October 30, 2000 - Additional news is coming forward about claims Britney got her nipple pierced. Apparently one of her dancer's friends is blabbing the story, ""My friend, who was one of Brit's dancers at the Video Music Awards, told me last night that Britney has had one of her nipples pierced." She says the piercing happened when she was in Hawaii filming her Fox special, as reported earlier.

October 30, 2000 - Britney Spears won Best Female Singer at The Music Factory Belgium Awards Saturday.

October 29, 2000 - News of the World interviewed Britney Spears this weekend where the singer denies that she's been emailing Prince William, saying "I really don't know where these stories come from. There were rumors that I e-mailed him, which isn't true. I've never met him or contacted him. I wouldn't mind meeting him, but who wouldn't." Spears added that her boyfriend Justin Timberlake was "the perfect man for me." Spears says of him, "I love Justin. We've been around each other since we were kids so we know each other very well." October 29, 2000 - Britney Spears is featured in a pair of ebay auctions. The first is an autographed picture, item #472758501, which is bid at $24.99 and ended last night... So too late! But the other, a 3x5" "got milk?" floor display, item #481813087, is unbid at $5 and ends November 1st. Well ok, the 2nd item really tests the limit of 'do you care'?

October 29, 2000 - Britney Spears is featured in IGN.com's Babe Election 2000 campaign, which is basically a cheap publicity stunt, as Steven Horn, editorial manager of IGN.com admits, "None of the candidates meet the 35-year-old age limit. None have filled out the necessary petitions to get on the ballot. Most of them aren't even American. What does matter is that they are among the most beautiful, sexiest women in the world." October 29, 2000 - Britney Spears was selected for the My VH1 Music Awards as a finalist for the categories of Best Stage Spectacle, You want Fries with That Album?, and Booty Shake in an interactive music awards show which will air live on VH1, November 30th at 9:00 PM (ET) from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. You can vote at VH1.com until the moment of the award being announced.

October 29, 2000 - Greg Sandoval of News.com... "When today's teenagers grow out of video games, tire of Napster, and consider Britney Spears and Eminem passé, they will turn to the Web less for entertainment purposes and more for financial reasons, a study has found."

October 28, 2000 - Britney Spears is commenting on fact that she's a virgin to the U.K. Daily Star, saying "The virginity issue ... it's a personal decision and it reflects how I feel right now about myself. There are so many emotions involved that I would like to be able to wait until I know I'm with the right person and I'm married." She also talks about Justin Timberlake, saying "I love Justin and we have a good time together, but we're both very busy and right now it's difficult to be even physically together at the same place and time." Finally, of rumors about breast implants, Spears says, "The whole boob job thing has been pretty unpleasant. People were even starting to come up to me and stare at my chest. I wondered why there was all this talk - and why people were being so cruel."

October 27, 2000 - Pagesix.com's Chris Wilson when asked during a recent Yahoo chat if Britney was really dating Prince William at some point said, "This is one of this enduring, ridiculous rumors... She's invited him to some concerts--bascially as a publicity ploy--but they are NOT dating, OK?" Later, when asked about her and Justin, he replied, "They are still dating and are usually clenched in a lusty liplock whenever they're in the same room together."

October 25, 2000 - Britney Spears' boyfriend Justin Timberlake is nominated in this year's Maxim Awards for 'Best Celebrity Girlfriend Upgrade'. You can vote at maximonline.com.

October 25, 2000 - MTVAsia is reporting that Britney Spears didn't think too highly of her video shoot involving dancing with a chair, saying "The chair routine was really tough because I was throwing myself around a lot. There were so many shots and so many angles and my knees were bleeding."

October 24, 2000 - Amy Reiter reports that Madonna is making flattering comments towards Britney Spears, saying Britney is "very sweet and incredibly sophisticated for an 18-year-old ... And if she's being called the new Madonna, that's all right with me." Madonna cautions though, "There's a lot more to being Madonna than taking off your clothes, so I hope she can live up to it."

