May 31, 2004 - 'Everybody's
Fool' eventually made it on to Evanescence's debut album and was released
this month as the fourth single, taking shots at pop tarts such as Britney
Spears and Christina Aguilera. Singer Amy Lee talked about the message
behind the video saying, "It was like five years ago that my little sister
were getting into a lot of this -- okay, I don't want to say this to offend
anyone, like really fake, cheesy, like slutty female cracker box idols.
And it really pissed me off. She's like 8 years old and started to dress
like this her. I gave her the talk and I wrote a song." Read more.

A lot to talk about. A lot going on in the city right now of new york.
A lot of sailors in town right now. [Cheers and applause] Yeah. Because
it is fleet week right here in New York City. Isn't that nice? Fleet week.
Yeah. Yeah, after hearing this, Christina Aguilera said, 'Hey, at my house,
every week is fleet week'."

May 31, 2004 - Avril Lavigne
spoke with Jane Stevenson of the Winnipeg Sun and again gave her opinion
on Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, expressing a clear preference
regarding her more scantily clad contemporaries. "I personally look at
that stuff, and watch it and think it's really cheesy," said Lavigne. "And
I think it's kind of nasty. But, I mean, that's their choice and that's
their vibe and that's what they go with. And, of course, guys love it.
I'm kind of talking more about Britney. She bugs me more than Christina
does. I just have a little more respect for Christina 'cause she sings
for real. And she's got a great voice. And I think she's really talented.
And, whatever, she does the whole hoochie mama dance thing and that's fine.
I don't have a problem with her." Read more.

Britney is tasteful, while Christina is trashy. When you see Britney is

vocalist. Okay, now everybody repeat that 1000 times, so we don't have
to hear that tripe ever again! Christina has a voice, and that's it! Unlike
Britney Spears, she is not multi-faceted, multi-talented or particularly
artistic. It takes more than a four octave howl (and that's all it is)
to be considered a decent recording artist, much less the Queen of Pop."

May 20, 2004 - Billboard
senior writer Ray Waddell, who has tracked tours for 17 years, tells the
Northwest Times he predicts several high-profile bands will announce tours
in upcoming weeks, nudging peak on-the-road season beyond October. While
this year should be another record-breaker in revenue, the slate's too
top-heavy to send every act home rich, he noted. An early casualty is Christina
Aguilera, blaming her scrapped tour on strained vocal chords. (Rumors pinpoint
low ticket sales). "There are always some losers," Waddell said. "You can
only go to so many shows. It taps some markets a little. In the winter,
if you play indoors, you have to juggle shows around hockey games, too."

May 13, 2004 - Despite Christina

to "strained vocal chords", The New York Post reports that the singer was

two backup singers and two dancers in a studio in Burbank," a source revealed.
"It sounds more like she will do a pared-down tour." A mini-tour might
help Aguilera save face at the expense of some credibility. The day she
announced the news on 'TRL' on April 29th, she told Damien: "I'm calling

Aguilera cancelled her tour? I mean, she said she a vocal chord problem,

May 2, 2004 - A music industry
insider tells The New York Post reports don't buy Christina Aguilera's
explanation of strained vocal cords for cancelling her summer tour with

"There are treatments they give, and people usually take a week or two
