not been for Ms. Aguilera wearing a couple of rubber bands and not much
else on Top Of The Pops, it may even have been No1." Young's 'Don’t Let
Me Down' is one of the lowest-selling Children In Need singles ever — shifting

Soults of the Boston Phoenix reviewed Christina Aguilera's album 'Stripped'
and her recent image makeover as well. Soults says in reference to Aguilera's
"I want the boys with the flava" comment in Rolling Stone magazine: "Her
preference doesn’t mark this white female as a freak of culture, just a
product of her times, but it may help explain why she differs from white
performers ranging from Teena Marie to Madonna and Elvis to Eminem. Each
of them adopted a black style and refashioned it. For Christina, sounding
black (and almost looking black on the album cover) is just her most profound
way of dressing up. Not only isn’t this necessarily a bad thing, it’s often
downright thrilling." Read more.

November 15, 2002 - Songs
by Madonna and Prince inspired Cliff Boyce to swing his hips and rub his

'Uh?' And I went: 'Robbie' and she went: Robbie who?' 'Williams - Robbie
Williams from Stoke-on-Trent.' I feel very, very small now and she just

video (I am so disappointed that I couldn't fly out in time for the shoot!).
Christina wanted me in it so bad (she wrote the concept and vignettes and
things for it), but I'd have had to fly out right when Mikey got sick,
plus in a bit of a rush, and I just opted against it. It's going to be
a killer video though..very touching. I'm so darned proud of her!" Read

you. That's what teachers and leaders are supposed to do. But you know,
they are just people. Some of them 'get it' and can see the big picture,

hybrid 'Fighter,' 'Stripped' is so overproduced and overwrought that it
could easily pass for a Janet album." He does add in Aguilera's favor,
"Despite all the high drama, though, Aguilera proves her point: she is
not Britney Spears--and that might be all it takes to transcend the dreaded
sophomore slump." Read more.

of the guys so I was like, you know personal stuff aside, I have to give
it to the guy who does the best job so, you know." She added, "And he was

November 4, 2002 - Greg Kot
of the Chicago Tribune reviewed Christina Aguilera's new album 'Stripped'
advising listeners to not judge the album by its first release 'Dirrty'.
Kot said, "What's encouraging is that Aguilera has figured out that growing
up means more than just liberating her body of clothes. It means freeing
her songwriting and production of commercial formula. And about half the
time on the uneven but ultimately fascinating 'Stripped,' she succeeds.
Now, all she needs to be taken seriously is to get rid of those skanky
leather chaps." Read more.

Bento of Chart Attack caught up with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to
have him clear up reports that he had dated Christina Aguilera. "So, we
met and we’re like 'Hi, how are you?' And whatever — that was it," Grohl
recalled. "Then this one morning I was at home and my phone starts ringing
at, like, 8:30 in the morning. Just ringing off the fu**ing hook. My girlfriend
gets up to get it cuz she’s trying to sleep. I get up and she says 'Guess
why people are calling you all morning? The local radio station’s saying
you’re dating Christina Aguilera.'" He continued, "I’m like ‘WHAAAT?!’
So I fu**in' called the radio station and I was just like 'Hey, this is
Dave Grohl and I hear you guys are sayin' that and can you please STOP?'
They’re like 'So, is it true?' I’m like 'No! It’s not true!'" Read more.

Aguilera was again spotted at a New York strip joint according to the New
York Post. This time Aguilera was even dirtier when the club's DJ played
her single 'Dirrty'. The singer jumped on a couch in the Champagne Room
and started bumping and grinding with two strippers. Later, she compared
breasts with one particularly well-endowed dancer. "They were touching
each other's breasts," said one elated eyewitness. "There was a lot of
caressing going on." Her back-up dancers joined in on the fun, performing
an impromptu striptease on the main stage.

at Groovevolt.com reviewed Christina Aguilera's new album 'Stripped', giving
it an A-. The site writes, "Though 20 tracks might seem like too many,

