June 25, 2006 - AGUILERAFAN
writes "Over the past few weeks fans of pop star Christina Aguilera and
socialite Paris Hilton have been posting articles over supposed rivalry
between both these stars with Hilton fans beaming with joy over her minor
victories against Aguilera. However as a fan of Aguilera I have to say
this, Christina has won hands down, firstly look at her new single 'Ain't
No Other Man', which has recently peaked on the HOT 100 @ the 19th spot
after its first week of release! Can we say the same for Hilton's 'Stars
Are Blind'? No! The truth is Paris is no match for Christina, who is a
well established pop icon and has way too many fans than Paris will ever
have. People who are posting these articles are mostly Britney fans who
will stop at nothing to see Christina failing. They even refer to pathetic
top 40 radio stations that are playing Hilton's single and not Aguilera's.
Truth be told though, I never thought the song was going to see the light
of the day. I thought it was utterly rubbish, but I guess some people thought
otherwise since it is doing wonders for Aguilera! I personally was sad
of the song and still am for that matter because I think 'Dirrty' is a
much nicer song than 'Ain't No Other Man'. However, I have to say congratulations
to Christina, you go girl!"

writes "Recently I been noticing Christina Aguilera's new image, and the
only thing I can think about is---um, okay? Don't get me wrong, I think
it's cool that she's trying to have fun with her image and her style, not
only with her clothing but also with her music. But doesn't anyone get
the feeling that she's trying too hard? What's up with the whole Marilyn
Monroe meets Betty Boop image? Haven't we seen that from her before? Sometimes
I wonder why she always has to flaunt the whole burlesque/ Marilyn Monroe
image. In my opinion, it's coming off as being redundant, predictable,
boring, and just extremely campy (from what I've seen from a clip of her
new
music video). I'm glad that she's still being cool and raunchy, but sometimes
I think she puts more attention in her image than her music, which is a
shame, because her voice is pretty decent, but nothing spectacular. She
tends to over sing A LOT. A whole lot actually. She can obviously sing
the high notes, but she over sings and belts them out so much that the
songs tend to lack emotion. She seems to care more about showing off how
high she can sing a few notes than just singing with emotion. In other
words, she's a bit over the top to me. Tries so hard to portray so many
things in her image (Marilyn Monroe, Betty Boop, campy burlesque hoochy
mama, dirrty girl meets glamour Hollywood) and tries so hard to over sing
that it seems like she's shouting in between the song. It just doesn't
work for me. I like Xtina, but something about her just turns me off. No
originality needs to do something different, and maybe let her voice be
more of the focus than this burlesque thing she's flaunting (again)."

writes "Today as I was done checking some stuff online, and reading some
emails, I thought well why not go to the billboard charts, and see what's
happening. To my surprise, I came to see that Christina Aguilera's first
single, Ain't No Other Man is on # 19 on the Hot 100 airplay. That is amazing!
Considering that the song is a "hot shot", and has only been on the chart
for 1 week. That's got to mean something really big, because usually songs
go to # 1 or top ten with help of airplay, and sales. Ain't No Other Man
has just been released and hasn't been released on any CD just officially
on iTunes, which means that the song has been selling a lot, and people
really like this song because some artists don't even get to number 20
even with 10 weeks on being released as a single. This goes on to prove
that Christina is here to make history with this album, and the song is
clearly on it's way to becoming a # 1 song, to all the people that doubted
her, and the song, and who said that no radio station was going to play
it, and that it was worse than Dirrty, well Dirrty only went to #48, and
this song is already on number 19!!, this is huge!! This could be really
good for her, and if the song gets to be number 1 then it will be her 5th
number one!! I am so excited for her; I hope that she gets to deliver more
good songs with this upcoming album. Back To Basics is going to show that
Christina is here to stay, and really worked hard for the success that
is about to come her way."

and #18 on the Pop 100 Airplay."

