caught up with several music insiders who admit that there's been troubles
with ticket sales during the summer concert season. "We have an industry
that has managed once again to ignore reality," says veteran concert promoter
and Co-CEO of Metropolitan Talent John Scher. "The economy is in bad shape,
there’s fear of congregation, ticket prices and service charges are out
of control. It’s no wonder that this summer will at best be mediocre."
Artist manager Irving Azoff commented, "Justin and Christina are doing
well in most cities but have had some problems in places like Denver, Little
Rock and San Antonio... Most of the newer acts haven’t had a chance to
develop a following. The business these days, with its desire to turn a
profit as quickly as possible, doesn’t allow for the development of a fan
base." Read more.

Post is backing off the claim that Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera's
tour is in trouble. Concerts West say after the two sold out shows in Los
Angeles, the rest of the tour dates are booked. The only setback on the

the border crossing."

"I picked up Ricky Minor at his house.... brand new, no landscaping yet.
He was very, very nice. He was with Whitney Houston for nearly 20 years
and produced the Diva show from Vegas. Christina was late, very late. The
jet left without her after waiting 2 hours. I picked her up and she met
a second plane (both were private jets) out of Van Nuys airport. She gave
me an autograph for my daughter. She seems to have added some meat to her
bones. She looked good, very relaxed, friendly, in a great mood. She had
an assistant with her who carried her luggage, mostly garment bags that
HAD to be laid out straight. No makeup, hair not done. We watched the show.
Fantastic musical performances by Christina. Both songs were awesomely
done.""

Aguilera tells Top of the Pops magazine that the music on her second album,
'Stripped', is a lot more personal and represents the real Christina more
than her earlier material ever did. "I come from a huge teen-pop phenomenon,
which I think at the time was in a really poor state," she said. "It wasn't
about lyrics that were real, it was about catchy pop tunes that were more
fun than innovative and inspiring. It was hard 'cause so many people had

not really this person!'" Read more.

"I'm definitely finding it pretty hard. It's tough because you never really

June 8, 2003 - Kristi Turnquist
of the Portland Oregonian shared her thoughts on *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake
and Christina Aguilera ahead of their show at the Rose Garden arena on
Tuesday. On Timberlake, she commented, "In interviews, Timberlake is recasting
himself from the human candy cane of *NSYNC's reign to hip dude down with
the homeboys. He showed up in a cover story in hip-hop magazine Vibe, portrayed
as a Memphis native respectful of the African American music traditions
he's been accused of trying to glom onto." As for Aguilera, Turnquist says,
"Unlike [Britney Spears], who played up her assets (good looks, killer
body) while minimizing her weaknesses (singing), Aguilera always had great
pipes, a deep, womanly, powerful voice. In her teen-pop days, she belted
it out but dressed like the young woman she was, ladling on the hot-pink
lip gloss, inky eyeliner and sparkly eye shadow. Now, like Timberlake,
Aguilera has decided to play the hottie card. But she's had a bumpier time

June 6, 2003 - Larry Rodgers
and Laurel Miller of The Arizona Republic reviewed the 'Justified and Stripped
Tour' in Phoenix on Wednesday (June 4). They say *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake
"moved even more toward stripped-down, old-school soul in his 80-minute
set, which kept the America West Arena crowd on its feet most of the time."
As for Christina Aguilera, they say, "The tiny, 22-year-old singer's dazzling
voice is her main calling card, and she had fans in awe several times during
songs such as 'Impossible' (which she recorded with Alicia Keys), 'Soar'
and a classy cover of Etta James' 'At Last'." Read more.

who are their role models. Justin said his parents, especially his dad.
Christina said her mother, cause she was strong dealing with what she went
through with her father. The girl said Justin we got to ask about the Britney

need to know. The interviewer said, 'I know I know you're going to hate

is way too much speculation and it's got a life of it's own and it doesn't
exist for me, as far as I'm concerned, I'm on tour so I don't talk about
