April 28, 2000 - The National Enquirer reports this week that Christina Aguilera recently said in an interview "One part of why I wanted fame so bad was to use it to spread the word about domestic violence and child abuse. It was something that I had been exposed to." The tabloid goes on to say Aguilera's father, Fausto Aguilera, finally met with Christina for the first time in 12 years earlier this year backstage after a New York concert appearance in January. What turned out to be a pleasant reunion could be short lived according to Christina's grandfather, who says the charges are untrue, though Aguilera's close friend Ashley Hickcox suggests Christina indeed was abused.

April 27, 2000 - MTV got a hold of Fred Durst to comment on Christina, here's what he had to say "For one thing, Christina's amazing, I really like that girl. I think she's an amazing singer. She's gonna have longevity. She's going to be one of those amazing icon women. I'm really attracted to her, I like her, and I've talked to her a couple of times, and that's that. I haven't had any type of relationship with her, or any type of intercourse with her. She's never sucked my d***, she's never sucked Carson's." [now this is the kind of frankness we appreciate... besides, Fred's got his hands full with a chain of Playboy playmates, and trying to cover up that bald spot on his head! Lose the cap buddy!]

April 27, 2000 - MTV had the making of and the debut of Eminem's Real Slim Shady, Christina is depicted at the Grammys as a blow up doll. [ask yourself this, if he hates pop bands as much as he says, why the hell did he pick up on Christina in front of a worldwide TV audience earlier?]

April 27, 2000 - Christina Aguilera was on a Sonicnet/Yahoo/Doritos chat tonight but it only lasted about 25 minutes and in general was fluff. She did address concerns about MP3 destroying the music industry and how she wishes that the medium would disappear. No questions (allowed I assume) about Em, Fred, Carson, Enrique, etc. and was generally fluff. Side note, Christina didn't handle the spontaneous nature of the questioning very well, particularly when asked about her 3 best qualities, maybe that's why *NSYNC at Britney had/will have a more active roll in their SNL appearances?

April 27, 2000 - Well New York Post blind items and Eminem be damned, Christina was voted #4 in Maxim's 100 sexiest women issue, well above Britney who came in at 36th.

April 26, 2000 - Well the internet is abuzz about the Christina vs. Eminem controversy, and none moreso than Groupiecentral.com, who's posters are laying into Christina bigtime. Some quick quotes: "I heard that she was in fact with Fred - my girlfriend works with a music firm based out of LA" ...more trash "Her attitude is the worst I've seen in any star in a long time and I say this from meeting her although it's also pretty obvious from seeing how she is on TV." and "actions do speak for themselves, and Christina is not a good example I don't care how great her voice is, she gives herself a BAAD name" ...from someone who's claimed to met her "when I met her at an awards show last summer, (even BEFORE she was famous) was totally obnoxious and conceited."...and finally "She looks to me like she is mini me for Donatella Versace. Everytime that girl opens her mouth I despise her more each time."

April 24, 2000 - You may have noticed Christina Aguilera singing on Sonicnet.com commercials that have been appearing on MTV. Sonicnet, by the way, is owned by MTV Internet, though so far they haven't overlapped the two site's content we've noticed.

April 24, 2000 - Christina as you may know will be singing at Greenbrier High School's prom on April 28. There's a lot of talk that the girls at the school don't like the idea since she'll take all the attention away from them.

April 23, 2000 - popcentric.com is reporting a new Christina rumor, saying that she was 'shunned by the cast' of SNL for asking them "I'm thinking of going to the Cannes Film Festival, does anyone know where it will it will be held this year?" It's always held in Cannes, France. [clever rumor but we doubt its truthfulness]

April 22, 2000 - Christina's mom has addressed several more rumors on the christina-a.com site. Quick rundown, her and Enrique are just "friends" (she doesn't have a celeb boyfriend), the Mariah TOTP comment never occurred, she's not warring against Britney, she was asked by Playboy to pose nude but declined. The Enrique part seems to be sideskirting the issue, we put merit in that one.

April 22, 2000 - The New York Daily News had a recap of our earlier comments about Christina and Eminem. Apparently she did consider going to court but decided against a suit because suing for slander requires that somebody takes him seriously. It's obvious in the song that he's making this stuff up about a lot of people." This did cause the column's writers to comment later on their eYada.com program that perhaps there may be some truth to what Eminem is saying and that is why she doesn't want to sue.

April 20, 2000 - We had a chance to listen to the new Eminem song today, basically he's claiming he'd hate to win a grammy because he'd have to sit next to Britney and then listen to Fred Durst and Carson Daly argue over who got [oral sex] from Christina first. Then he says he might play an MP3 of him getting it from her. [on this note, stay tuned for a new abstracts Eminem page in the next few weeks! Yeah, we'll dig up all the dirt!]

