May 31, 2000 - Worldpop reports Britney is taking guitar lessons to show off on her upcoming tour, which she'll strum along during the Dear Diary song.

May 27, 2000 - Britney was on Teen People's "25 Hottest Stars 25 and Under" special last night. She showed off her dog "Baby" and says she's "completely normal" and that she loves shopping, talking on the phone with girlfriends, going to movies, and wanting tattoos and piercings. Britney loves to change her hairstyle and clothes every week. She says "I'm really shy around guys I'm attracted to."

May 24, 2000 - Well she didn't get near breaking the *NSYNC 1 week album sales mark of 2.4 million, her 1.3 million is the 2nd best ever and tops for a female. She told Access Hollywood right after hearing the news tonight "I'm so excited. I'm gonna call my mom right when I leave here. I can't believe it!"

May 24, 2000 - While Justin Timberlake isn't named in the thank you section of Britney's liner notes on the new album, she closes them by saying "And lastly, as I sit here twisting my hair -- wishing it was yours! -- thinking of if there is a way to thank you for all the lifts, smiles, and surprise visits -- you will be a part of my heart and soul ALWAYS!" [as Britney would say, 'awww, that's so sweet!]

May 24, 2000 - There was a guy on Rick Dees today from Texas offering $10 million to have Britney give up her virginity to him. It may have been a prank but he claimed it wouldn't be much money to him.

May 22, 2000 - WallofSound has an interview with Britney, and probably the most notable quote is "they would start staring at my chest. It really started affecting me. And obviously they knew it was false because my breasts aren't that big. I guess they just appear bigger on TV and everything." [they say TV adds 1 cup size...]

May 22, 2000 - Female readers of FHM magazine (uhh, they have female readers?) voted Britney Spears as the world's sexiest woman. The overall winner will be announced Friday.

May 21, 2000 - The New York Post's Page Six reports that Eminem is demanding that life size dolls of Christina, Britney, and *NSYNC bandmembers be 'noosed' up from the ceilings at One 51 for his CD release party Monday.

May 21,  2000 - The New York Daily News reports that Britney had to take a cab home from the Spa nightclub in New York last week for Tearsheet. Seems her driver lost his keys to their car.

May 21, 2000 - Kid Rock took a stab at Britney Spears before his first song on SNL last night, saying something to this effect "I thought this was Saturday Night LIVE? We had Britney Spears lip syncing on here last week. I'm pissed off!".

May 20, 2000 - While Sonicnet reports Britney's new CD will be #1, the audience's age seems to be young. A Sam Goody manager told them "It's mostly young girls, and the older they are, the more embarrassed they are about buying it." The presumably disgruntled and jealous Wilson added "She's kind of skanky — that's gonna build resentment in people, especially girls."

May 20, 2000 - eBay has a great picture of Britney from a Jive PR up for bids. The 8x10 (item #336610838) is bid at $10 and ends May 25th.

May 19, 2000 - According to Rock101 Morning News Britney Spears was reported into a Louisiana hospital for a throat callus, which is caused from singing from the throat rather than the diaphragm.

May 19, 2000 - music365 reports that Britney is still trying to arrange a date with Prince William on her next visit to London.

May 19, 2000 - Some interesting comments from Christina's muchmusic interview this week. On Britney? "Even watching her in interviews, I find myself missing her lately," she said. "I'm really proud of her, how far she's come and what she's been able to accomplish." On image? "You take 'N Sync, you take Backstreet Boys, and they do sexual things. But you take Britney or me for showing some tummy, and drama! It's a little unfair. We're artists." [is abstracts.net going too far to predict a Britney / Christina duet on her 2nd (English) album?]

May 19, 2000 - Hoku is attempting to distance herself from the images of Britney and Christina, according to Wall of Sound. She tells them "I have to turn down tons of things, like sitcom offers, because they're trying to make me into this kind of flirtatious, overly adult, sexy kind of girl," adding about her competition "I've always been a big fan of Britney and Christina. I don't ever want to say anything bad about them, because I know they're just the sweetest people. I can't be in judgment of the decisions they make; they're doing what they feel is right and what they want for their career and for their fans."

May 18, 2000 - Allpop reports that Britney was asked about her lyrics for Satisfaction where she kept the line "can't get no girlie action," in the tune. Specifically, she was asked if she left that in to appeal to her lesbian audience, then asked if she was bisexual. The flabbergasted Spears answered no to both questions.

May 18, 2000 - Britney's album sold 1/2 million copies the first day, half of *NSYNC, so it appears the boy band's record will remain intact. She should overtake Mariah's record for female artists with 760,000 units sold.

May 17, 2000 - Sonicnet reports that most of the people waiting for midnight album releases Tuesday were waiting for Pearl Jam's Binaural and and Phish's Farmhouse. They suspect, rightfully so, that Britney's fans were in bed still.

May 15, 2000 - Famous Fixins, Inc. looks like it's hyping its bulletin board stock to cash in on the Britney craze with their CD Bubble gum. They claim to have sold $275,000 worth of the product in the first 10 days. The news was released after the bell, keep an eye on FIXN tomorrow.

May 15, 2000 - Paul Karlson of HITS magazine is touting Britney by telling AP "The other acts out there, while they are good, she really has her own persona. She just sticks out."

May 15, 2000 - Wall Of Sound talked to Britney about album sales for her new release tomorrow. She says "it's really hard to follow up …Baby One More Time, which has sold 17 million worldwide. I can just know this material is better, first off, and just pray about it, and maybe it will"

May 15, 2000 - Britney may be calling into Howard Stern this week, they also talked about whether Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera would be dirtier in bed on his radio show, they all said Christina would be.

May 15, 2000 - Britney was in an AOL chat session today, some notable comments were that she doesn't have a boyfriend, talking about Justin saying its hard when both are always on the road. She commented her head injury was all better now from when she filmed Oops.. She didn't rule out the Grease 3 (we had heard Dirty Dancing) movie and said she's still in discussions with the producers. She also said about lip synching "Well, I never really do it -- do that, like, on some real high-energy songs, there are certain parts where I will, because I mean, have you ever tried to sing jumping u and down?"

May 2, 2000 - NEWS FLASH, Britney Spears admits to Rolling Stone this week that she kisses Justin! When Rolling Stone followed up on a question about Justin asking "But when you hang out, do you do things like, say, kiss?" Britney replied "Sometimes, oh my God. My manager's going to kill me." While screaming in embarrassment she added "Oh God! I'm blushing."
