August 30, 2004 - The New York Daily News reports that the duet between Nelly and Christina Aguilera at the MTV Video Music Awards in Miami on Sunday night almost didn't happen. "Nelly and Christina Aguilera's camps are having serious issues about the VMA performance," a backstage source said before the show. "Both artists' entourages are fighting over the least little thing. Twice, Nelly's camp thought Christina was going to pull out of the show." August 23, 2004 - britneys_hubby writes "Don’t expect to see Christina Aguilera at Britney Spears’ wedding to Kevin Federline, even though she is talking publicly about the couple. In the new Us Weekly, Aguilera says, "I cant believe that girl bought her own engagement ring! I've seen it, up close. It looks like she got it on QVC." The girls have known each other for most of their lives and Christina commented, "I know Britney. She's not trailer trash, but she sure acts that way.""

August 23, 2004 - In Touch magazine conducted a poll on who is the best showbiz mother, with Justin Timbelake's mom Lynn Harless topping the list, edging Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns at #2. August 23, 2004 - Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports that Skechers footwear has yanked a controversial ad depicting Christina Aguilera as a provocative nurse after a storm of protest from nurses around the country. "Nurses are realizing that our media image has a lot to do with the nursing shortage," said Sandy Summers, the center's executive director. "If we don't fix the media image, we can't fix the nursing shortage." Read more.

August 23, 2004 - MTV News profiled the planning that goes behind making videos, citing Hugh Surratt, vice president of marketing and creative at RCA. "In Christina [Aguilera]'s case, all of the videos from her last album came from her own vision," Surratt said. "It varies with our different superstars. Dave Grohl, very instrumental. August 23, 2004 - According to Groovevolt.com, Christina Aguilera was seen a few weeks back leaving a clinic and more recently was spied vomiting outside a New York City club, increasing speculation that the singer is pregnant. "The rumors will always be there," her label rep said, adding, "At this point, Christina is the only who knows if she is pregnant or not." August 23, 2004 - Christina Aguilera is talking about her removed piercings again. "I've taken out all my piercings apart from one in my right nipple. That's for me," she was quoted by The Sun. A pal said Christina was "well past the piercing thing" and was enjoying life with record executive boyfriend Jordan Bratman. "At least now airport metal detectors won't go crazy when she passes through," the pal quipped.

August 23, 2004 - On their way to dinner at the Toscana restaurant in Brentwood, Christina Aguilera asked boyfriend Jordan Bratman to pull over so she could throw up outside the vehicle. The oral regurgitation didn't stop Aguilera from continuing on to the eatery for a meal. "She has had a stomach flu all week," her reps explained to The New York Daily News. "She is not pregnant!"

August 23, 2004 - The Daily Star reports that after competing for lead roles in a remake of '60s classic 'Valley Of The Dolls', Christina Aguilera has struck a friendship with Australian actress turned singer Holly Valance. "Christina told Holly that she thought she had deliberately worn a raunchy outfit to show her up," a source revealed of their initial meeting. "But Holly just laughed and took it on the chin. The next thing was Christina laughed too and they just hit it off. Christina was bowled over by Holly's presence on camera." August 16, 2004 - Christina Aguilera and her corporation, Three Wishes Productions, Inc. have retained lawyers in the FansRule bankruptcy proceedings in an effort to get refunds for the fans who paid money to FansRule to purchase concert tickets, and whose money has not been re-paid. Those fans may have received notice from the former Chapter 11 Trustee, Joseph Baldiga, of a "Motion for Order Clarifying Priority and Treatment of Certain Claims" and a scheduled hearing on that motion for August 17, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bankruptcy Court in Worcester, Massachusetts. In that motion, Mr. Baldiga is seeking an order making his own fee a higher priority than repayment to consumers. Aguilera's lawyers have filed a formal written opposition to Mr. Baldiga's motion, and intend to be at the hearing on August 17 to present oral argument in opposition. Fans also have the right to be present at the hearing on their own or through their own counsel. Aguilera will be advising fans of the result of the hearing, and we will otherwise keep them apprised of their efforts to obtain reimbursement on their claims.

August 16, 2004 - AFP reports that celebrity photographer David Keeler has sued Christina Aguilera, claiming he was spat upon and beaten up by her bodyguard Vernon Warren after he snapped an unflattering picture of her leaving a Hollywood nightclub. Keeler alleges that Warren was encouraged to "harass, intimidate, assault and batter photographers taking what defendants deemed to be photographs unflattering to defendant Aguilera." Read more.

"This is crazy! It's a complete fabrication," the rep said. "Christina and Jordan are just fine, and she wasn't even at Scores."

August 9, 2004 - Ken Barnes of USA Today took part in an online chat with readers and was asked about Christina Aguilera's image makeover, and if jazz and blues from the era she's emulating would suit her voice well. "Not singing at all would suit her voice well (or, more accurately, would suit me well)," Barnes responded. "Her various image shifts have so grossed me out that I can't summon up any interest in what she might do--and her voice is more showy than one of lasting quality, I think.
