March 31, 2002 - The Sun
reports a red-faced Christina Aguilera was shopping for sexy lingerie Friday
in a Los Angeles boutique when her dog pooped on the wool carpet of the
shop. Christina cleaned the mess up herself as another customer revealed,
"She wrinkled her nose and looked down to see her pooch had left a present
on the carpet. Then she shrieked and cleaned it up with a piece of wrapping
paper. Christina was very apologetic. She carried the mess outside and
threw it in a bin before returning."

29, 2002 - Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns told a fan on the
singer's 'former' official site message board the gifts she received from
her daughter for her birthday on Saturday. Shelly wrote, "Christina bought
me a diamond watch (along with a couple of other things).. that is just
beautiful, and a bouquet of flowers that is the biggest I've ever seen
in my life--literally. It was a wonderful, warm birthday." Read more.
March 23, 2002 - NME reports
Hole singer Courtney Love told a conference at last week's South By Southwest
festival in Austin, Texas that she almost came to blows with Christina
Aguilera. Love revealed, "I almost had a fist-fight with Christina. I was
with Linda and she came over and said: 'What are you doing? Writing rock
for your friend, Courtney?' And I'm like: 'Christina , do you even know
what rock is?'" Read more.
March 22, 2002 - Well with
the latest news that Ricky Martin's album is being pushed back perhaps
until November, getting the most pop music sales in 2002 doesn't appear
likely, but he won the survey anyways. Christina Aguilera, who's pushed
out album has tested the nerves of her fans, finished second.
March 22, 2002 - Fan site
'Pop Queen Christina Aguilera' recently asked the singer's mother, Shelly
Kearns, the status of her endorsement deal with Coke. Shelly said "As for
Coca Cola, no, she's not endorsing them anymore. During her deal, she did
do commercials, but the ones for the US market couldn't be aired because
of a SAG strike.. only those in Latin America aired. So then by the time
the strike was settled and they had time to consider more commercials,
she didn't endorse them anymore." Christina reportedly made $10 million
in the endorsement deal.
March 20, 2002 - Following
the furious response by Shelly Kearns at message board readers on LiveDaily.com,
the forum Christina Aguilera used as an official destination for a few
years now, the official Christina-A.com website will now be getting its
own forum. Still no word which type of board they'll be using or what level
Shelly herself will be participating. Read more.
March 19, 2002 - World Entertainment
News Network reports Tiffany wishes she could have been as provocative
as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera during her run atop the pop charts
in the 80's. Tiffany said, "It was not appropriate for me to wear anything
like a bustier or to be sexy. It was big hair and hoop earrings and jean
jackets. There is no way I could pull off what Britney is pulling off now.
It was a totally different time." Read more.
March 19, 2002 - Christina
Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns told readers on her daughter's official
site message board on Monday that she's no longer going to be posting on
the forum. Kearns is angry over allegations that she's been lying about
knowledge of her daughter's highly anticipated album that has had various
release dates published dating back to last year, only to see those dates
get pushed out further. Kearns blasted, "What I told you is true. I DO
NOT CARE what is posted where. WE did not register those titles on that
site and back when it was asked me, I gave you the information AS IT WAS
GIVEN TO ME BY HER MANAGEMENT AND BY RCA, thank you very much. Do you really
think that I sit here behind my desk and never talk to anybody but Christina
about business?? When are you going to learn that 90% of the info floating
around out there is false half of the time!" Kearns had made similar threats
in the past and has had the 'Shelly Kearns' section of the forum suspended,
but this one appears to be the most serious to date. Read more.
March 16, 2002 - A fan on
Christina Aguilera's official site message board posted his response from
Christina's mother Shelly Kearns after he had 'threatened' to leave the
forum if Christina didn't release her album soon. Shelly explained, "September
is not a confirmed release. Hopefully it will be out earlier than that.
And thanks so much for your concern, but please be assured that she will
not lose true fans just because it's taking longer than some of the other
pop stars out today. Again, in other areas of the industry, it isn't an
end of the world thing--isn't even unusual--for an artist to take even
much longer than Christina has taken in releasing a next album. I hope
this helps you to feel calmer about the issue." Later in the thread she
expanded on her comments. Read more.