October 24, 2000 - Britney Spears is quoted in this week's Star saying "When you're really comfortable with someone you love, the silence is the best."

October 23, 2000 - More details on the Ben Affleck and Britney Spears rendevous at the Sunset Room. The Enquirer reports that Britney drank non-alchoholic beverages while Ben drank beer. While Ben was dressed casual, Britney "looked like a million bucks" in a tiny top and very tight black pants. Britney is quoted saying prior of Ben, "I've met him and he's very friendy, cute, and really gorgeous looking. I want to marry him." A friend of the two told the mag, "Justin will probably forgive her because he knows she's always had a crush on Ben and it may be nothing more than her living out her girlish fantasy."

October 21, 2000 - Somewhat old but I noticed this on the NewsOfTheWorld site today, Britney's interview from January where she discusses a number of different subjects, remarkably adapting the English forms of expression.

October 21, 2000 - Britney Spears was at a photo call earlier this week in Bremen, Germany, ahead of her tour dates that began on the 17th in the country.

October 20, 2000 - Dees Sleaze reports that Britney Spears has hired 6 bodyguards after a crazed fan hacked into her email and has been sending her messages, in addition to the photos of the naked stalker who broke into the house she's having built in Kentwood.

October 20, 2000 - Worldpop reports that Britney Spears was named the 20th most powerful woman in showbusiness this week. They add that Britney has planned her first tour in Australia in January, saying "'Australia was at the centre of the world's attention during the Olympics last month and so I'm very excited to be heading over there."

October 20, 2000 - Just days after blasting Christina, MTVAsia.com reports the guys from Westlife said they didn't think much of Britney's performance in London with Shane Filan saying, "It was kinda pantomime. She gets people up on stage and they do little things like run around like a chicken. It's not my cup of tea, to be honest." Kian Egan added, "It's not for an older audience. It's not about coolness, it's not about what we would want our show to look like. It's like a Steps show."

October 20, 2000 - We're getting word that either the Star or the Enquirer have an item on Britney seen making out with Ben Affleck in an LA bar the Sunset Club on October 5th, later going home with Affleck. More information when it becomes available.

October 20, 2000 - The UK's Sun reports that 67% of callers to their You The Jury line yesterday thought that Britney should stay a virgin.

October 19, 2000 - Yet another Britney Spears outfit was on display from her performance in London's Wembley Arena last Thursday.

October 19, 2000 - Entertaindom.com reports the Yorkshire Terrier Club is condemning Britney for carrying her Yorkie around in a tiny handbag during her trip overseas, and they worry that her young fans will start a fad of owning the pets, without considering the consequences. A spokesman complained, "Britney's setting a bad example by stuffing the dog in her bag. If you treat them like that it can have a serious effect on their temperament."

October 19, 2000 - Entertaindom.com reports that Britney Spears demanded a room at the Malmaison Hotel in Manchester England include a microwave, so that she could cook popcorn. The workers there now refer to Britney not as the Queen of Pop, rather "The Queen of Popcorn." Britney is shown here leaving the hotel and perhaps she had too much butter on her popcorn, as you can see a large zit near her mouth... Zitney Spears?

October 19, 2000 - Britney Spears is shown during her shopping in Paris Monday, where sister and mother tagged along.

October 19, 2000 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports that when Britney isn't around, Justin is seeing other women, including one "quite regularly." But despite the fact he doesn't keep this much of a secret from Britney, she puts up with it, but according to a friend, Justin and Britney are already living together and friends predict that the two will announce they're getting married within a year.

October 18, 2000 - Eminem made it to #243 on the Powerlist 300, a collection of the most influential people in Britain, compiled by The Observer newspaper and Channel 4 television station. Eminem beat out Britney Spears who was #250, though British Prime Minister Tony Blair topped everyone.

October 18, 2000 - As many of you know, Access Hollywood aired a segment from a German press conference which Britney said "Yes, I'll admit I am a virgin." She also said that her and Justin are indeed boyfriend and girlfriend and she added that rumors tying  her to Prince William are crazy but the most flattering as well.

