Anonymous writes "Just thought I would start a discussion for Christina,
I saw her in concert last night and she was AMAZING she has the best voice
in the world and that was the best concert that I have ever been to here
is my review: What did I think? Well, I was always slightly dubious of
her vocal capabilities. Sure she sounds great on CD but her vocals have
more layers than her makeup – is her voice genuine, I thought? I couldn’t
stand Christina pre-Stripped but now I adore her. And last nights show
made me love her even more." Read more.

31, 2003 - Anonymous writes "The Daily Magazine is covering LA fashion
week. They interviewed Louis Verdad, who designed the MTV Video Music Awards
outfits for Britney Spears Christina Aguilera, and Madonna. Here's the
part of the interview where he talks about Britney, and Christina:
Q: You dressed them all?
A: I did. I did Christina
before and she's great. That was my first time with Britney and... I don't
think I'll ever do it again.
Q: Why?
A: She's just not the kind
of costumer I love to dress. I always say the life a lot of people lead
is smog: When it disappears, there's nothing left. A lot have substance.
A lot don't. I prefer substance."

because they are selling sex, not music," the 16-year-old said.
October 31, 2003 - Ratethemusic.com
quotes Christina Aguilera talking about sexing up her image after a series
of unfaithful boyfriends and a nervous breakdown left her feeling "nutty."
Aguilera said, "The market changed. I was part of a huge teen pop explosion
when I first came on the scene and I'm not knocking it - it was great.
I was young and happy to be living my dream. But as the rollercoaster went
on, I was becoming really unhappy the longer it was going on. I was working
like a madwoman. I felt I was nutty."

October 31, 2003 - Q magazine
caught up with Linda Perry for an article in their November issue where
she talked about hooking up with Christina Aguilera. Early in 2001, Perry
had confronted Aguilera in a Los Angeles nightclub and offered an unsolicited
critique of her talent. "I said, Everyone knows you can sing but it's not
convincing emotionally. I think you're depressed. You should get in touch
with it, use it in your songs." Aguilera shot Perry a who-the-fu**-do-you-think-you-are?
look and walked away, but called her about a week later. They convened
at Perry's studio in Burbank, California, where the brutal working practices
continued. They sat and talked. Aguilera recalled physical abuse at the
hands of her father. She began to cry and asked for the session to be abandoned.
"It sounds ghoulish, and she didn't think she could do it, but... I made
her do it in tears. You've got to be feeling something before you can create.
Some people will reveal nothing and just grind the stuff out. That's factory
work." Read more.

Shepherd of The Scotsman reviewed Christina Aguilera's concert at SECC
in Glasgow the other night, giving it 3 stars. Shepherd writes, "The stage
set was a forest of technological flashiness on multiple video screens
and chrome climbing frames. On the less feisty numbers, Aguilera fell back
on her huge but unlovable voice and the showbiz 'thank you most sincerely'
chat, because that’s what divas do, isn’t it? They milk every note dry,
make exaggerated gestures, recline on grand pianos." Read more.

perfect, her control over each soft high note and big-throated shriek amazing.
Even watching a semi-clad man writhe around a pole before sticking his
hand down the front of his trousers doesn't make her falter during the
angst-ridden 'Walk Away'. The problem with Aguilera is that she can't leave

Britney Spears, Simpson said, "I have been my whole life. Since I was 12

Britney Spears both beat me out. You know, I froze in the audition, I forgot
everything, and I ended up not getting it. And then, you know, I signed
with Columbia, and I hear -- when I was 17, and I hear that Britney signed
with Jive, you know, the week before, and Christina signed with RCA the
week after, and it like came back around, and then the media has always
kept it. So it's been like this ongoing thing for me, to try to differentiate
myself and try to separate myself, and I try to do that with my image and
I try to do that, you know, through love and through the kind of music
that I sing, and hopefully, people can just get over the comparisons. Even

neither is respected in the business. They’re just starting to write and
perform their own songs, until they prove that they have songwriter talent
they will never be respected in the business (sorry but being beautiful
is not a talent). You all act like these are the only 2 female artists
in the world, always comparing and pitting them against each other. What
about other female artists who have written and performed their own songs
from the start? Artists who have proven themselves such as Madonna, Jewel,
Alanis Moirrisette, Nora Jones, Janet Jackson, Michelle Branch, Carley
Simon, The Bangles, Pat Bennitar, etc. Christina is just starting to prove

musician, you should just work just like everybody else does. Just do your
music and put it out there and don't do anything you don't feel you have
to do. You don't have to do anything. You don't even have to be here. Go
do something else. it's your dream to be a dancer or a singer, whatever,
if you're a pop star I don't know how that works. Do what you want to do.
Don't feel like you have to sell sex just to get people to listen to you.
I feel like Britney Spears may have to do that in order to get people to
listen to her music because I don't think she's talented. But Christina
Aguilera, on the other hand, is very talented. I think that's the real
tragedy." Check out the entire interview here.

about this. What's up with all you hypocritical people (Britney fans) dissing
Christina Aguilera for what she's done to promote herself when Britney
Spears is following the EXACT SAME ROAD, maybe even dirrtier than Xtina
even." Read more.
