April 28, 2004 - Xreflejo
writes "This essay is to all those Britney Spears fans who say that fans
of Christina Aguilera can't write an essay without dissing Britney. Here
is one. Back in the summer of 1999 two young, blonde and beautiful girls
burst onto the musical radar. Both with catchy singles that helped them
quickly ascend to the top of their game. But from the beginning one thing
was clear, one of these girls had a tremendous talent that was overshadowed
by too much production and a label pushing her to be what she wasn’t, a
bubbly pop persona." Read more.

28, 2004 - amusicfanofsoul writes "E! Online reports Christina Aguilera's
camp initially tried to block 'Stroke of Genius'--one of the earliest,
most popular mash-ups, combining her 'Genie in a Bottle' with the Strokes'
'Last Night'. Now, however, Aguilera has hired the producer of that mash-up,
Freelance Hellraiser, to remix her next single."
April 28, 2004 - Christina
Aguilera recently phoned into KISS 96.5 in Cleveland to talk about her
tour with Chingy. Before the interview, Aguilera's handler told him not
to talk about her pop rival Britney Spears, boyfriends, or tabloid stories
-- just talk about the tour. They talked about her 'SNL' appearance and
'Sex and the City' parody, her future acting hopes, and getting "only"
#3 on the Maxim hottest women list. Download and listen to the interview

April 28, 2004 - The Glasgow
Daily Record reports Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson was so determined
to get Christina Aguilera for the new Virgin Mobile campaign, he invited
her to his Caribbean island of Necker to seal the deal. A Virgin Mobile
insider said: "She is a hot property and Virgin are jubilant they have
managed to persuade her to do this. This advert will have every red-blooded
male drooling." For a $1 million payoff, Aguilera did scenes reminiscent
of Meg Ryan faking an orgasm in 'When Harry Met Sally', arching her back
and moaning. Read more.

April 25, 2004 - FoxNews.com
reports America's prepubescent girls continue to emulate the dress styles
and attitudes of their older role models: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera,
and Paris Hilton. But some girls say the sexy trends have created a backlash
within their social circles — and they've even got a word for them. "They're
called 'prostitots,'" said Anna Miressi, a Kingston, N.Y., high school
freshman who claims the term is commonly used among her peers. "It's those
girls at the mall with the tight jeans and belly shirts. They're in between
the age group of 10 to 13 or 14." Read more.
April 25, 2004 - Star magazine
reports Christina Aguilera was spotted in a short, blonde curly haired
wig and pink silk "nightgown", eating at the Beverly Hills restaurant Crustacean.
April 25, 2004 - The Dallas
Morning News reports Christian teens are stealing Jesus music at nearly
the same rate as secular music is being pirated, according to a new study
done for the Gospel Music Association. Musicians say the piracy issue is
particularly thorny for them to broach. Many fear being seen as greedy
and incurring the backlash faced by the heavy-metal band Metallica when
it sued Napster, once the most popular file-sharing software system. "We
can't be like Christina Aguilera and get all attitudey," said Jaci Velasquez,
a platinum-selling singer. "We're supposed to be like Christ and turn the
other cheek." Read more.
April 25, 2004 - The Associated
Press has a video report profiling Christina Aguilera's upcoming tour with

April 25, 2004 - tobstar73
writes "NW Magazine reports that Christina Aguilera is telling a close
friend that if she sells her video that their 10 year friendship will be
over! Lucy Ashmore, one of Christina's close pals, has recently told the
star that unless she breaks up with her ex, Jordan Bratman, she will sell
the video of 21-year-old Christina indulging in herself after a long 21st
birthday. The video shows Christina drunk, naked, and all over three male
strippers that she organized for her 21st birthday. Ashmore has told Christina
that this video could be all over the news/magzines and porn sites world
wide in a matter of hours if its released."
April 25, 2004 - Christina
Aguilera just took part in a radio interview on KRBE in Houston to discuss
her tour with Chingy. She also was asked about this Virgin Mobile commercial,
where she's only going to give the "illusion" of being naked, and she says
she's not engaged and there's no ring on her finger, but admitted she put
her foot in her mouth by claiming she's single. Download and listen to
the interview here.
April 21, 2004 - Spearsworld
writes "Speaking as an avid fan of both Britney Spears' performance prowess
and Christina Aguilera's unparalleled belting, I have to say the Onyx Hotel
Tour was more entertaining than the Justified/Stripped tour-hands down.
First, for all those trying to compare ticket sales and so forth...the
Christina fans need to stand down. When I saw her and Justin last July,
it doesn't matter whether or not the show sold out because more than 70
percent of the audience seemed to be there to see Justin." Read more.
April 21, 2004 - Patti LaBelle
spoke with Las Vegas Weekly about Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Pink and
Mya performing her hit, 'Lady Marmalade', from the 'Moulin Rouge' soundtrack.
"When the song came out for 'Moulin Rogue' people wanted to know what I
thought about it, thinking that I was going to be a catty heifer and say
I hated it, she tells Richard Abowitz. "I loved the way they did it." In
fact, a couple of years ago, LaBelle joined Aguilera and company to perform
the song at the Grammy Awards. Patti stole the show. "I had my 15 seconds
of fame, but I worked that little 15 seconds, because I felt so proud that
these little kids are doing my song. What a compliment." Read more.

