December 31, 2000 - Looks like Christina Aguilera's desire to hook up with Timbaland to help produce her next album as we reported earlier this month may be in jeopardy, as Entertainment Weekly quotes him as saying, "I'm turning people away. I can't be giving out my sound to everybody anymore. I got to look out for me."

December 30, 2000 - USA Today's Ken Barnes rated Christina Aguilera's What a Girl Wants as the #1 Worst Song of 2000, saying "Genie in a Bottle could have made my 10-best list last year, but everything since (Girl was chosen to represent the complete works) has sorely tested a nation's patience. With a vocal-riff and midriff crisis reaching alarming proportions, Aguilera has in the space of a year replaced Mariah Carey as the most irritating singer in pop."

December 29, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is featured here in an autographed picture wearing a miniskirt that's being auctioned on ebay. The photo, item #532244293, is unbid at $19.99 and ends January 4th.

December 27, 2000 - A psychic named Morris Fonte was on TRL today talking about predictions for the new year. He says Eminem would be doing a duet with Christina Aguilera by 2002.

December 27, 2000 - The Star lists chocolate milkshakes as Christina's junk food secret craving. The Star also reports Christina had a professional painter come in to paint her West Hollywood apartment after her boyfriend Jorge offered to paint it. Christina thought the offer was sweet but after weeks of breathing in paint fumes, decided to have her and Jorge spend the weekend at the Argyle Hotel on Sunset Strip while the apartment was being painted by the pros.

December 25, 2000 - The New York Post reported on the Shelly Kearns reaction to thesmokinggun.com's publishing of her tour rider Sunday. As we reported earlier, editor Danny Green insists the riders are authentic. He told the Post, "We obtained Aguilera's rider from two promoters in two different cities, and the documents are identical. We understand a stage mother's desperate attempt to control every bit of information that comes out about her daughter, but since we have the contracts to prove our story, perhaps Kearns should focus her energy on the Christina and Fred Durst rumors."

December 24, 2000 - Christina Aguilera finished as the #24 most popular search on Lycos.com for the year, with the #1 position going to Britney Spears.

December 23, 2000 - EW.com reports Christina Aguilera is Grammy winning music producer David Foster's choice to perform the official anthem he's been commissioned to create for Salt Lake City's 2002 Winter Olympics. When asked why he didn't select Britney Spears, Foster said Spears is a star, but not "a great singer.... If I know anything at all, it's whether someone can sing, and Christina can really blow people away."

December 23, 2000 - During the performance at Madison Square Garden Megastar reports Christina "stole the show" despite appearances by Micheal Jackson and Whitney Houston. They also report a recent poll showed she was the star most fans would like to spend the night with.

December 22, 2000 - Shelly Kearns is backpeddling a bit on her opinion that TheSmokingGun.com's posted Tour Rider isn't real saying that the health food items on Christina's list of demands were probably for Steve Kurtz. Also, Shelly explains the police escort is for Christina's protection so that in after concert traffic jams, she isn't a sitting duck. Read more.

December 19, 2000 - Christina's mother is clarifying her daughter's affection for bad boys on the LiveDaily message boards. Shelly says, "As for the bad boy thing, I think that what Christina means is that she likes the masculine edge that bad boys sort of have over more clean cut imaged boys...not that she likes anything a guy might actually "do" or any bad behavior that would categorize him as a 'bad boy'"

December 18, 2000 - Christina Aguilera's various health issues were listed in Entertainment Weekly's yearly wrapup in the Merry Maladies segment, where they encouraged 3 cans of chicken soup. The magazine also suggests her next single be called "Robitussin in a Bottle."

December 16, 2000 - Shelly Kearns today responded to The Smoking Gun's publishing of her tour rider calling it "total and complete trash." Kearns added "That's right....she's never made any such "demands", for Pete's sake!" Kearns attacked the list of demands chiding, "She doesn't even know what soy cheese is...she can't stand dried cranberries, and never has eaten, let alone 'preferred' anything ORGANIC in her life!" After corresponding with the editor of The Smoking Gun, Abstracts.net can exclusively reveal Daniel Green responded to Kearns' comments stating "These riders are all 100% authentic and to suggest otherwise is to libel our site." Green also added that he is considering legal action against Kearns.

December 16, 2000 - Christina Aguilera's Christmas card design is being sold at Apla.org with the money going to help helping the 8,000 plus men, women and children in Los Angeles living with AIDS. Prices on the cards are $5 ea. or $25 for 10.

December 16, 2000 - MTVasia reports Christina Aguilera is upset seeing magazine articles about her competition between Britney Spears saying, "It is sad to pit two young girls against each other over and over. I just broke down and started crying one night about that article because of how mean it was, just to talk about, 'Oh, Britney's Madonna without the brain.' That is so mean and it's like, shut up, already!"