March 15, 2002 - A
fan on Christina Aguilera's official site message board quizzed her mother
Shelly Kearns on whether RCA makes any financial contributions towards
the running of this board, likely wanting to know if Shelly is paid for
her contributions to the forum. Shelly said, "No, none whatsoever that
we are aware of." Last week when Britney Spears top fan site WorldofBritney.com
was closed, the webmaster had made the allegation that Lynne Spears was
paid for her diary entries about her daughter.
March 15, 2002 - While not
declaring a set date for Christina Aguilera's album release, her mother
Shelly Kearns did set the record straight tonight on reports that the album
had been pushed back to September from an original June release date. Kearns
denied either date being announced from the official site, nor RCA. Shelly
said, "The problem does not lie with Christina, her website or manager,
because we haven't posted any set release dates---ever, let alone having
been the ones to change them a million times. Blame media gossip and rumors
for that." Adding, "All along we've maintained the same truth, that there
is no set release date, that we are shooting for a summer release." Read
more.
March 14, 2002 - Following
news on MTV today that Christina Aguilera's album looks to be out in August
or September, fans on Aguilera's official site message board were up in
arms at the prospects of yet another delay in the album's release. DoutMeNOmore19
wrote, "If this is true, I am truly pissed." Meanwhile, What's up sighed,
"I seriously want to kick someone's ass today. This has ruined my entire
day." Read more.
March 13, 2002 - Jemma Pike
of the Sun profiled the new trend of wearing braids set by Christina Aguilera,
Britney Spears, and Kylie Minogue. For instructions on how to create the
three singer's looks, click here.
March 12, 2002 - It appears
the reports of Britney Spears getting dumped by her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin
Timberlake are true. Even though Jive promised to issue an official statement
on the matter earlier today, nothing but a "no comment" was given, while
Justin was spotted at Hollywood hotspot A.D. The *NSYNC singer was "bumping
and grinding" with a dark curly-haired beauty, according to a spy who said,
"I think Britney was the last thing on his mind." Justin's bandmate Lance
Bass looked on with Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Christina Aguilera.

March 11, 2002 - A mild controversy
regarding Christina Aguilera's 'Fanorama' as all sites from countries in
Asia are being grouped together despite being from different languages
and cultures. Webmaster Al Gomez is insisting, "We did everything we could
to distinguish the Japanese, Korean and Chinese sites" with help from a
Japanese friend. A forum member ~CRL~ questioned that though, as the browser
will tell you upon entering the site what language the text is displayed
in with a prompt to download the appropriate script. Read more.
March 10, 2002 - US Weekly
reports Christina Aguilera was in Los Angeles recently where she picked
up a $65 white t-shirt that read 'I Love Britney' at Kitson. A source later
said, "Christina's going to cut the shirt up... but only because it's too
long on her."
March 8, 2002 - I've compiled
Overture.com list of the most searched for musicians in January and by
a huge margin, Britney Spears headed the pack. With over 2.5 million searches,
the singer dwarfed runner up Jennifer Lopez (525,492 searches). Others
on the list include Tupac at #7, *NSYNC at #9, Christina Aguilera at #11,
Mariah Carey at #13, Mandy Moore at #15, and Backstreet Boys at #16. For
a complete list, read here.
March 7, 2002 - Tiffany called
in to KISS 106.1 in Seattle this morning and talked about her Playboy spread.
When asked about who would be next to pose nude for the magazine, Britney
Spears or Christina Aguilera, Tiffany guessed, "Britney." She also was
warned to expect a lot more creepy fan mail after the shoot, and said she
hasn't gotten to meet Hugh Hefner yet. Check out the eight minute clip
here.
March 7, 2002 - While Tiffany
may have the cover of April's Playboy magazine, her younger pop competition
Christina Aguilera was named the magazine's 'Babe of the Month'. Playboy
said, "It's make-or-break time for pop queen Christina Aguilera. The 21-year-old
Pittsburgh native has a debut album that sold more than 8 million copies,
a 1999 Grammy and a successful Spanish-Language album. But what this girl
really wants and needs is a little respect. Working on a more adult sound,
Christina aims to end all comparisons with fellow mouseketeer Britney Spears.
