January 28, 2001 - Christina Aguilera has been nominated as Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Female Artist - Pop (Internet Only), and Favorite Artist - Latino (Internet Only) in the Seventh Annual Blockbuster Awards. The show will air April 11th on FOX.

January 28, 2001 - Christina Aguilera - My Reflection has been nominated as Music Special of the Year in the 3rd Annual TV Guide Awards. The event will be held March 7, 2001 on FOX.

January 28, 2001 - Christina Aguilera is shown here in an autographed photo auction currently on ebay. The photo, item #548084243, is bid at $19.99 and ends February 2nd.

January 27, 2001 - Christina's mother shot down reports that her daughter and Britney Spears would be taking part in an MTV show called Not That Innocent. Said Shelly Kearns, "No, it's not true. I just asked Christina about it about 15 minutes ago, and she didn't know what the heck I was talking about!  So no...it's not true. Just a silly rumor."

January 26, 2001 - Christina Aguilera has been nominated for Favorite Female Singer in the Kids' Choice Awards. Rosie O'Donnell will host the awards show on April 21 on Nickelodeon.

January 25, 2001 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports the opinions of Lisa Nicole Carson (Ally McBeal) and Sting on whether Britney or Christina is the better singer. Said Carson matter-of-factly "Christina", and Sting, "Well, that's really unfair--if I vote for one, then the other will be upset that I didn't vote for her. I would hate to be part of that survey."

January 25, 2001 - Apparently the Star is reading Shelly's LiveDaily comments as well as they report on Shelly talking about Christina working too much and getting sick... "She was burned out." 

January 25, 2001 - Dotmusic reports Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera will be on a live TV debate on MTV February 9th. The two will face questioning about their dancing routines and their sexuality in a show entitled, 'Not That Innocent'.

January 21, 2001 - Thanks Crave. Open on Sky Digital reports comments from Christina's choreographer Tina Landon who says Ricky and Christina seemed reluctant to get close during their video shoot. Tina admits, "They're both more on the shy side. There's one scene you'll see them embracing but you know, they aren't flirtatious with each other - so when I was placing them, it was almost like children. It was like, 'uh, Christina, can you get just a little closer to Ricky? Uh, no honey, a little closer, could you get your hips on his hips?' It's really funny since they both got picked on for their over-the-top sexy videos. I had to practically shove them together for this one embrace scene. It was pretty funny."

January 20, 2001 - Christina's mother responded to rumors that she smokes in the LiveDaily message boards today saying, "Well that's one thing I can tell you for sure. Nope, Christina doesn't smoke at all. She is constantly on my husband's case, for years, about quitting, too."

January 20, 2001 - Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera were discussed on eYada.com's Rush & Molloy show Friday where Rush claims the reason Christina was added to the song was few radio stations were willing to play the song as a Ricky solo due to low album sales, so Christina was called upon to bail him out in effect. January 20, 2001 - E! Online's Marilyn Beck when asked which current female teen singer will have a long-lasting career replied, "The consensus of opinion among critics, and I heartily agree, is that Christina Aguilera will go on to longtime success as a singing star and that Britney Spears will likely have to veer into acting to maintain her momentum in the business."

January 19, 2001 - Shelly Kearns tells message board readers that Christina was in Los Angeles for New Years. In regards to her Mexico trip, once again is bashing the media, this time the aggressive and violent behavior of the Mexican press. Read more.

January 18, 2001 - Lenendary artist Neil Diamond tells the National Post that he's a big fan of Christina Aguilera and that she's highly underrated saying, "Listen to her sing a couple of songs, she is very talented."

January 18, 2001 - A bitter Ted Casablanca reader asked Ted to stop spreading rumors about Christina Aguilera's attitude to which he responded, "Get between C.A. and her eyeliner, and I guarantee you'll change your tune about her 'tude. If you're not taloned to death first."

January 13, 2001 - Shocking news from the Enquirer this week as they report Christina Aguilera's boyfriend Jorge Santos has a secret gay life. Reports say Santos was seen dancing the New Year's away at gay clubs in Manhattan, as well as a friend's report that Jorge spent Christmas Eve at a party at a gay nightclub hosted by gay porno director Erique Cruz, "bumping and grinding on the dance floor with several men, some of them shirtless studs who work in adult films." No word yet if the Enquirer has photos to back the story up. Stay tuned.

