February 26, 2004 - Dan Port of the Daily Trogan weighed in on Stacie Orrico's recent comments critizing Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera "degrading" women by wearing revealing clothing to sell records. "Britney" explained, "I mean, there's nothing wrong with wanting to be like Britney Spears. After all, without Britney Spears, there'd be no Mandy Moore, no Jessica Simpson, no Christina Aguilera." And "Christina" asked, "Name one singer who's been successful without showing her ass to everyone." Read more.

February 26, 2004 - USA Today music writer Ken Barnes took part in an online chat with readers including one that was upset with his assessment of Christina Aguilera since "she can sing better" than Britney Spears. "All the vocal talent in the world isn't enough on its own (otherwise I would venerate opera singers)--the songs have to be worthy vehicles, and Christina's are either debased formula exercises like 'Dirrty' or by-the-numbers, dumbed-down show-off ballads like 'Beautiful'," he responded. "The only song I've ever liked by her was 'Genie in a Bottle', although that was kind of a debased formula exercise in itself (but at least a well-made record). She doesn't win any extra points for charming personality or intelligence, either." Read more.

Christina says, "My relationship is something I won't talk about. It's an aspect of my life I've learned that the press takes and runs with." Christina declined to confirm or deny reports she is dating Jordan Bratman, 25, who works in her management company. "The only thing I will say is that I'm very happy right now. I don't care about the six-pack. I don't care about a chiseled body. I like being able to have a damn good conversation. I'm into mind stimulation. I can stimulate myself in other ways...I just haven't met too many Hollywood pretty boys that I've been intellectually impressed with, or just impressed with, period. I find them to be very immature, too, very stuck on themselves. I like a down-to-earth guy. That's why I usually go for a non-celebrity.""

Some of her music is alright and I don't mind listening to it. On the other hand, some I will have nothing to do with. Having a beautiful voice is not a crime. It'd be nice if I could sing like that.