October 16, 2000 - We're hearing reports that a stalker broke into Britney's mansion that is being built in Kentwood and took pictures of himself in the bathtub, sending her the pictures. This is another reason why she's recently beefed up her security.

October 16, 2000 - MTVAsia reports that Britney Spears wants to meet British teen singer Billie Piper, as her personal assistant Felicia Culotta says, "We know all about Billie, Britney's never met her but we're hoping to soon."

October 16, 2000 - Britney Spears got another mention on Weekend Update on SNL last Saturday, with Tina Fey, who explained her two part episode on Buffy would be "the parts above her waist and below her neck."

October 15, 2000 - The New York Daily News reports that despite efforts by Britney Spears to send Prince William tickets to one of her performances, he didn't show. Why? Because he was in Chile. Britney though told promoters to schedule another date in London when Wills is in town.

October 15, 2000 - Britney Spears surprisingly sent the gossip writer of News of the Wolrd in UK (Rav) a note saying "TO RAV, You've got the best celebrity column. Keep up the good work. Love Britney." [remember, this was the same Tab that claimed Justin and her were engaged.]

October 15, 2000 - A couple of Britney Spears photos are bidding on eBay. The first is a candid shot of Britney in sunglasses, item #466979251, currently unbid at $5.99 and ending October 22nd. The other is Britney in a tiger outfit, item #464925863, which is currently bid at $24.99 and ends October 20th.

October 15, 2000 - UK's Sun reports that Britney Spears had to step up her security in London after being followed by 10 stalkers. A source close to Britney admitted, "At first she thought it was quite funny but then she got a bit scared about it. She then decided to step up security as a precautionary measure." She's seen here with one bodyguard as it appears Lynne is behind them, which seems to contradict earlier stories that she wouldn't be able to make the London trip.

October 13, 2000 - Jessica sent out a diary update today and addressed the comments she made about Britney and Christina in FHM, saying "For the record, I love Britney and Christina and I totally respect them as artist and entertainers. A few of those words in the article were twisted to sound a little better but that is what happens in this business."

I had this huge fear. And, no, I am not as successful as them." adding, "I have to accept that, not be intimidated and say people are going to like me for me."

October 11, 2000 - A woman definitely not a fan of Justin's asked E! Online's Ted Casablanca in an online chat this week, "Is Britney blind? Why is she wasting her time on that kinky-haired, flat-nosed, prepubescent shrieking puke we all know as Justin? He's so gross!" Ted replied, "Darling, the boy has never done anything for me, but clearly he's making you run for the toilet, and I think that is a little extreme. October 11, 2000 - Britney started out her short UK concert trip last night in Wembley Arena, which the UK's Sun called an "amazing 90-minute show incorporated a wide range of props."

October 11, 2000 - A recent poll in Pink Ribbon magazine cited former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell as having the best breasts in showbiz, with Jennifer Lopez in 2nd and runners-up Elizabeth Hurley, Elle Macpherson, Pamela Anderson, Britney Spears and Madonna. The survey also said the women thought 34C was the ideal breast size and 7 out of 10 were happy with the size of their breasts.

October 10, 2000 - We've heard this story before, but the Enquirer is reporting that Prince William prefers Christina Aguilera over Britney Spears, as a friend admitted, "William says Christina sings like an angel."

October 10, 2000 - *NSYNC has finally announced their movie plans... Grease 3! The film will be on hold though because of the labor situation in Hollywood. Lance Bass said in a teleconference, "We're going ahead and getting the script written. It's a go from the studios and we just got to wait until the strike is over, then we can start filming." The rumored female lead in the role is Britney Spears.

October 9, 2000 - Ellen K reports that Britney's mother Lynne told her that her apartment look a little too romantic with candles so she told her "You will not be living here in New York City full time because I do not want this apartment to become your love nest Britney."

