Boys and Olympic winner Sarah Hughes presented the best pop collaboration
with vocals Grammy award to 'Lady Marmalade' at the Staples Center on Wednesday.
Upon receiving the award, Christina Aguilera told the audience, "Oh, man!
Where's Patti? Oh, my gosh! This was so unexpected. Thank you to the academy
and everybody thank you mom and dad and Michael and my family. And my girls
right here, thank you guys." Lil' Kim added, "I... we want to say thank
you God for blessing us and who ever made the decision to give us this
award, we want to thank you." Mya
added, "I would like to say hi to my mom and dad and thank you Jimmy Ivy
for fighting for me to be on this project, and Ron Fair and Missy, everybody
there incorporated in this project, thank you so much." Pink said, "Hi,
mom."
February 28, 2002 - Christina
Aguilera was on the Grammy pre show on MTV Wednesday night where she revealed
she has ended her relationship with dancer Jorge Santos. Christina said
the breakup actually was my 'real' breakup. Christina added that she's
currently single and that she thinks she's a "good girlfriend." Of course
the other big talk during the show was Christina's Marilyn Monroe inspired
hairstyle from the red carpet of Wednesday's show.
February 28, 2002 - Christina
Aguilera spoke with MTV.com about the much publicized war of words she's
had with Eminem and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. Christina explained,
"I'm always getting those calculated answers from people around me, like,
'OK, say this,' and, 'Make sure you don't say anything too mean,' and I
saw other people get dissed and they giggled and laughed it off. But mine
was harsh." As for Durst commenting that he only did the VMA 'duet' with
her 'for the nookie: "It was just coming off of the Eminem [dis]. With
the things he was saying — no female should be talked about like that.
I'm not gonna laugh it off and say 'Ha ha, it's a funny song, hee hee.'
That's just not gonna fly with me, so I just had to speak my piece. I had
to be honest about it and speak for all women." Christina also commented

February 27, 2002 - MTV played
most of this clip on TRL Monday but MTV.com has more on Christina Aguilera
talking about her yet to be named album due later this year. Christina
said, "This album is very real. This whole album is very much from me,
and it's just on a very real level. It's not a pop-pop record. It's got
a lot of soul on it. It's got more R&B. It's got hip-hop influences.
It's got rock, which is very interesting, but very much a part of who I
am. ... It needed to come out, so it's exciting."

Aguilera was on a videotaped spot on MTV's Total Request Live on Monday
where she talked about her yet to be titled new album. Christina said,
"It's not a pop, pop record. It's got a lot of soul on it, more R&B,
hip-hop influences, and it's got rock, which is very interesting, but very
a part of who I am."
February 25, 2002 - Fans
of Christina Aguilera haven't had much to talk about so following her performance
of 'Infatuation' tonight, fans flooded her official site's message board
bringing it to its knees. Amongst the topics started after the lip-synched
performance (two live performances by Angie Stone with Moby and Bon Jovi
followed) included from moderator Nik DC, "Son of a...CUT IT OUT WITH THE
NEW THREADS." Another said, "Someone got a boob job." One asked, "Anyone
Else Disappointed?" Others loved the song saying, "Omg!!!! Amazing!!!"
and "Infatuation Is Greatttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Read all the reaction here.
There didn't appear to be any sign of Aguilera's boyfriend Jorge Santos
amongst the dancers.

on Christina Aguilera's official site message board was quick to translate
the lyrics to the song she debuted Sunday night at the Olympic Closing
Ceremonies, 'Infatuation'. Some are speculating the song is about her boyfriend
Jorge Santos because of the 'Latin lover' reference (though he didn't appear
to be a dancer, maybe he's in a choreographer position similar to Cris
Judd with Jennifer Lopez now?). Read on for the lyrics.

has a feature interview with Jon Stewart ahead of his hosting of the awards
show on Wednesday. Stewart said jokingly his biggest surprise of last year's
show was "that Christina Aguilera is only 11 inches tall and could actually
fit inside that little ball that they lowered from the ceiling." Read the

Reynolds of the Los Angeles Times talked with a spokeswoman for Don Mischer,
the executive producer of the Olympic ceremonies, who revealed the closing
ceremonies will rely on recordings to bolster performances by *NSYNC, Christina
Aguilera, Bon Jovi, and others. The spokeswoman revealed, "There are some
people who are electing to do things live, but I haven't heard yet if we're

reports Christina Aguilera's stylist Trish Somerville admits the singer
often "makes mistakes". Still, she says Christina gets hurt by the public's
insults about her style. Trish said, "On one level the criticsm really
affects Christina. She is just like everyone else - no-one wants to hear
negative stuff. She doesn't understand why people slam her for what she
is wearing because, at the end of the day, she is an entertainer and she
is playing a part. It hurts her when people criticse her like that - it
really upsets her."

show a Grammy special called, Backstage at the Grammys, prior to the big

tells us that Patti LaBelle will be joining the women of 'Lady Marmalade'
(Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya, and Lil' Kim) on stage when they perform