writes "As an admitted fan of both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera
(more so of Britney) I have to say that for the past 6 months I have been
so disappointed by Christina. Christina obviously can't stand the fact
that everything Britney does gets more attention than what she does, even
if they do the same thing." Read more.

or Britney Spears I suggest you don't read this but its all up to you.
I am a fan of Christina and Britney, just to clarify. I both respect them,
enjoy their music, and been to each of their shows. Personally I think
Christina has an amazing voice there is no doubt that she can sing. Britney
doesn't have as strong as a voice but with the songs Britney sings her
voice is good. I mean Britney's voice is decent. Christina's is amazing,
I am not going to lie. Personally I love Britney's songs especially her
new songs, I am not expecting everyone to like it but I like them." Read

of the past, including Billie Holiday - something she thinks her older
fans will enjoy. She adds, "It's going to be fun to dip into these waters

mobile is shot in Los Angeles this week. "Christina is going to be naked
so she doesn't want loads of people watching," a source explained. "She
will just have a few key people in the studio for the raunchy stuff." Aguilera
will film two versions of the TV advertisement, one for daytime and the
racier one after 9 PM.
April 14, 2004 - Edna Gundersen
of USA Today took part in a chat with the newspaper's readers on Tuesday
and was asked her opinion on Christina Aguilera. "I find Aguilera one of
the least interesting, most aggravating stars to emerge from the Mouseketeer
incubator," she said. "She has a marvelous set of pipes that she mocks
with overwrought vocal gymnastics and squanders on lame material." Read

April 14, 2004 - WENN reports
sources say Christina Aguilera is desperate to record a duet with Joss
Stone. "Christina's gone absolutely mad for this girl," the source explained.

writes "I'm writing this essay in regard of the way people in general talk
about Christina Aguilera. This is going to be blunt and incisive. To all
of you that make up these dull and pre-school names for Christina (i.e.
Ho-tina, Slutina) trying to degrade her, grow up it only makes u look stupid
and dull-witted. Furthermore if you people doing that are fans of Britney
Spears, you really need to look at your idol because she's the one deserving
of those titles. Sorry, but anytime you have to simulate masturbation and
sex on your tour to get attention (that might I add isn’t working), you
have a reached a new level of degradation and desperation."
April 4, 2004 - PinkPurple

April 4, 2004 - shamrock
writes "Apparently, Pink isn't walking away from her feud with Christina
Aguilera. Us Weekly magazine reports she's been appearing on stage with
three blow-up dolls representing Mya, Lil' Kim, and Christina while performing
their smash hit 'Lady Marmalade'. "She started singing to the ugliest doll
on stage, 'You are beautiful, no matter what I say,'" an audience member
tells the mag, adding, "Then she roared with laughter. It was funny, but
really bitchy.""

writes "I have been a Christina Aguilera fan since I heard her sing 'Reflection'.
And I became more of a fan once I heard more about the person she is. Her
voice is so powerful and beautiful. I loved her first CD because of her
vocal talent, but I was really impressed when she took control of her career
and became heavily involved in the writing and production of 'Stripped'.
Not only can she sing, but she has shown she has writing skills too." Read

April 4, 2004 - The Fort
Worth Star-Telegram has a sarcastic look at the many looks of Christina
Aguilera. Their thoughts on her latest? "Wow! Our little vixen's all grown

their daughters the unimaginable question, 'Why can't you look more like
Christina?'" Read more.

April 4, 2004 - According
to the latest popbitch.com newsletter, British comic Daniel Kitson recently
stayed at a hotel in Dublin, Ireland only to have to put up with really
loud sex in the next bedroom. Kitson called some of his pals into the room
so they could have a listen, which included the mysety woman screaming
to be "fu**ed in the ass, big boy." The next morning, when he brought the
subject up with the hotel's receptionist, the person responded, "Apologies
Mr. Kitson, you're not the first guest to complain about Ms. Aguilera's
noise!"
April 4, 2004 - Malcolm X
Abram of the Acron Beacon Journal previewed Britney Spears' show at the
Gund Arena in Cleveland Thursday night. Abram writes of Spears' new image:
"It's the new Britney and all of those adult subjects are only part of
the grown-up Spears. Like Christina Aguilera, yet another former Mousekateer
who shook her teen pop queen image to become an adult neo-diva, 'maturation'
for young women in pop music seems to mean dressing scantily and bumping
and grinding at nearly every opportunity. Interestingly, Aguilera, who
is a talented singer with the fashion sense of a well-financed streetwalker,
often gets tagged a 'skank' while Spears, whose talent lies almost entirely
in her looks, moves and willingness to use both to generate money, merely
gets tagged racy or controversial. Aguilera also has yet to marry a friend
on a whim only to sober up and change her mind several hours later." Read
