January 26, 2002 - Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns answered several fan questions in a recent 'Ask Shelly' update. Shelly denied the 'marketing of Christina', sidestepped questions about whether Christina's still dating Jorge Santos, blasted the media, denied rumors that she is dead, denied turning down Aaliyah funeral performance, denied breast implants, denied anorexic, sidestepped genital piercings, denied Christina is retiring, and denied pregnancy. January 24, 2002 - Christina will unveil a new song 'Infatuation' from her upcoming CD at the closing ceremonies of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. The song is not the first single from Christina's upcoming release, but just the kind of exciting sneak preview her fans have been anticipating for months. Read more.

January 23, 2002 - Lit guitarist Jeremy Popoff talked with Metal-Sludge.com and when asked if his brother A.Jay had banged Christina Aguilera said, "We've known Christina for a while. She sang at my wedding, and we've hung out a few times. She's cool. After the ASCAP 2000 Awards we all went out and got hammered [Note: Christina would have been 19 years old at that time] at this club in Beverly Hills. A.Jay left with Christina and they went to an undisclosed location. You'll have to get the details from him or her on what went down." January 22, 2002 - Shelly Kearns responded to someone claiming to have inside information on Christina Aguilera's new album where poster 'BennyMed' wrote: "Just thought I would shed some light on the delay problems with Christina's new album. All of the original songs were dumped and Christina and her producers had to go back to the drawing board. The Neptunes, Babyface, William Orbit, Beck, and Timbaland all had tracks that were dumped. From what I hear, none of them are working on any of the new songs." Read more.

January 22, 2002 - Filth2go.com's Billy Masters reports the lesbian bar that Christina Aguilera was recently at was Felt in West Hollywood. Turns out when she and her friends showed up, they "attracted so much attention from the patrons that a fight broke out with both drinks and fists flying." January 21, 2002 - The girls from Atomic Kitten spoke with FHM UK as they were on the cover of the magazine's December issue. When asked who they'd pair Christina Aguilera up with in a celebrity death match against them, the pop trio said, "Erm, Shaggy, the loser. Let's see if he's hard enough, I think we'd give them both a good run for their money. Christina is so molly-coddled, she wouldn't last five minutes in the real world. January 20, 2002 - The Star reports Christina Aguilera and several of her female friends went to a popular gay and lesbian bar in Hollywood where they got caught up in a all-girl cat-brawl. Apparently Christina and pals took advantage of the ruckus to throw drinks around their own table, raising the ire of a bartender. Christina thumbed her nose at the bartender and told him off, finally leaving with her and her friends huge mess left behind. A good bet would be the women were at the popular Girl Bar, formerly known as Axis at The Factory. Check it out here.

January 20, 2002 - Splash news has a few photos of Christina Aguilera shopping with her pet dog in a very fashionable area of Beverly Hills. Check out the three pictures, one discolored behind a window of one of the shops here. There also are a few more shots of Justin and Britney from their Maui vacation.

January 19, 2002 - Reuters reports record executives meeting in the French Riviera this weekend for the industry's annual get-together are hoping that upcoming releases from Eminem and Christina Aguilera will help resuscitate an industry reeling from 2001, the worst year on record. One analyst noted, "The industry needs a long-term fix. But some big hits would help in the meantime." Read more.

January 19, 2002 - Anonymous writes "Included on Mike (Real World: Back To New York) website is his story and pictures from Christina Aguilera's 21st birthday at the LA club, Deep. He writes: Want to hear a really cool story? Here we go, so I'm in New York hosting the Chicago casting special and I get a phone call from Bunim/ Murray. They ask me "Do you know Christina Aguilera?" I'm like "Sort of, we hung out at the VMA's for awhile, why?" January 18, 2002 - In an item sure to infuriate Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns, the Star has a story on the Christina sex video that is still rumored to be floating about, in addition to the phony one being pawned by opportunistic porno peddlers. The tab quotes 'friends' of Christina moaning, "Christina has horrific visions of her poor grandmother and mother freaking out." The Star says Shelly is recovering from a 'crippling virus' they 'exclusively revealed' (unless you happen to visit her official site message board, where she revealed the true condition a full 5 MONTHS ahead of Star's report). The friend says the sex tap "won't help her recovery one bit." No response on the article yet from Shelly, stay tuned.

January 18, 2002 - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette named Christina Aguilera as one of their candidates as being Pittsburgh's greatest rookies in history. Writer Rob Rossi says, "She was a 'Genie In a Bottle' and rode her combination of trash, sleaze and sex appeal to Diva status in 1999. Oh yeah, she could sing, too. Won the Grammy as Best New Artist, ticking off Britney Spears to no end and forcing her into a downward spiral that resulted in her wearing less and less clothing." January 15, 2002 - The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports Christina Aguilera was spotted at the Four Seasons hotel in Midtown (Atlanta) where other guests included Bruce Willis and Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson.

January 12, 2002 - Anonymous writes "Arista (Pink's label) has this to say: 
P!NK will be PERFORMING "Lady Marmalade" with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim and Mya on the GRAMMY AWARDS!!! The 44th Annual Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on Wednesday, February 27th and broadcast on CBS at 8pm (ET/PT)."