October 9, 2000 - Steppin' Out magazine's Colleen Christian was on eYada.com's Chaunce Hayden show Sunday and is reporting that Jennifer Love Hewitt is upset that Britney Spears has declined an offer to sing a duet with her on an album she has in development. 

October 9, 2000 - Jeannette Walls of MSNBC is reporting that Justin Timberlake will be with Britney during her concert run through the UK. A Jive spokesman revealed to The Scoop, "As I understand it, they’re going [to England] together." A source reveals the reasoning, "She’s quite nervous about being in a different country. She’s worried about how a British audience will receive her... Justin’s going to be there for her."

October 9, 2000 - The recently reported comments made from Jessica Simpson about her peers Christina and Britney are in November's FHM. As for herself, Jessica does say her boobs are real.

October 9, 2000 - The New York Daily News is reporting that rumors that Britney Spears being on Buffy this season are being somewhat exaggerated. Britney expressed an interest when the two worked together on SNL, but talks are still ongoing. A source confided, "They would write whatever [Spears] wants. At most, it would be for one or two episodes, but it's still on the back burner as of now."

October 8, 2000 - Britney's ass got a good mention from Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey, who called it a "cherry bomb" and despite the controversy of her VMA outfit, Tina urged Britney to "take care of it. Oil it, lubricate it and show it off." Tina later added that Britney's boobs felt real, to the surprise of co-anchor Jimmy Fallon.

October 8, 2000 - Another picture of Britney and Justin at their trip to LA has turned up, this one a better close-up of the two, who obviously don't want to smile for the cameras.

October 8, 2000 - Britney was the only one of her recognized 'peers' (Mandy, Jessica, and Christina) to make it to VH1's 25 Sexiest Artists list, which was announced earlier this week.

October 7, 2000 - Wendy Storm of the National Examiner is brutalizing Britney this week. Amongst her quotes, "How dare you act like a cheap, two-bit floozy with so many impressionable young females watching every move you make?" And of her comments concerning casual sex, "In case you haven't heard, casual sex could get you pregnant or even kill you. Why don't you get your mind out of the gutter for a few minutes to see what kind of message you're sending out?" That's the general tone of the entire article.

October 7, 2000 - Britney's pic is featured in another eBay auction. The candid photo (item #457932520) is bid at $21.99 and ends October 13th.

October 7, 2000 - Britain's Sun is hyping Britney's tour dates that coincide with local favorite Robbie Williams. They compare the two and claim that Britney's shows haven't sold out yet but have sold 200,000 tickets whle Robbie is at 250,000 and sold out in a matter of days. They say of Britney's stage presense, "Electrifying. She treats the stage as her playground."

October 7, 2000 - Obviously this artist thinks Britney has implants. The caricature, item #458528564, is unbid at $9.95 and don't expect anybody to pay that much since it is only a print, not an original.

October 7, 2000 - Britney's insistance that she drive is worrying those around her, because she isn't a good driver, reports Entertaindom.com. Felicia Culotta, Britney's personal assistant claims, "Britney loves to drive herself, but she's a really bad driver. We just rent average cars at the airport and she loves to drive around. She passed her test about two years ago but she's a bit dangerous behind the wheel. She even manages to drive in Los Angeles, following her bodyguard. She just puts her music on and sings away in her own world."

October 7, 2000 - Britney is going to bring great aunt Joan Woolmore and other relatives to her concert in England next week, according to Entertaindom.com. Felicia Culotta said, "Britney's looking forward to having some hot tea with them, and we've packed lots of winter clothes too because they've said it's really cold."

October 7, 2000 - Entertaindom.com reports that Britney Spears has flown boyfriend Justin Timberlake to the LA with her to calm her nerves, as she is terrified of talking to her British fans during her forthcoming concerts. Normally mother Lynne is by her side in times like this but couldn't make it this time. Brit, Justin, and other friends were in LA's Duke's Coffee Shop expressing worries about talking to the crowd in between songs, but Justin assured her, You'll be fine. You've just toured America for three months, you know what you're doing. Please stop worrying." After Britney couldn't eat her burger, Justin fed her some of his pancakes. The two are pictured walking in Los Angeles.