John Farinella of Rolling Stone spoke with Linda Perry who is helping Christina
Aguilera on her new album. Perry revealed titles to the four tracks she
helped out on, 'Beautiful,' 'Cruise,' 'Make Me Over, Don't Make Me Over,'
and one yet to be titled. Perry said of the new album, "There's not a trace
of Christina Aguilera on these songs. I know that she's got to do something
incredible in order to survive. People have been waiting for her record,
and she's got an amazing voice on her. The trick with her is to get her

and collectors section. Christina is quoted on the homepage saying, "I

People caught up with Pink to get her thoughts on 'Lady Marmalade' co-star
Christina Aguilera. Pink admits, "When we first met, we definitely didn't
like each other." Fortunately, the pair got a chance to hang out at Pink's
22nd birthday party "and we talked for a really long time. We've gone through
a lot of the same crap." But after their much publicized spin the bottle
kiss, many wonder if they are more than just friends. Pink said there was
"no tongue - I put my hand over her mouth. The next day a rumor started
that we were bisexual lovers." Pink insists, "Yeah, I'm officially denying
the rumor. I did kiss her, though. And I'd do it again."

Elliott; and Joshua Bell are the latest confirmed performers for the 44th
Annual Grammy Awards telecast set for February 27 at Staples Center in

on Christina Aguilera's official site message board were given an explanation
by Shelly Kearns as to why the official site still hadn't posted news that
Christina will be performing 'Lady Marmalade' with Pink, Mya, and Lil'
Kim (plus a special guest likely to be Patti LaBelle) at February 27th's
Grammy Awards. Christina's mom explained, "I just have a second and wanted
to address some of the responses to this post. There's something that you

Aguilera's official site will be launching a 'Fanorama' section on February
20 in an attempt to recognize the singer's hundreds of fansites. Christina's
official site has been under fire for lifting content from fansites without
giving them credit, and petitions and forum criticism perhaps led to the
move. The 'Fanorama' will include links to over 600 Christina fan websites,
galleries of fan artwork, fan photos, essays and reviews by fans, and more.

reports Mya, Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Lil' Kim will have a special
top-secret guest when they perform 'Lady Marmalade' at the Grammys on February
27... Could it be the song's originator, Miss Patti LaBelle? Meanwhile,
they quote Christina commenting on the collaboration saying, "It's the
closest I ever got to being in a girl group." They all insist filming the
video was anything but stressful.

official site news page reports she, Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, and
Pink will perform 'Lady Marmalade' at the Grammy Awards on February 27
(they mistakenly put the 26th). The show is broadcast on CBS at 8 P.M.

to the New York Post, Christina Aguilera was spotted with her boyfriend
Jorge Santos closing down TanDa after a bottle of Kettle One with several
friends. Kettle One is a expensive brand of vodka made in Holland.

writes "Christina's new song called 'Infatuation' is going to be a dance
number. Christina will perform the new song from her yet untitled upcoming
album in the closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olimpic Games. 'Infatuation'
will be a dance number because it showed on Channel 13 the auditions for

Mechling of The Georgia State University Signal spoke with Sugarcult frontman
Tim Pagnotta who says he's a big fan of Christina Aguilera. Tim admits,
"I like Christina Aguilera because everyone else likes Britney Spears."
He added, "There are a lot of popular bands these days, a lot of popular
punk bands that are backing Britney Spears and it's not about Britney Spears,
it's about Christina. The reason why is because she's half the weight,
you could probably fit her in a duffle bag and take her on a flight with

McGrath of Allpop spoke with Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns
about her role as the 'spokesperson' in charge of rumor control on her
daughters official website. Shelly talked about several subjects including
when she opened up about the abuse she suffered in her marriage to Fausto
Aguilera. Shelly revealed, "It's funny because I just kept quiet for a
while until I saw where Christina wanted to go with it and she was very
open. Plus, we discussed it. Plus, not to mention, it wasn't helping not
to say anything. I know celebrities who are in very abusive home life situations
and you've never heard about it. Because, my gosh it does open you up to

Mail reports Jade McGuire has revealed how she caused a bust-up between
Pop Idol judges Pete Waterman and Simon Cowell. Jade said, "Simon didn't
look impressed at all. He just shot me this icy stare. Then he shrugged
and said: 'Well, the first time Christina auditioned for me she blew me
away. You did nothing for me. I had no idea which Christina he was talking
about, but I forced a smile. That was when Pete Waterman picked up his

Lotus with a black mystery man, which they say was not Wesley Snipes, who
chatted with Aguilera at Hef's party earlier in the week.

York Daily News reports Wesley Snipes was working his charm on Christina
Aguilera at the Waldorf on Wednesday where Hugh Hefner was being honored
by the Magazine Publishers of America.

as a 'hair band' named 'Razzle'. The guys, including rumored Christina

Journal Consitution reports Christina Aguilera was spotted at Kyma in Buckhead
for dinner with a lobster-loving party of seven, which included music executive
Dallas
Austin and actor/comedian Orlando Jones. Christina was dressed casually
and was reportedly polite and gracious, as the newspaper suggests she has
been throughout her entire stay in Atlanta.
