January
31, 2003 - The New York Post reports new Playboy editor James Kaminsky,
who will soon replace Arthur Kretchmer as editorial director - will seek
more celebrity skin, even if he has to let the big-name pin-ups keep some
of their clothes on. "He really wants Christina Aguilera," says the source.
"She's like his holy grail. He's also very interested in Britney Spears,
anything to get that MTV market." Read more.
January 31, 2003 - Pier Dominguez
has responded to the comments
made by Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns about his new book. He
tells us, "My book, "Christina Aguilera: A Star is Made", is the ONLY serious,
well-researched look at Christina Aguilera's career. I find it very offensive
that Shelly Kearns would choose to speak out against my book, which took
two years to research and write, before she has even read it, when there
is so much CRAP out there about Christina that is all about making money.
I am a serious journalist, this is my second book after a highly praised
debut, and I think the only reason Shelly is picking on me is because I'm
20 years old. I trust that other Americans who believe in the first Ammendment,
and who will actually read my book before judging it, will find it a balanced
and exciting view of Christina's life and career. Shelly was extremely
unfair in critiquing my book without having read it. She is doing to me
exactly what she accuses "the media" of doing to Christina."
January 31, 2003 - Christina
Aguilera was photographed leaving Chinawhites in Central London a little

January 31, 2003 - The New
York Daily News reports Christina Aguilera's shorts aren't much bigger
than her belt in CosmoGirl, which goes on sale Tuesday. The pop diva talks
of tough times and a tougher image, "I couldn't stand the white-blond straight
hair. I had to do something more street."
January 31, 2003 - xtinafanalways
writes "My name is Nick Tyler, I told Christina Aguilera's mom about that
new unauthorized biography and even though she hasn't read it, she doesn't
seem to like it, I guess because of the woman who gave that author the
review. Here's her email.
January 30, 2003 - Star magazine
reports that Christina Aguilera stunned shoppers at Urban Outfitters on
Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles by trying on a bunch of the store's clothes
in full view of other customers. She got right down to her undies as she
slipped in and out of several outfits. Afterwards, she put her original
clothes back on and left with three bags full of purchases.
January 30, 2003 - The National
Enquirer reports Mariah Carey has reached out to Christina Aguilera to
urge the hard partying pop tart to seek help before she spirals into a
full-blown alcohol and partying addiction. She told XXX-Tina, "You're going
to end up burned out at 30, like I was!" The scene happened at the party
Mariah tossed after the American Music Awards, where Aguilera got so plowed
that she nearly lost her skimpy top. Mariah played big sister to the younger
diva, begging her not to buckle under the pressures and temptations of
young stardom that Mariah herself nearly flamed out on. Carey ordered her
handlers to sneak the drunken Aguilera past photographers by covering her
with a towel. Even while covered up, Christina continued boozing under
the towel! But her cover was blown when her glass slipped and shattered
on the sidewalk outside.
January 30, 2003 - The Sun

the Dru Hill star at the recent American Music Awards after-show party.

of a romantic direction now," a pal revealed. "The two are perfect for
each other because they are both quite short. Christina is 5ft 2in while
Sisqo is only 5ft 6in."
January 30, 2003 - One of
reasons *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake is eager to hit the road with Christina
Aguilera is because he's confident enough in his abilities as a singer
and performer to not worry about being upstaged. "I'm gonna make an arena
feel like a club," Timberlake boasted to MTV News. "I want people to feel
like they're a part of the show and it's a party. Anybody who sits down
during the show will get kicked out. If you sit down, once I find you,
you will get booted." Read more.
January 30, 2003 - Globe
magazine reports Christina Aguilera and her female posse took a break from
recording at a West Hollywood studio and as the day wore on, turtlenecks
turned into tube tops and the gang headed up to the exec VIP lounge to
party. During the partying, Christina or one of her pals didn't have the
fortitude to walk all the way to the rest room, so she used a trash can
instead. The crew guys forced to clean up the mess are still wondering
if cleaning up the pee is part of their job description.

dated one white guy." Check out the scan and try to decipher more of the
text here.
January 29, 2003 - Brian
Hiatt of Entertainment Weekly weighed in on how Christina Aguilera's new
single 'Dirrty' has aparently salvaged the singer's image from the damage
done by the live-sex-show video for her so-so first single, 'Dirrty'. Linda
Perry, who authored the track, commented, "I'm truly proud of that song.
To me it almost sounds like a Beatles song. I was trying to write a song
that affected everybody -- this almost desperate cry that 'I am beautiful,
no matter what you say.'" Read more.
January 29, 2003 - NSYNC
star Justin Timberlake was on MTV's Total Request Live on Tuesday, and
had this to say about Christina Aguilera when asked about her image: "Honestly,
I wouldn't put her in a category with either. I wouldn't put her in trailer
trash, I wouldn't put her in clever pop chick, you know? I don't think
what she's doing now is trying to be clever. And I don't think she's trying
to be trash because, I mean homegirl can sing. She's bad. And that's going
to translate in 5 years just like how it translates right now when you
listen to 'Beautiful'. The fact that she can release a song like 'Dirrty'
and get everyone talking and then release a song like 'Beautiful' and say,
'Look, this is why I am standing here.' That's the Christina that I met
on the TV show and that's the Christina that will be around 10 years from
now."

far. He said she was a fun girl to date though. Howard had Carson put his
hand on a pile of bibles and swear that he never slept with Christina Aguilera,
and he started to clam up when Howard asked him if he ever tongue kissed
Christina Aguilera. Read more.

