July 27, 2002 - Popbitch.com reports Christina Aguilera's still having troubles getting her floundering second album released. The singer is hoping Lynda Perry, who has helped Pink, can sort out the mess. Aguilera's other move designed for her "rock makeover" is switching her name to 'X-Tina'. They also report Christina's grandmother paid for a huge black and white "Happy Birthday" billboard in hometown Wexford, PA. Unfortunately, Christina has yet to go home to see it.

July 27, 2002 - KimmieC4483 writes on the LiveDaily.com message board that the much talked about but unofficial September 17th release date for Christina Aguilera's sophomore album has been pushed back yet again. "I work at FYE and every week, we get a notice that tells about upcoming releases, additions to the new releases list, date changes, etc.," she said. "Anyway, according to that list, the new album release date has been changed from Sept. 17 to Oct. 22. Again...nothing is completely official yet, but the date that we have has changed." July 25, 2002 - Christina Aguilera was recently on the TV Guide Channel along with Carmen Electra to talk with Katie Wagner about their Cabaret act 'The PusssyCat Dolls'. Aguilera also talked about her upcoming album saying, "I'm sooo so excited. It's overdue. It's long overdue and I'm so antsy to go out there and do it and tour and everything that goes up with it. July 24, 2002 - According to a posting claiming to be from Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns on the LiveDaily.com message board, the Christina-A.com official site is being redesigned and the webmaster Al Gomez has been booted. Shelly writes, "Actually, we are on the brink of launching a totally new site. Al is no longer with us, which is probably why he hasn't replied. I'm a little surprised that he didn't let you know, though, so you wouldn't have to go through all the work. Thank you so very much for anything you've done to help Al, though. I was sorry that we had to let him go. Please know we appreciate anything you did to help with the site." Read more.

July 21, 2002 - News of the World reports Natural's Marc Terenzi has admitted to dating Britney Spears for the past two months, while Britney's ex Justin Timberlake has been having secret flings with Christina Aguilera. Aguilera was reportedly was heard telling a record label boss, "I've been seeing Justin, he's lovely. We've been meeting at places you'd never think we'd go to in case anyone sees us." A source told the tabloid that Britney will be furious upon learning her pop rival is dating her ex. "Britney will be furious Justin's been out with Christina, whom she really hates," said the source. "It's the worst thing he could do to her." Read more.

July 20, 2002 - David Wild of Rolling Stone spoke with Christina Aguilera before the release of her new album this fall. "We're in the home stretch," she said. Aguilera calls this album a declaration of independence from her teen pop past. "When you're seventeen, you're green," she admitted. "I fell into something that wasn't quite me. Being twenty-one now, I've grown into more of what I feel like as a woman. This record is definitely my baby." Any thought that she's still a teenybopper pop queen vanish when she utters the line, "I don't need anyone to make me over/Save your bullsh** for another day" on 'Make Me Over'. Read more.

July 12, 2002 - Los Angeles Times 'Club Buzz' reports Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson and Missy Elliott, Mark McGrath, and Justin Timberlake partied last Saturday at A.D. in Hollywood. Meanwhile, Kelly Osbourne showed up with a note from her mom, promising she wouldn't drink. They also report *NSYNC star Lance Bass recently chatted with former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash for about 10 minutes backstage at the Forum after a recent Aerosmith visit. Lance actually didn't know who Slash was, but was just being polite. Read more.

July 12, 2002 - US Weekly reports Christina Aguilera and Tobey Maguire hooked up a few more times recently. Tobey threw a 27th birthday party for himself and 500 pals at a home in Hollywood Hills on June 28th, and left for home with Christina in tow. A source revealed, "They walked out holding hands, got in a black SUV, and drove to his place." The pair had been spotted just three days earlier as well. A spy revealed, "They hooked up at [LA's] Deluxe" where they "cuddled for hours."

July 11, 2002 - A fan on LiveDaily.com posted a scan of the painting of Christina Aguilera by her sister Rachel which is being shown along with her other artwork at an art gallery owned by Michael Bryce. The painting shows Christina in her underwear and stockings, covered by an open jacket. Check it out here.

July 10, 2002 - TeenHollywood.com (WENN) reports Christina Aguilera's sister Rachel is having 20 of her own paintings exhibited in an art gallery. One of those paintings is of her sister, causing Boston gallery owner Michael Bryce, who is displaying her work, to comment, "You can see her relationship with her sister through her art. The portrait of Christina sitting beside a piano is very striking." Meanwhile, Rachel's mother Shelly Kearns commented, "Rachel is fortunate in that she's got quite a bit of talent in several areas." July 9, 2002 - MO-Xtina writes on Christina Aguilera's message board at LiveDaily.com: "Remember how I told you guys about my sister and how she knows alot of people in the entertainment business, well this time my sister and her boyfriend were invited to Mark Wahlberg's party a few days ago! ...and guess who was there? Yep. Christina! They just told me that she was there and again so was Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio."

July 6, 2002 - The Daily Mirror reports Tobey Maguire has reportedly fallen in "love" with Christina Aguilera. A friend of Maguire's says, "He's gone head-over-heels for Christina. She's unlike any girl he has ever met and he's totally intrigued." A pal of Aguilera adds, "They're really in love. They couldn't be more different, but you know what they say about opposites attracting."

July 4, 2002 - The Mirror has their own take on Christina Aguilera's reported troubles with RCA with an insider revealing, "RCA thinks if Christina stays with her teenybopper stuff, it will sell. They don't want to take chances with her singing actual rock. She has also been told to cut down on her boozing." Read more.

July 4, 2002 - Christina Aguilera's recent appearance on 'Pussycat Dolls' was a subject in the new Globe magazine. An eyewitness tells the tabloid, "Christina stepped out of her red convertible Ferrari dressed head to toe in scanty, porn-queen garb. No one could believe what they were seeing." He added, "She paraded around for a moment and let the crowd have a good, hard look. It was an awesome sight. Everyone's eyes were popping out of their heads." Meanwhile inside, an audience member gushed, "Christina was fabulous! She was absolutely spectacular!"

July 2, 2002 - Milian weighed in on her thoughts about Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears in a recent chat with The Sun. "Christina Aguilera is an amazing singer, Britney is a great performer and entertainer," she said. "I definitely don't have anything against them as we are all trying to do the same thing at the same time." Read more.

July 2, 2002 - The New York Post reports Christina Aguilera is said to be at odds with RCA over the direction of her next album, which has resulted in the delay of the disc that was supposed to be out in May. "Christina wants a more adult sound," said an insider. "But RCA thinks that if Christina stays with her teeny-bopper stuff, it will sell. They don't want to take chances with her singing actual rock." For his part, RCA chairman Bob Jamieson said that wasn't true and added, "She is a woman now and has things to say. I am amazed and proud of her."
