May 31, 2002 - The Sun reports Christina Aguilera has been banned by the Standard Hotel because of her wild parties. A hotel insider said, "Her parties were too out of control, and the clean-up cost was enormous. Guests in adjoining suites were always ringing the front desk, complaining about the noise." Aguilera had spent big bucks throwing the bashes every two weeks and sometimes hosted celebrity guests such as Drew Barrymore and Ozzy Osbourne’s teenage kids Jack and Kelly. Read more.

May 26, 2002 - US Weekly has more details on Christina Aguilera's fling with 'Spiderman' star Tobey Maguire. A spy caught the pair at the L.A. club Deluxe where the two "cuddled for hours" and at 1 a.m. "left together and hopped into his SUV." Days later at New York's Centro Fly a spy reports, "Christina's security guy walked to Tobey's table to see if she could come over, and he split."

May 24, 2002 - Dees Sleaze reports Christina Aguilera and Tobey Maguire are the couple of the moment - as they hooked up at an LA nightclub as the two were all over each other for five hours. Four days later, Christina showed up to a private party Tobey held in New York where Maguire gave her the brush off having "already done that."

May 23, 2002 - If you look closely at the Christina Aguilera cover on Allure you'll see blackheads on her nose and hair on her chin, according to today's Dees Sleaze. They wondered why there was no retouching but Rick says he thinks it is something that happened to the lense on the camera - or he was trying to be diplomatic about it. Listen to their comments here. May 21, 2002 - Star magazine quotes Christina Aguilera telling girlfriends at Japanese eatery Koi in Los Angeles: "I love Tom Cruise. When Penelope Cruz is through with him, I'm next!"

May 20, 2002 - At the ALMA awards on Saturday Christina Aguilera won Outstanding Song in a Motion Picture Soundtrack for the 'Moulin Rouge' hit 'Lady Marmalade, The awards took place at the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and will air on ABC, June 1, 8:00pm - 10:00 pm. Read more.

May 18, 2002 - The Scottish Daily Record reports Christina Aguilera not only has attended the Pussycat Dolls burlesque-style cabaret group show, but also guest stars in the shows that feature Carmen Electra at Hollywood's Roxy Theatre. Read more.

May 17, 2002 - Christina Aguilera's official website explained to fans today why the David Letterman show appearance by the singer's mother for a Mother's Day themed Top 10 wasn't listed on the official website. May 16, 2002 - In a Metal-Sludge.com 20 questions with Rhino Bucket singer Georg Dolivo, he was asked to rate Christina Aguilera on a scale of 1 - 10. Dolivo gave her a '8' saying, "Latin and blond spells party in my Van Nuys party book."

May 16, 2002 - VH1's special Driven will feature Christina Aguilera Wednesday May 22nd. As of now, it seems it will only be shown in Europe.

May 14, 2002 - Launch.com spoke to Ozzy Osbourne's son Jack Osbourne about the success and attention his father and family have been receiving with MTV's 'The Osbournes'. Jack said the attention for his father was long overdue, blasting a Grammy winning pop princess in the process, "I think it's good that he's starting to get the recognition that he deserves. I mean, fu**, if Christina Aguilera wins a Grammy first time up to bat and, you know, (Black) Sabbath won one after 33 years, that's bullsh**, that's all I can say."

May 14, 2002 - Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith of TeenHollywood.com chatted with Andy Dick who revealed plans to make a filmout of his Daphne Aguilera character, and even hopes Christina Aguilera will agree to a cameo. "I would love to have her in there, and I would definitely make it fun for her," he said. Others that might pop up as guest stars in the flick include Christina's rumored flame Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, and Backstreet Boys star Kevin Richardson. Read more.

May 11, 2002 - CDNow.com reports Christina Aguilera was amongst the stars at the Roxy nightclub on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood on Thursday night, where she took in the burlesque revival 'Pussycat Dolls'. Others at the show included Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath, Nikka Costa, Apollonia, That '70s Show's Ashton Kutcher, Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly, and Hugh Hefner and select Playboy Playmates. Carmen Electra guest starred in the show (as fiance Dave Navarro looked on) and Christina Applegate was the emcee. Read more.

May 11, 2002 - Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns was on the Late Show with David Letterman on Friday to take part in a special Mother's Day Top 10. The top 10 was for the best advise you've given your kid, and Shelly, one of 9 mothers of celebrities in the studio (Dave's mom was at home in Indiana), said, "Make sure your midriff is covered before going out on stage -- I didn't say she listened to me." The tabloid claims Christina Aguilera has blasted Britney Spears as "teenybopper trash" at the popular West Hollywood club Moomba, causing Spears and her entourage to exit the club within seconds. A source said, "They just hate each other. Christina has always disliked Britney's goody-two-shoes image, and Britney is jealous that the critics like Christina's talent better." Read more.

May 4, 2002 - The National Enquirer's Mike Walker reports Christina Aguilera was driving along a street when she saw a guy dragging a dog by a leash. She yelled at the guy to stop or she'd call the NAACP. The guy laughed, told her he was training the dog and corrected her saying that it's the ASPCA, not the NAACP.

May 3, 2002 - Shelly Kearns responded to fan inquiries about why the photos of Christina Aguilera at the Lotta fashion show were airbrushed by the official website after her see-thru bra clearly showed Aguilera's nipples. Shelly said, "I personally called the webmasters and told them to either airbrush it out or remove the photo. Why? Because it seemed to be causing a fuss among enough people over an issue not important to fuss over. So I said 'no biggie. We'll fix it and everyone will be happy.'" 
As for the rumors she dated Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl, she said, "We were as surprised as anyone else to hear about this Dave Grohl rumor. Christina's never dated him...not even once! May 3, 2002 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports Christina Aguliera was at Maxim's Hot 100 party last Thursday night at Hollywood's Yamashiro where she occupied a corner booth with "a band of guy-'n'-gal-pals, plus one behemoth gorilla-goon." Ted adds, "Sexily clad in a spicy red dress with a plunging--quelle surprise--neckline, C.A. passed the time, not by getting punchy but by punching, literally. She typed away furiously on her Blackberry."

May 1, 2002 - Following a report on the GroupieCentral.com message board that Krist Novoselic had shared his account of Foo Fighter's frontman Dave Grohl (his former Nirvana bandmate) making Christina Aguilera do a beer bong at a show earlier this year (the referenced article can be found here, courtesy UCSB's Richard Block), a Van Nuys area groupie (based on the IP) going by the handle 'va va voom' claimed, "I know for a fact that she has hung out with Dave because I saw it with my own eyes. If they got it on once everyone left and they were all alone, I don't know! I think they did..." Her charges only got more shocking from there. Read more.

May 1, 2002 - Following reports by E! Online, Jose Lambiet of Star magazine quizzed a source at LA bar Belly on gossip that Christina Aguilera doesn't wash her hands after using the restroom. A source said instead of waiting to wash her hands at the sink she "scurried back to her table. Then she continued eating her calamari tapas with her fingers. Even better, fans came up to her and she started shaking their hands." Read more.
