Eminem is attacking teen pop acts like Britney Spears calling them "f***ing commercial" and "trash" to the British mag "New Musical Express."

April 8, 2000 - Well we still haven't heard back from 93.3 FLZ though after hearing the tape, personally, I think the program was real, Nick was on March 30th, and they're supposed to replay the show April 28th at 7pm EST. The MP3 file that's been circulating is tough to say whether or not it sounds like Britney or Justin, especially since they'd sound different on the phone. Also, even though Justin was in Japan around that time, it is only a 6 hour flight LA to Tokyo... Did Nick stage this or was it the real deal?

April 6, 2000 - Well with Britney having a new album out, you guessed it, she's back on the online chat circuit, with an upcoming chat on AOL May 15th. And perhaps you don't think you'd ever get your question asked, well I'm proud to say she answered on of my, errr, 70 questions, when she was on a talkcity.com chat last fall, so give it a whack!

April 5, 2000 - Worldpop.com is reporting that the first radio station to begin playing Oops... I Did it Again had callers who were unimpressed with the song, and that it wouldn't be an instant classic like BOMT was.

April 5, 2000 - Last night Conan O'Brien cracked a Britney joke, saying that after she got stitched up from her accident, she was awoken in the hospital only to look at her chest and say "Wow, where did these large breasts come from?". Gee, how original!

April 4, 2000 - Pagesix.com reports today that Britney once thought about boycotting Entertainment Tonight after they humiliated her in interviewing a Dawson's Creek producer who had denied she was going to be in the show, contradicting what she'd told ET earlier.

April 2, 2000 - We're looking into what appears to be the fastest spreading rumor for Britney yet... It involves Brit, Justin, and Nick Carter on MP3. We suspect it is FAKE, but we're contacting the source for verification. Why, because there is no mention of it on the official site, strange considering it would be the biggest news story ever to come from the local radio station. Stay tuned.

April 1, 2000 - The New York Daily News is providing more details on Britney's Dirty Dancing, as well as a preview of Oops... I Did it Again, which insiders are calling a "Barbarella'-like dance video." Dirty Dancing apparently won't start filming until next January. There's also a few quotes from former pop diva Debby Gibson, who tells Britney "Basically, keep your head on straight 'cause it's a crazy ride."

April 1, 2000 - Here's a story from Sonicnet.com that we at Abstracts.net particularly enjoyed. An upcoming auction on Britney's official site, www.britneyspears.com, will feature a portrait of Britney painted by '60s pop artist Peter Max. The auction is likely to occur in April. When commenting on the painting, Max said "She loved the art, and was into the colors."

April 1, 2000 - More Britney Spears concert footage is popping up, this one taken by a audience member and posted on Usenet this week.

April 1, 2000 - Justin Timberlake was on Access Hollywood earlier this week deflecting questions about his dating of Britney Spears. When asked, he said he's dating many girls but none serious.

April 1, 2000 - Another autographed picture from eBay cropped up this week. The seller claims the autograph was obtained last year in New York, and currently the 8x10 has a whopping bid of $46 with a day and a half left.

April 1, 2000 - Britney Spears told Open House Party, a syndicated radio show, she is negotiating a deal for her to appear in a sequel to Dirty Dancing. We also hear that Ricky Martin may play opposite her, stay tuned.
