October 31, 2003 - Q magazine caught up with Linda Perry for an article in their November issue where she talked about hooking up with Christina Aguilera. Early in 2001, Perry had confronted Aguilera in a Los Angeles nightclub and offered an unsolicited critique of her talent. "I said, Everyone knows you can sing but it's not convincing emotionally. I think you're depressed. You should get in touch with it, use it in your songs." Aguilera shot Perry a who-the-fu**-do-you-think-you-are? look and walked away, but called her about a week later. They convened at Perry's studio in Burbank, California, where the brutal working practices continued. They sat and talked. Aguilera recalled physical abuse at the hands of her father. She began to cry and asked for the session to be abandoned. "It sounds ghoulish, and she didn't think she could do it, but... I made her do it in tears. Shepherd writes, "The stage set was a forest of technological flashiness on multiple video screens and chrome climbing frames. On the less feisty numbers, Aguilera fell back on her huge but unlovable voice and the showbiz 'thank you most sincerely' chat, because that’s what divas do, isn’t it? Clarke writes, "Her voice is perfect, her control over each soft high note and big-throated shriek amazing. Even watching a semi-clad man writhe around a pole before sticking his hand down the front of his trousers doesn't make her falter during the angst-ridden 'Walk Away'. October 29, 2003 - Christina Aguilera's boots that were custom-made for her most recent concert tour was among the more than 50 pairs of autographed shoes featured in the Celebrity Shoes for Orphans charity auction, which raised over $31,000 for Buckner Orphan Care International's Shoes for Orphan Souls program. The boots received a winning bid of $3,050, second only to Shaquille O'Neal's size 22 basketball shoes. Read more.

The girls say "we were there, enjoying every moment", adding it was "possibly the best concert of the year." October 29, 2003 - The Scotsman reports members of National Youth Choir of Scotland have struck a deal to perform with Christina Aguilera. The 40-strong outfit gathered at the Cava studios in Glasgow yesterday to record their parts for a special performance with Aguilera at the MTV European Music Awards next month. Despite the artist’s raunchy reputation, Christopher Bell, the choir’s artistic director, said his singers were excited at the prospect. "They are completely over the moon," he said. "We were only asked to do this very recently. Once we were given the green light, I had to get 40 of the singers together from the four corners of the land. Johanna writes, "I dont know if anyone posted this, but whoever went to the L.A. Stripped Tour got to see Xtina & Pamela Anderson kiss. During Lady Marmalade'. October 18, 2003 - The Daily Mail reports that while dining with friends at The Ivy in Los Angeles, Christina Aguilera's messy, jet-black hairstyle failed to cover a patch of scalp on the right side of her head. At the Q Awards earlier this month, she was seen fiddling with her hair in a vain attempt to distribute it more evenly about her head. A guest at the ceremony in Park Lane Hotel said, "I was sitting behind Christina and she wouldn't leave her hair alone. On the front, righthand side of her head there was a patch of scalp visible." October 5, 2003 - A fan writes on Christina Aguilera's Xposed forum that the singer was booed at a concert in Dresden, Germany after she was an hour late to her performance, and didn't apologize to fans for her tardiness, instead went right into her performance of 'Dirrty'.