January 13, 2001 - Mr. Blackwell has named Christina Aguilera the sixth worst dressed of 2000 in his 41st annual list saying of her, "Is she a boring and body-baring bungle -- or just auditioning for 'Sheena, Queen of the Jungle'?"

January 12, 2001 - Entertainment Weekly reports Christina Aguilera bought a $2.75 million home in Los Angeles that is located in a gated community nearby Tom Arnold. The home has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, screening room, three fireplaces, a library, pool table, wine cellar and a comma-shaped pool.

January 12, 2001 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports Christina Aguilera was showing major attitude at a Houston's, a restaurant in Los Angeles. Aguilera reported stomped out of the eatery in a "Streisand-esque" demeanor, grabbing a "hoodlum-looking guy's hand" (Jorge?). Christina was yet again wearing a cropped top.

January 12, 2001 - In other Aguilera diva news, a poster on the LiveDaily.com message board claims Aguilera ignored a mother twice (once in an elevator) while trying to get an autograph for her daughter at Baltimore's Embassy Suites Hotel, the second time a bodyguard tried to intercept. Rebecca Price concluded her rant saying, "Just remember that fans made you the star you are now and you don't have to be, as my 10-year old daughter puts it, 'so rude!'"

January 10, 2001 - Diamond David Lee Roth had some interesting comments on Christina Aguilera in Rolling Stone, saying "Is Christina Aguilera honestly Latina, or is her name one of those Geraldo Rivera things? And does the carpet match the drapes? In fact, is the room even carpeted yet?" Hmmm, wonder if Shelly would answer this one?

January 10, 2001 - The Ricky Martin-Christina Aguilera duet for Nobody Wants To Be Lonely is scheduled to debut on January 16th on MTV's Making the Video.

January 5, 2001 - Christina Aguilera's mother addressed rumors that her daughter and Justin Timberlake may have had a romantic relationship on the LiveDaily.com message boards. Shelly Kearns said, "The truth is that they are great friends and have been since they were about 11 years old on MMC. But that's it, guys. There never was any romantic anything--from way back then, clear up to now." She addressed specific rumors saying, "There are always reports..and always have been.. about Christina wearing some ring or something of his (not!) or about kissing or other various jewelry similarities or exchanges.. none of which are true."

January 4, 2001 - Shelly Kearns responded to the New York Daily News article about her daughter causing the dolls manufactured by Yaboom to not have interchangable music chips by saying, "That is absolute, utter GARBAGE! Pure lies. Oooo, these lazy, tabloid type journalists really get me!" When hearing of this Wednesday (10 mins into archived broadcast) on her eyada.com internet radio show, host and co-writer of the article Joanna Molloy challenged Kearns to explain why then Yaboom had to retool their doll line, wondering how Kearns would even know if this was true or not in the first place.

January 4, 2001 - In an Abstracts.net poll asking if Christina's relationship with Jorge a matter of true love or convenience, a surprising 55% said it was convenience, while 45% said true love, with 2087 total votes cast.

January 4, 2001 - The legal angles to be persued by Christina against former manager Steve Kurtz have been more clearly defined as Shelly Kearns responded to questions over her daughter's poor health in 2000 saying, "No, trust me. She's in no way bulemic, anorexic, or any such thing. She was being worked to death. That's why she kept getting sick. I can't get into details without jeopardizing some legalities we're involved with. But bottom line, no, she's not got any odd or chronic condition or anything."

January 4, 2001 - Foxnews.com's Roger Friedman said his vote for Best Pop Female Performance in this year's Grammy Awards should go to Christina Aguilera, though he termed both her and Britney Spears as "teen sluts" in his article and said his Aguilera vote was "just to be cotentious."

January 3, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports Christina Aguilera was very upset when she found out Yaboom, the company who markets dolls for her, Britney, Sisqo, and others, made the dolls so that the chip that made them sing be interchangable. Fearing Britney's songs would be sung from her doll, a well place source told the Daily News Christina "threw a major hissy fit. She threatened to pull out of the deal. Yaboom had to retool the entire line." A rep for Aguilera said she didn't know anything about it, while Yaboom refused comment.