April 20, 2000 - If you thought the Britney vs. Christina rivalry wasn't heated enough as it is, we're hearing that Germany's Bravo magazine is revealing a possible relationship between Justin Timberlake and Christina. It's said that the big diamond ring that Christina was wearing on Men Strike Back was a friendship ring from Justin.

April 20, 2000 - We wonder if Christina will forever be bashed by others. This time South Park had pig like Christina monsters that were a side effect from the kids getting a dose of Ritalin.

April 20, 2000 - Ok, we have no clue why the damn poll keeps resetting. Geez, we pray it's a programming glitch and not someone actually deleting the data file, can't imagine who'd bother! Anyways, Britney won poll's #1 and 2. Vote quickly, coz we don't even know when it'll reset again!

April 20, 2000 - Music legend Carole King tells E! Online's Ted Casablanca that music's preoccupation with looks, Britney and Christina being specifically mentioned, is anything new. She says "That's the way it's always been, but I don't think it keeps the talent from getting out." Ted later dissed Britney re: the comment.

April 18, 2000 - Christina Aguilera will record her Christmas album in May with her one of her idols Etta James, who's At Last is part of Aguilera's live show set list.

April 18, 2000 - Eminem is continuing to bash Christina and is telling exactly why, as MTV reports Aguilera's appearance on a recent MTV video countdown in which Aguilera discusses Eminem's cute-babe factor, marital status, violent lyrics, and rocky lovelife. Eminem tells "NME," "I respected her until she said this about me.... She totally blew it." [geez, what's the matta 'Em, truth hurt? Apparently the wannabe can dish it but can't take it.]

April 18, 2000 - More fallout on the Christina SNL appearance. As expected, Christina-a.com posted a flat denial and the foxnews.com columnist retracted earlier remarks, though not without trashing Christina's style of dress. [btw, did anyone notice that Sisqo's mic died on him on SNL last week while singing thong song? After this past week, one almost wonders if this was planned?]

April 18, 2000 - For some reason our poll reset, though the voting trends weren't effected much... We're looking into it, could be that it was rolled over?

April 17, 2000 - Christina won New Entertainer of the Year award at the fifth annual American Latino Media Arts Awards Sunday. Access Hollywood also had pictures of her arriving with George Santos who was her date for the evening (no, we have no clue who he is, perhaps a Latin actor?).

April 16, 2000 - Another picture from Christina's performance on Men Strike Back in New York, Tuesday.

April 16, 2000 - Sears and Levi's will sponsor Christina's 37 city concert tour that will hit the US and Canada. Exact tour dates and cities will be announced April 27, and first tier tickets will go on sale April 29.

April 16, 2000 - Christina sang the opening anthem for the first Pittsburgh Pirates home game (her home town) this season on April 4th.

April 14, 2000 - In the what Aguilera rumor isn't true bin, z100 today claims that Mariah wasn't the reason Christina sang with the boys, but rather it was a marketing decision to have her on to draw a heterosexual male crowd as well. This seems reasonable, though it still leaves open the photo snub we reported earlier.

April 14, 2000 - In VH1's review of Christina's Men Strike Back performance they say "Young Christina Aguilera has a diva's pipes already and can cram more notes into a single line than a trio of Mariahs."

April 14, 2000 - Worldpop today claimed the person responsible for hitting Christina over the head with a flowerpot was Mariah Carey... don't worry, they were joking.

April 14, 2000 - Richard Johnson today claimed on eYada.com that eyewitnesses saw that Enrique left Nell's 10 minutes before Christina and her entourage did, though he speculated that perhaps that was to throw off those same witnesses. [besides, if the two were to start dating, could you think of a better match for Christina? We can't!]

April 13, 2000 - More details from Richard Johnson on Pagesix.com, where he reports that Christina and Enrique "ended up entwined in a lusty liplock after a steamy dirty-dancing session at Nell's Wednesday." A witness told Johnson "They just started going at it, they were kissing very deeply, very passionately. They weren't trying to hide it at all."

April 13, 2000 - Christina was bashed over the head (yeah, just like Britney) by a flower pot which fell at New York's Pastis after yesterday's Men Strike Back performance.

April 13, 2000 - eYada.com's Richard Johnson today reported that Christina Aguilera was "all over Enrique like a 'cheap suit'" during the Men Strike Back post party at Pastis.

April 13, 2000 - We're hearing that Eminem's new CD will include tracks that take shots at Britney, 'N Sync, Puff Daddy, and Christina. Christina has said that Em's accusation that she is promiscuous is untrue and that he is upset over comments she said she made at him in jest. We hear these comments were that Eminem was an AAWB (African American WannaBe).

April 13, 2000 - Christina will be doing a headlining tour this summer and MTV reports she will have Destiny's Child open for her. She told MTV news "I'm really a huge fan of Destiny's Child."