June 13, 2006 - Carson Daly
joked during his 'Last Call' monologue on Wednesday night, "Tomorrow is
the big MTV Movie Awards. This that's cool, my old buddy Christina Aguilera
is all set to perform. It's good to see her back. I thought this was interesting.
Just to be on the safe side, they are handing out condoms to everyone in
the first five rows. [Cheers and applause] Why do I do that? She's married
now too. It makes no sense."
June 13, 2006 - Buzz Bishop
of Z95-3 FM in Vancouver blogged about his experience interviewing Christina
Aguilera and listening to her forthcoming double album 'Back To Basics'.
He writes, "Some songs will sound familiar to Stripped, but inspired by
Linda Perry's vast record collection and DJ Premier's mashing of new and
vintage beats, Christina also takes fans down an unfamiliar road, one laced
with burlesque, horns, smoke, jazz and blues. But it really shouldn't come
as a surprise that shes finally done this, Christina has been talking about
her love of standards and blues and jazz since her first interviews for
Genie In a Bottle 7 years ago." Read more about his review
and interview, and his reaction
to the singer's fans responding to his remarks.
June 13, 2006 - MTV News
reports that Christina Aguilera's upcoming album, 'Back to Basics', due
out August 15th, has grown into a double-disc effort. The first half of
the album is kind of a throwback with elements of jazz, blues and soul
music combined with a modern-day twist, like hard-hitting beats," the singer
explained. And for the second disc, "We creatively went into our own zone
and our own world together," Aguilera said of her work with Perry. "There
are no cover songs, so we made more of a '20s, '30s vibe with an authentic
and organic twist." Read more.

writes "Okay, for the last time Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears haters.
You all have got to stop comparing them to each other. How long have we
been growing up and have been listening to Christina and Britney? 8 years
now? Damn, and you all still compare them. I thought that was already over.
No one does that anymore...but I guess since you all do it, then I should
have no problem doing it either right?" Read more.

"We have two very different artists. One whatever she touches goes gold
(Britney Spears), and another who takes years to make a good album (Christina
Aguilera). Britney is a international icon. Whatever you say, it is true.
She has sold over 85 million albums and she has only been around for 8
years. Her singles do great and top many charts. On the another hand, you
have Christina, who has sold 42 million albums and has 4 U.S number 1's."

writes "Hello, everyone. First of all, I have to admit that I am disappointed
about what has been going on here in this site since Christina Aguilera's
new single leaked to the net. Anyway, in my opinion the song is really
good but I heard a little part of another song from the Pepsi commercial.
I kind of liked it more." Read more.

writes "Okay, I must first start by stating that I am a huge Christina
Aguilera fan. I just heard the song AINT NO OTHER MAN last night, and I
am completely in love with it at this time. I was kind of nervous for the
song and for her success because we all know that Christina always does
something different and she doesn't follow what other people do, but this
song is really great. I admire her because she's the only artist other
than Madonna who isn't afraid of reinventing herself, and proving to people
that she can still do what she wants and will have people talking about
her." Read more.

writes "Curiousity got the best of me, and I listened to the song on AOL.
And honestly, the song is garbage. I've never 'loved' a song by Christina
Aguilera, but she has had some tracks that have been guilty pleasures of
mine. I'm not sure who produced the track, but it sounds like Rich Harrison,
who's had some hot sh** with Amerie and Beyonce. But misses with Christina
obviously, the track trys to be soulful. Yet tries to be hip and danceable,
and fails. It's a bore, and won't garner much of a reaction. I've read
reactions from fans, I mean the rational ones. Not the ones who who'd praise
a turd that Christina left in a gas-station bathroom, and the reaction
seems the same. It's a let down, they had high hopes, after patiently waiting
four years for new material...While Christina partyed hard, had three-ways
and married a hideous record exec in a over-top wedding. Christina's record
may garner a little attention, but radio will basically ignore her in exchange
for new material by Nelly Furtado and Paris Hilton."
June 13, 2006 - FemaleFirst
reports that Christina Aguilera was set to pose topless to prove she has
not had a breast enlargement, but hubby Jordan Bratman convinced her to
nix the idea. "Christina was thinking of doing something radical to end
all the speculation but Jordan was horrified when she mentioned she wanted
to pose topless," a source revealed. "He wants Christina to move away from
her old image and posing naked, or semi-naked, would go against that."
The source didn't explain Aguilera appearing semi-naked in GQ or how posing
topless would "prove" she didn't have implants.

June 2, 2006 - When The Chicago
Sun-Times asked a slate of singers and vocal coaches which pop stars possess
real vocal talent, nearly all of them mentioned Christina Aguilera. Celebrity
voice coach Roger Love remarked, "She's the last new artist that was really
incredible. I teach Natasha Bedingfield, who's got one of the top pop records
in the country, but there's still nobody out there who can sing like Christina
Aguilera. She has a 3-1/2-octave range, and she sounds totally powerful
with it." But Chicago Symphony Orchestra composer and pop arranger Cliff
Colnot had a different opinion of Aguilera's new pop rival. "Mariah Carey?
Oh, come on," he sneers. "If you asked who was the most famous, then yes
-- Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera. But I
didn't think that was your question. Mariah Carey ... is a little trick
pony. She leverages her range like she should, but it's not new or unique.
She's borrowing from other people." Read more.
June 2, 2006 - Neil Sean

call. Read more.
June 2, 2006 - Sky News quotes