She has the lungs and the desire. Last year, Christina dressed up like
a hooker and shook her can-can alongside Lil' Kim, Pink, and Mya in a spirited
remake of Lady Marmalade. It became MTV's Video of the Year. Meanwhile,
Britney performed at the MTV awards fondling a snake. We like this sort
of competition, and we enjoy the not-so-subliminal message. It's even enough
to make us listen to the music every now and then."
March 7, 2002 - A fan on
Christina Aguilera's official site message board reports Christina's mother
Shelly Kearns has confirmed news that the singer has not signed on again
with the cosmetics firm Fetish. Shelly said, "Actually, it is true. Christina
did do an endorsement with Fetish, and when the contract was over, she
decided not to renew."
March 6, 2002 - Jason Cohen
and Michael Krugman of Rolling Stone gave a minute by minute review of
last week's Grammy Awards, which is funnier than hell. The guys had great
things to say about Christina: "Hey, who's the hot little monkey blonde?
Get the fu** out of here! The hair, the breasts, the ass -- Christina's
got a record coming out and she's ready for war!" They add, "Did we mention
we'd like to do terrible things to Christina Aguilera?" Read more.
March 6, 2002 - Shelly Kearns
told fans on her daughter's official site message board that contrary to
rumors going around, Christina Aguilera won't be appearing on MTV's Total
Request Live Wednesday as the 'Mystery Guest'. Shelly said of that rumor
and the rumor her new single has been sent to radio stations, "I want to
clarify that both of these rumors are completely false. No, Christina is
not going to be on TRL today, and no, no new single has been given to any
radio station at all, let alone all the U.S. stations." Read more.
March 3, 2002 - MTV took
part in a two way page conversation with dozens of artists including Patti
LaBelle following her performance near the start of the Grammy awards on
Wednesday with Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink, and Lil' Kim. Patti explained
less than an hour after the performance, "I went to Grammy rehearsal, rested
and came back to perform with the 'Moulin Rouge' girls for the first time.
I'll sleep tonight. It was AWESOMELY unbelievable! One of the highlights
of my career, and I'm so happy they won!" Read more comments here.
March 2, 2002 - Liquid Generation
has a hilarious game of 'Who's Boobs? The Grammy Awards Edition' posted
now that the show is over. You'll get a close up snap of three racks, and
you decide which of the three it is... faster you do it, the more points
you get. I got a perfect score of 3,000, so see if you can match it here.
March 2, 2002 - Conan O'Brien
joked during his Late Night monologue on Thursday: "The Grammys yesterday
were the longest running award show ever running for 3 1/2 hours... and
amazingly, that's how long it takes Christina Aguilera to put on her whore
makeup. There must be lost civilizaitions under all that makeup!"
March 1, 2002 - The latest
poll on popdirt.com is asking 'Which artist do you expect to have the top
selling U.S. pop album in 2002?' Christina Aguilera is amongst the nominees.
Vote here.
March 1, 2002 - Alev Aktar
of the New York Daily News gave his thoughts on the outfits worn by the
women who attended the Grammys on Wednesday. Aktar said of Aguilera, "She
was obviously shooting for a Hollywood glamour look with red lipstick,
penciled eyebrows and platinum blond curls. But it came off more Mae West
than Marilyn Monroe." Meanwhile, his thoughts on Spears were: "Britney
Spears sprayed on a bright red dress. With her big blond hair and Chiclets
smile, she looked like an '80s supermodel." Read more.
March 1, 2002 - MTV's Kurt
Loder has a great rundown of last night's Grammy awards and much of what
he had to say is hard to argue with. Loder said of the Britney Spears -
Matthew Perry banter "Who writes this stuff?" As for the 'Lady Marmalade'
performance: "It was interesting to watch Christina Aguilera dominating
the multi-diva "Lady Marmalade" extravaganza with her soaring voice — and
then watch as Patti LaBelle popped up out of nowhere, in full shriek, and
simply took over." Loder wasn't so kind with Nelly Furtado, who he called
"the irritating Canadian." Read more.