November 3, 2002 - Christina
Aguilera spoke with MTV.com about her new album'Stripped' and the song
'I'm OK,' which is her take on her father Fausto Aguilera's abusive behavior
before her parents separated. "It is such a hush-hush topic because it
happens in the home," Aguilera said. "I definitely wrote that song not
to badmouth him at all, but one, for a healing process for myself, and
two, to give people hope or a voice to relate to. To know that you can
get through it and that it will be OK." Read more.
November 3, 2002 - Catherine
Halaby of the Yale Daily News reviewed Christina Aguilera's new album 'Stripped'
and surprised herself by saying the album "is just generally a good listen."
Halaby writes, "So now you ask, who is the Real Christina? Is she a white/Hispanic
Lil' Kim? A Mouseketeer Alicia Keys? Still that Somewhat Irritating Chick?
Just an upscale centerfold trick? The answer is D, all of the above. By
naming her album 'Stripped' and applying a strict rule of maximum nudity
for all public appearances, she appears to be selling the 'liberation equals
no clothing' equation. The album, however, is not slathered in sex." Read

November 3, 2002 - WENN reports
Christina Aguilera has denied she has talked with Playboy about posing
nude in the men's magazine. "That's a rumour I guess I have to squash,
because I've never even talked to Playboy," she insisted. "It's not something
I want to do - at least not right now. At this point in my career, I just
want to be respected for my voice. And as I get older, I want to take singing
even more seriously."
November 3, 2002 - Mark Morford
of SF Gate gave his thoughts on Christina Aguilera shedding overblown pop
confection image to overblown smut doll in her new 'Dirrty' video. "Her
newfound authenticity thuds like a hammer," Morford wrote. "Our delicious
little pop tart Aguilera has broken away from one extreme of prepacked
teen queendom and reemerged as the exact flip side. She is now all excessive
hollow superslut diva and all about screwing "playahs" and slathering on
the excess makeup and acting all badass and sneery and completely, well,
bitchy. In other words, she is exactly the same, but completely different."

Danton of The Hartford Courant reviewed Christina Aguilera's new album
'Stripped' giving it generally positive marks. Danton said, "Aguilera goes
about demonstrating impressive growth as a singer and, apparently, a songwriter."
He concludes, "With all the controversy that tends to swirl around Aguilera,
it's sometimes easy to forget that she is an immensely talented singer.
Her talent shines through clearly on 'Stripped,' and though the album is
ultimately a tad inconsistent, perhaps it's simply the next step toward
Aguilera's fully realizing her dazzling artistic potential." Read more.

of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reviewed Christina Aguilera's new album
'Stripped' giving it two stars. Masley says that the album "works best
when Aguilera -- or Xtina, as she'd like you all to call her -- doesn't
try so hard to prove how dirty, filthy, nasty she can be when rubbed the
right way." He added, "If she's as lucky as she says she'd like to get,
then 'Walk Away' would be the single to emerge as her defining moment here.
But sadly, 'Dirrty' stands a better chance. And this time, she can't blame
her handlers." Read more.

November 1, 2002 - Musician
Matt Morris writes in his journal (under the 'Share' section) on Thursday,
"Well Christina's album is out - it hit the stores on Tuesday. I didn't
know I would be as excited as I was when I saw our songs listed on the
back of the CD> You know - a lot of hours went into those tunes - a lot
of energy ('blood, sweat and tears' is the cliche that might be most applicable).
'Stripped' was the 'secret project' that I was working on for so long.
I'm glad that it's done, to be honest with you ('all good things must come
to an end'). The songs are out of my hands now, and I hope that they are
well received." Read more.

joked during his Halloween Tonight Show monologue on Thursday, "In fact,
here's a little Halloween tip. If you can't afford a costume, just go out
naked and say you're Christina Aguilera." Jay again focused on Aguilera
talking about her admission on sleeping with a white man for the first
time and not liking it. They had a rebuttal on Aguilera's comments from
comedian Gilbert Godfried, who said, "How can Christina Aguilera say that
I'm a bad lover? How is she able to tell that in only two minutes? Which,
by the way, is three seconds longer than I lasted with Britney Spears.
So there."

Reaves of Time magazine is giving Christina Aguilera a gentle nudge towards
the door in their 'Parting Shots' feature. Reaves writes, "While we understand
her perfectly natural need to separate herself from the rest of the bubble-gum
pop pack, there are signs she may be putting too much pressure on herself.
We've noticed she seems to be forgetting things lately — her clothes, for
example." Read more.

of the club immediately denied the story 'cause he was worried Aguilera
would ruin the strippers' reputations."