October 6, 2000 - More Britney Spears smoking sightings as the New York Post reports that Britney was seen smoking before a concert in Charlotte, N.C. Do we dare share the brand? Of course, Marlboros.

October 6, 2000 - Jessica Simpson is putting both Britney and Christina on blast, according to today's report from Entertaindom.com. Says Simpson of Spears, "All of a sudden her boobs aren't as big as they used to be. I think people gave her such a hard time about it she might have gone back to undo it or something. That's sad. Personally, I don't believe in it." Mysteriously though, she added, ""Britney is a great friend of mine. We are very, very cool with each other." [I'll repeat my opinion on this, the bottom outside corners of some performance outfits are stuffed, increasing the cleavage, reducing the bounce, and creating inconsistent sizes based on different photos.]

October 6, 2000 - Thisrty.com is reporting that Britney's sister Jamie Lynne recently bursted out, "Look at me! Don't you like my dress? I can sing and dance too you know" when older sister Britney was the subject of family fussing, making Jamie feel left out.

October 5, 2000 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports tonight that Britney and Justin were spotted at Cafe Milano in Miami, where they were seen kissing repeatedly after Britney returned from making a phone call.

October 5, 2000 - Well Mandy finally has gotten into the diva controversy, as E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports tonight that Mandy's trailer at the production ground of The Princess Diaries includes a poster of one Britney Spears. Problem is, Mandy added  a mustache, devil horns, pubic hair, and drawn-on nipple rings, not to mention a heart tattoo with "Mandy Moore" written across Britney's chest, according to a member of the film's production staff. Mandy's manager denied the claim saying the poster had no graffiti on it. Of course if you've ready the comments on our message boards from her similarly aged female peers, you'd see this is normal behavior!

October 5, 2000 - Thirsty.com is dropping the bombshell tonight that sources close to Britney say she paid her ex boyfriend, Reg Jones, $100,000 to say she was a virgin. We'll try to find out where this story originated, likely a tabloid.

October 5, 2000 - Newsoftheworld.com is revealing comments Christina reportedly made at a New York bar. Her tirade reportedly included "Britney’s not all that! Anyway, who does she think she is? My songs are as good if not better than hers. It’s just that she gets more publicity. We’ll just see who lasts the longest and who’s No1 next year." Remember though, this is the same site that claimed Britney and Justin were engaged.

October 5, 2000 - E! Online reports that Britney's biggest fan is Britney herself, who as they put it, attends every Britney concert, has a bunch of Britney tshrit wearing teddy bears, and watches her own television specials, referencing her comments in Elle where she claimed while watching herself, "They just showed me doing 'Baby One More Time' live. That was the best f---in' performance!"

October 3, 2000 - Britney Spears is headed to 3 episodes of Buffy, reports Entertaindom.com, who quotes Sarah Michelle Gellar as saying, "We're going to have a ball. Britney's dying to get back into TV land."

October 3, 2000 - Some funny flash animations of Britney and others are available at entertaindom.com, with their most recent flick showing a humorous slant on Slim Shady and The Brady's.

October 3, 2000 - Continuing today's popular theme, entertaindom.com's poll asking who deserves to be dissed by Eminem has Britney on top currently with 25.8% of the votes, followed by Christina with 21.7%, and *NSYNC with 19.2%.

October 2, 2000 - More endorsement deals for Britney, as the National Enquirer's Mike Walker reports that Britney signed a multi-million dollar deal to launch her own line of sunglasses.

October 2, 2000 - Shocking pictures of Britney sticking her tongue out and giving the middle finger to photographers as it appears in Rinconlatino.com. Obviously this photo was spliced together, but we also wonder if it may have been altered?

October 1, 2000 - A guy emailed into Popcentric claiming to have seen Justin and Britney in New Orleans. Turns out Britney's tour bus broke down and they were waiting for a limo outside  of a hotel.
