June 21, 2001 - Mandy Moore responded to Ella Hooper of Killing Heidi who criticized top US female singers saying, "Those girls - the Britneys and the Christinas and the Jessica Simpsons anmd the Mandy Moores - are so unreal. June 21, 2001 - Christina Aguilera gushed to Entertainment Tonight about Whitney Houston during their report from the BET Awards Tuesday saying, "I hope I give due justice to the Whitney song tonight. I'm a huge fan of hers. It's an honor to be here. I am thrilled and happy they invited me to be a part of it and to be doing something for Whitney."

June 20, 2001 - Louis B. Hobson profiled Mandy Moore for the Calgary Sun where she revealed "Jessica and I are the absolute best friends. I have her cellphone number and we talk all the time." Moore also conceded, "Jessica and I aren't in the same league as Britney and Christina so the idea of rivalry and competition doesn't even enter the equation. They are the superstars. They don't have contact with me and Jessica." Read more.

June 20, 2001 - A continuous stream of attacking remarks directed at Shelly Kearns has caused LiveDaily to reformat the site's Q&A forum for Christina's mother. Shelly admitted she had already composed a goodbye letter before learning of the change and moderator NikDC explained, "This is not a forum for you to be telling Shelly how much you dislike Christina or any other insults you care to parlay." To this point no new questions or answers have been posted since Saturday.

June 20, 2001 - Christina Aguilera's popularity appears to be waning as the singer dropped out of the Lycos top 50 searches this week while rival Britney Spears remained near the top at #4.

June 19, 2001 - VH1.com reports music legend Billy Joel took a shot at Christina Aguilera at a press conference where he first imitated her vocal style and said, "Pick a note and sit on it for a while, okay?" Read more.

June 17, 2001 - Jessica Simpson reportedly made some negative remarks about her female peers to CNN at the charity Gala Dinner honoring Jackie Keneddy. Simpson reportedly gushed about Jackie O saying, "Jackie Kennedy is very sophisticated, and I'm trying trying to be more like that. I don't want to go overboard, I think people like Britney, Christina, and Mariah Carey are overdoing it, but with me it's all about the beauty of the body!"

June 14, 2001 - Melissa Etheridge talked to Rolling Stone for July's issue and when asked about her preference of Britney or Christina, she said "I love Christina's voice. But I kind of dig Britney's whole thing," adding "If a video of [Christina's] came on, I'm not that interested in watching it, whereas I will stop in the room and watch a Britney video." The lesbian artist apparently implied she finds Britney more attractive.

June 14, 2001 - Shelly Kearns revealed that while Christina is selling her LA home, she's "already got another cute place she's in while looking around for a home that is more 'Christina.'" Shelly also added that Christina in the process of seeing about getting her driver's license.

June 10, 2001 - Christina Aguilera and Luther Vandross are scheduled to appear in Las Vegas this month to honor Whitney Houston as the first artist ever to be given a BET Lifetime Achievement Award. Read more.

Those thinking Shelly gets upset at comments learned it runs in the family as she admitted, "By the way, grandma is seething!!! She is so mad at this rumor that she can't see straight. June 9, 2001 - Shelly Kearns further elaborated on rumors of Christina sufferring from an eating disorder and seethed at the notion of her daughter's slender frame has pressured other girls into eating disorders saying, "It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE that Christina or any other thin person 'almost made you go anorexic', as you say." June 6, 2001 - Still no response from the editor of NOW magazine regarding Shelly's claim that their short interview with Christina Aguilera which focused on her views on female sexuality never took place. Update: We hear now from our message boards that the editor is saying they never run a story about Christina and it's the wrong magazine.

June 6, 2001 - Shelly Kearns shot down rumors that Christina had been admitted to the hospital and was suffering from bulimia telling LiveDaily visitors, "Sadly, this is just a very typical example of the sick, cruel tactics some radio jerks use to get publicity. I just spoke to Christina both last night and this morning and there isn't even the tiniest thing going on out of the ordinary. She's happy, healthy, and just working on her album. There aren't any spasms or hospitals or illnesses." Just last week many had speculated the female pop star a dietitian for the stars told Entertainment Tonight she had treated for bulimia and anorexia from the singer's $3 million home was possibly Christina. The dietitian told ET the effects of constant vomiting had made the unnamed singer's voice raspy, leading many to recall the vocal and health problems a then thinner Christina was plagued with last year.

June 6, 2001 - The Sun blasted Christina Aguilera for her wardrobe choices of late saying she's "well on her way to becoming queen of awful outfits." Read more.

June 6, 2001 - Additional comments from Christina's grandmother are emerging from her interview with Heat magazine. Ms. Fielder tells Heat she was stunned by her granddaughter's appearance in Lady Marmalade saying, "I nearly died when I saw she was wearing so little. I rang her mom and said, 'Oh God, what is Christina doing? She looks like a whore.' They tried to calm me down and they told me that Christina really enjoyed making it, but I was disgusted." Despite Shelly's objection to criticism for her daughter's look, Fielder says, I totally understand why people criticise her. Her hair in those braids is disgusting. What gets me is that Christina thinks she is doing something clever but anyone can strip."

June 5, 2001 - Shelly Kearns responded to an earlier report that the Daily Express had indicated Christina Aguilera was considering an offer to pose nude for an online magazine in exchange for $10 million saying, "Absolutely, positively a flat out lie. Please know that no such offer ever even passed through our offices!!!"

June 3, 2001 - Shelly Kearns responded to various fashion police stories on Christina's dress habits. Shelly says, "we don't keep much track of the 'fashion police' type of things, because they don't really mean anything." Strangely, she later said, "We are thrilled, of course (who wouldn't be) when someone puts her on their best dressed list. And, to be honest, we just smile when she's on somebody's worst dressed list."

June 1, 2001 - The Village Voice's Michael Musto ran a slew of blind items last Friday with one asking, "What popular singer is even more popular thanks to going out and getting herself a boob job the day after the Grammys? (Though I'm sure she'd rather have won an award.)" The item prompted most everyone on the E! Online gossip boards to guess Christina, calling it the easiest answer of the dozens mentioned.