April 11, 2000 - We're proud to announce Abstracts.net is the #1 search result (for now anyways) for the term christina aguilera on aolsearch. This may put Britney's #1 position on our poll in jeopardy, as she's #25 (was #11) and Jessica Simpson drops to #3 (was #1).

April 11, 2000 - We're getting additional word on the rift between Mariah and Christina, apparently the reason she got moved from the Divas to the Men Strike Back in the VH1 specials is that Mariah requested that Christina not be allowed to perform with them.

April 11, 2000 - eYada.com's internet radio gossip host Lori Kramer absolutely slammed Christina Aguilera today, saying she was "skinny as a bone" and was "an unattractive girl hidden behind 4 pounds of makeup" after seeing her on TV over the weekend (we presume SNL). Though she did say she is "very talented" and "has a 10 times better voice than Britney". Kramer's co-host Richard Johnson added "her breasts are definitely fake". April 11, 2000 - In a follow up to our Saturday Night Live report earlier, we're hearing that Z100 is saying the people that were booing Christina after her second song on SNL were crew members. What we wonder is what she did to make these guys put their jobs on the line to pull this?

April 11, 2000 - Rick Dees is reporting last Tuesday that Christina Aguilera
is parting way too much according to her record company. Partying,
nightclubbing, etc.

April 11, 2000 - Rick Dees reported last Monday that Christina Aguilera has
been dumped by Carson Daly in favor of Tara Reid.

April 11, 2000 - The New York Daily News is reporting that Carson Daly will
be taking Tara Reid with him around the country as he does TRL in remote
locations. The paper added "Christina Aguilera, who had a real crush on
Daly, must be heartsick."

April 9, 2000 - Another autographed pic of Christina this time an after performance picture from a Chicago show. The 8x10 (item #302626282) currently is bid at $11.50 and ends April 16.

April 9, 2000 - Christina was on SNL last night. She performed I Turn To You and later What a Girl Wants. What we wanna know is what the hell was the crowd doing at the end of the second song? It sounded like a moose call or some weird sort of booing. Hopefully these punks were quickly escorted out the building, although the show was over at that point anyways.

April 9, 2000 - Christina has an autographed picture up for bids on eBay. The 8x10 picture (item #302610020) runs until April 16 and has an opening bid of $9.99.

April 8, 2000 - MTV had Making the Video on tonight for I Turn To You, it was the first I'd seen it so I'm not sure if it was the premiere or not, but they filmed late into the night to finish and once again she plugged Wendy's [note to Dave Thomas, hire this girl to endorse your product, I'm sure it'll be an easy sell as she plugs your burgers all the time anyways!]

April 8, 2000 - Popcentric.com is reporting second hand (thus treat as RUMOR) that Top of the Pops interviewed Christina (well we know this part is true, it's on their site) and apparently Mariah Carey refused to be photographed with Aguilera. Christina was quoted as saying "It was actually hard for me to take at first because I have idolised her for so long and I just wonder why?"

April 6, 2000 - More confirmation on the Tara Reid + Carson Daly lovematch as Pagesix.com confirms the two made their first appearance in public as a couple for the premiere of Black and White in New York.

April 6, 2000 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca slams Christina (though more Britney than her) in is reader feedback section, saying in response to "Wannabe singer starlets like Britney and Christina could learn something from" Sheryl Crow, saying "Yeah, singing lessons, for starters. (Certainly Britney.)"

April 6, 2000 - Christina was on Access Hollywood tonight talking about her new video and they mentioned the Latin Grammy awards may have a few nominations in store for her, and will be held at Staples Center like the Grammys were.

April 4, 2000 - Rick Dees reported last week that Christina said in a recent interview her biggest turn on was men who make her laugh and that her biggest turn-off were men who have facial hair and don't shower.

April 2, 2000 - Christina Aguilera will be the sole woman performing in VH1 Special Men Strike Back, where she will be doing duets with the likes of Sting, Backstreet Boys, Tom Jones, D'Angelo and Enrique Iglesias. The show will premiere Tuesday, April 18 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT).

April 2, 2000 - Sonicnet.com has an article about Christina talking about how she is striving for a long career in the music biz and her Spanish album. Supposedly the Spanish album will include fresh material rather than just a Spanish translation of her English album. She also talks about the frustrations that MMC has caused, saying "It frustrates me when people don't take a minute to recognize the differences between all of us. They just lump us all together, just because we're about the same age and have similar backgrounds."

April 2, 2000 - The New York Post today is reporting that Carson Daly is now dating fellow MTV personality Tara Reid, who is said to be gaga over Carson after meeting him at Spring Break in Cancun. She's left LA to live in New York to be closer to Carson, so we guess this means Christina is out of the picture, if she ever was in?