January 11, 2002 - Allpop's Stephanie McGrath talked with Christina Aguilera's lawyer Carla Christofferson about the porno that claims to be Christina that has been circulating the web. Apparently the woman behind the video is Amanda Cole, who claimed that she was hired as a photographer by Aguilera's management. McGrath's story had an interesting twist when a man calling himself Rick Miller sent an e-mail to Allpop claiming he was in possession of a video tape that featured him with the singer. Read more.

January 10, 2002 - Conan O'Brien joked during his monologue on Tuesday, "Christina Aguilera is claiming -- listen this -- that a porn video, reportedly featuring her, is actually a hoax. She says it's a hoax.[ Audience boos ] Yeah, that's right. Aguilera said, 'It's not me. That woman's taller than I am, she had different colored eyes, and she only wears 30 pounds of whore makeup.'"

January 9, 2002 - The Lycos 50 reports that while Christina Aguilera didn't crack their top 50 this week, "Searches went up 50 percent this week after rumors of an explicit sex tape being circulated in Los Angeles by an ex-boyfriend." Apparently the piece was written before it was widely reported Christina has denied the story and called the reported videos fake as they said, "Unlike previous tapes of this sort, entertainment insiders seem to believe this one is actually real. I guess Christina is the one who's 'not that innocent.'"

January 9, 2002 - Porn fans on the alt.fan.christina-aguilera newsgroup were chiming in on the Babylon released sex tape claiming to be of Christina Aguilera. King Wormer wrote, "It's not her in the tape. Babylon is know for puting up fakes." More specifically, Steve 9194 added, "They're too big (implants), too saggy, and the girl's whole body is bigger than Christina's. She's probably damn near 30 too. Plus, it's Babylon-X.. They have more fakes than the rest of the net combined. There is NO way that's Christina." Read more.

January 9, 2002 - Sharp eyed readers of Star magazine no doubt saw a piercing between the lip and chin of Christina Aguilera at her 21st birthday party in Hollywood last month. Some are arguing it is a labret piercing while others say it is a lip piercing. I believe this puts the total at 13 piercings.

January 7, 2002 - Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns posted a message on her daughter's official site message board previewing a statement that will be posted on the official site soon stating: "It has recently come to our attention that certain pornographic websites are posting sexually explicit photographs and video footage on the Internet fraudulently representing that it is Christina. The video clips advertised on the websites are of a woman with blonde hair shown only from the back -- the person in the video is not Christina. In addition, the person who claims to have taken the video is not, and has never been, associated with Christina or her management. Christina's legal representatives have contacted the website hosts, and Christina plans to vigorously pursue all necessary action against the individuals responsible, including, if necessary, initiating criminal proceedings. January 7, 2002 - The closing ceremonies of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City will feature Chisitina Aguilera singing main theme song of the evening, written and produced by David Foster. Tune into NBC on February 24 to witness the event. Read more

January 6, 2002 - According to a posting on Christina Aguilera's official site message board, Shelly Kearns has denied Christina's involvement in a porno tape that is being marketed on Hollywoodnude.com. Shelly reportedly stated, "I've heard about the awful and irresponsible article run by US magazine. And no, the tape (if one even does exist) is not of Christina. Read more.

January 5, 2001 - Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns posted a new diary update on her daughter's official website where she mentioned her thoughts on the forthcoming album. Shelly said, "Christina shared with me a few of the songs on the album. One in particular really brought tears to my eyes. It hit close to home. January 4, 2001 - Joe D'Angelo of VH1.com reports Christina Aguilera's new album is set to drop in June, according to an RCA Records spokesperson. The first new song off the album, and presumably the first single, will be performed by the singer as part of her set during the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympic Games. Read more.

January 3, 2002 - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Christina Aguilera and her producer Dallas Austin were spotted at South City Kitchen in Midtown on New Year's Day, where they had crab cakes and she-crab soup for appetizers. For dinner, Christina munched on fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Austin ate grouper with black beans and rice with hush puppies. Christina returned from Los Angeles to continue work on her new album with Austin.

January 3, 2002 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports Christina Aguilera was spotted Christmas shopping at a Hollywood Boulevard trinket shop called Wacko. Britney was there with one of her handlers and a bodyguard. The singer was wearing heavy makeup and knit cap as she bought dolls, books, and toys. 

January 3, 2002 - The Globe reports Christina Aguilera's 21st birthday bash at L.A.'s The Deep, which she rented for the night, cost a massive $210,000. Aguilera sported an outrageous dress made of feathers with a leather bra and pink see-through panties to her celebration. Christina was joined by a few hundred of her friends.

January 3, 2002 - Ananova reports an X-Rated D12 T-Shirt featuring Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera was 2001's top selling garment item at HMV. The shirt features an obscene slogan (Christina Sucks/Britney Swallows) about the two singers often ridiculed by D12 leader Eminem. Check out the full list, which is heavy on nu-metal, here.

January 2, 2002 - Christina Image Central shut down as the webmaster of the site cited lack of time to keep the site up combined with "the fact that the Official site webmaster, Al Gomes has been taking content from fansites all over the web." Christina Blue added a bitter comment directed at Christina Aguiler'a mother saying, "[Al]'s a "trusted employee" and we're just a bunch of little kids angry that everything isn't perfect, right?