January 28, 2003 - Emily
Nussbaum of Nerve.com writes, "I know what you're thinking: the girl's
a skank. And it's true that over the last year and a half, Christina Aguilera
has offered up a truly spectacular example of what is, for a celebrity,
the equivalent of a nervous breakdown — the image change gone horribly,
horribly wrong. But God help me, I love her for it." Read more.
January 28, 2003 - The Sun
reports Robert Downey Jr. has bombarded Christina Aguilera with love faxes
asking the pop tart on a date. "She was quite flattered at first, but after
about three dozen faxes she got tired of Robert’s mushy love notes," a
pal of Aguilera's said. "She thinks Robert’s a great actor but she certainly
doesn’t fancy him — there’s quite an age difference." Read more.
January 28, 2003 - Looks
like the war of words between Christina Aguilera and Kelly Osbourne isn't
done yet. Ozzy's daughter was asked about the diva during an interview
with Capital FM in London. "It started because I've got a big mouth and
I just stated an opinion and it got taken out of hand," Kelly explained.
"But nothing I've said about her has not been the absolute truth. I think
that's what bugs her and other people so much, because it is the truth,
saying that she has a very beautiful voice but she ruins herself by dressing
like a tramp and she has a really bad attitude." Asked about her response,
Kelly said, "She hasn't really said much, but she did come up to me in
a club once and I really respected that because she told me to stop talking
about her, and I thought 'wow that was really cool' and she stopped, and
she's recently started talking shit about me again. And I think 'Don't
waste your time'." Check out the entire inteview here.

author Pier Dominguez" and I just wanted to say, to all the people who
kept asking "What happened to Christina?" The answer is in "Christina Aguilera:
A Star is Made." If you read the book, based on my original reporting as

was an entirely natural--if scandalous--process. Visit my website here."

Young Lad's outlandish frontman Devin Townsend reveals his favorite new
album is Christina Aguilera's 'Stripped'. "She's fu**ing great. And man,
I don't care what anybody says," Townsend tells Chris Harris of the Hartford
Advocate. "First of all, that music video, it's not a sex video. She doesn't
do anything, man -- anything. She fu**ing commands the camera, she can
dance, and she can fu**ing sing any of those other chicks under the table."
He added, "Not only that, but, she's like, 'Britney, You're going to show
some belly? OK. Not only am I going to sing you under the table, I'm going
to show off my entire fu**ing body.' I think that's rad." Read more.

know what he is going to say ahead of time," Clark said. "There is no way
to put it up there. We got Ozzy Osbourne then we have Ja Rule and Bobby
Brown, that is an interesting censorship challenge. We have got Christina
Aguilera with or without her clothing. I'm not sure of that yet until I
see it in a moment. In the audience, we got Justin Timberlake sitting six
seats away from Britney Spears, so it is going to be an interesting night."
Gibson joked, "I'm told this tie I'm wearing is actually more clothing
than Christina is going to be wearing, but I don't know." Read more.

plea for the singer to stop her hard partying and get help to sober up
before it is too late. "I'm afraid for her," he admits. "This is my lovely
little niece, who was a caring, good girl. But she's acting crazy." The
plea comes on the heals of Aguilera virtually passing out in public after
leaving the Whiskey Bar and her 10am beer guzzling incident in the Bahamas.
A source told the tabloid, "Christina appears not to have a handle on her
drinking. I've watched her, and one night she didn't just have one or two

was doing it in public."

with diarrhea." Charo added that the three modern day "wiggle queens" "should
not depend on the wiggle. They should grow." She cites Madonna and J.Lo
as examples to follow. "It's no surprise Madonna is lasting like me because
she is full of surprises and changes like a chameleon. Jennifer Lopez is
a hell of an actress and also has her own style."

in all honesty, it's a necessary move. Whether she's gone too far with
it is up to question. But both she and Britney and the boy bands have to
grow up and move on." Don't look for the raunchy singer to perform in a
bikini and chaps at the show though. "I think she will probably get a little
tidied up," Clark said. "I shouldn't use 'tidy'; I mean, covered up. For
cable television and her videos she can get away with more, but this is

January 2, 2003 - RCA Records
responded to the Christina Aguilera article that appeared in YM magazine
in which Alyssa Vitrano pulled no punches describing Aguilera's attitude.
They wrote, "As Christina Aguilera's record label, we have to express our
deep concern over the editorial slant in your december cover story on Christina.

YM reader to hear the firsthand account of the making of 'Stripped' and
the emotions surrounding it. Unfortunately, YM's writers and editors chose
to let their personal frustrations get in the way of presenting an objective
article of Christina as an artist. It is truly disappointing that the outlet
we chose for Christina to communicate to her teen fans turned its back
on her." Read more.