December 15, 2000 - Christina Aguilera's mother is again making headlines on the LiveDaily.com message boards. Commenting on Christina's recent health problems, Shelly said, "Well, her voice is doing much better. It's been a long while since we heard her speaking voice so hoarse, huh? Already her schedule is becoming much more balanced. She's still got a touch of a cold, but is coming along nicely." Shelly divulged her feelings for her daughters boyfriend Jorge saying, "I love him to pieces! He's the sweetest guy I've ever met. What a total sweetheart!" Commenting on recent comments by music critics regarding Christina 'oversinging', Shelly spouted, "I don't let it bother me, and I hope Christina doesn't either, because people tend to hugely complicate an extremely simple thing. Fact is, it's so simple. You must just be yourself. Christina is just being true to her feelings when she sings...just being herself. Period. Christina is merely pouring her heart out in song." Finally, when asked about Westlife's recent charges concerning her daughter's diva-live attitude in a club, Shelly replied, "She never did any such thing, as far as demanding that they get out of any seat or anything. She doesn't even know them well enough to recognize them."

December 15, 2000 - The New York Post reports Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera walked past each other several times at the Billboard Music Award after-party at V Bar in Las Vegas, but the two stars barely acknowledged each other, according to a spy.

December 15, 2000 - MTV.com is reporting Christina's comments about her new album, as she reveals "I'm getting many, many ideas for the next record. I can't wait to sink my teeth into it and really get going on it, because it's going to be a whole different project. I'm really excited to get into it." Aguilera also hopes to work with Puffy and Timbaland on the project.

December 15, 2000 - Snoop when asked who he thought was better, Christina or Britney, replied to BET, "Christina Aguilera’s got a pretty voice. I like her voice. No disrespect to Britney Spears; she got a nice voice too, but I think Christina Aguilera could do more soul with her voice. She could probably sound better on hip-hop track than that pop." And about him and Aguilera doing a duet? "She’d be better off doing gangsta records. I would work with her. Why not?"

December 14, 2000 - Christina Aguilera's mother Shelley Kearns returned to answering questions today on the LiveDaily.com message boards by attacking the tabloids. Kearns was as always denying tabloid reports of Christina complaining of a poorly drawn picture of herself at the Santa Monica pier, as we reported earlier, saying "that's just one of those blatantly ridiculous tabloid type LIES. That NEVER happened. Total fairy tale." Kearns added, "I still wonder how those people sleep at night, spreading all that rubbish around...like as if celebrities aren't people with feelings or anything!"

December 10, 2000 - New York's WKTU has floated the rumor that Micheal Jackson will perform for the first time in five years at the December 19th Miracle on 34th Street concert at Madison Square Garden, which is already set to feature Destiny's Child, Ricky Martin, Toni Braxton, Marc Anthony, Sisqo and Christina Aguilera.

December 10, 2000 - 14 year old British singer Charlotte Church is responding to Eminem's attacks on Christina Aguilera saying, "Poor Christina. If he would have said that about me I would have gone up to him and punched him on the nose."

December 10, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is featured in a pair of autographed picture auctions on ebay. The first photo, item #520136190, shows Christina in a black tank and is bid at $6.99 and ends December 13th. The other shows Christina trying to put some meat on her bones, #520604931, which is unbid at $19.99 and ends December 16th.

December 8, 2000 - More details on the Ricky Martin / Christina Aguilera duet as Christina postponed a Lycos chat earlier this week telling fans, "Please forgive me for not being available this evening. An incredible music and career opportunity has come up for me to record a duet with Ricky Martin. Because our schedules are so crazy this was the only opportunity that we both had to get together. We are in the studio and the session is running late." The chat has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 12 at 9PM EST. Allstar is reporting the duet will probably be Nobody Wants To Be Lonely off of Ricky's Sound Loaded album.

December 8, 2000 - Worldpop reports Britney Spears was hecked by Christina Aguilera fans when she got out of her limo for the Billboard Music Awards. A particular fan shouted, "Britney can't even lip sync on key ... and when she doesn't lip sync she sucks." Later other fans began chanting, "Spear Britney! Spear Britney! Spear Britney!"

December 7, 2000 - Christina Aguilera walked away with the uncoveted GroupieCentral.com Sluttiest Female Celebrity Award at the My VH1 Music Awards, where they reveal of Aguilera, "Once again Christina Aguilera was doing her Mariah Carey impersonation by wearing the sluttiest, skimpiest gear. Unlike Mariah, Christina doesn't have anything on her body to show off. It's no secret that Christina has turned into a diva with a major attitude and it seems to be getting worse. She gets the sluttiest celeb award not necessarily for acting slutty with the a lot of guys (which she's been known to do under other circumstances) but for giving off her typical cheap and easy attitude."

December 7, 2000 - Cindy Adams reports Christina Aguilera's friends will be holding a 20th birthday party for her on the 18th.

December 7, 2000 - CDNOW's AllStar reports Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin have recently talked about doing a love-song duet together according to those close to the two.

December 7, 2000 - Julie Moran was backstage at the Billboard Music Awards for ET to ask Christina about her colored hair look, where she responded, " I just like to change it up every time, do something a little different." December 6, 2000 - Entertaindom.com reports Eminem's thoughts on pop music, summed up as "My instinct is to screw Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears and kill every member of 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys."

December 6, 2000 - While many sites yesterday were reporting Christina Aguilera's special beat the ratings of both *NSYNC and Britney Spears last week, they fail to mention Christina's show was on a larger network and was the beneficiary of starting before ABC ratings powerhouse, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Besides her countless MTV drop-ins, her new holiday CD, and her official website, the heir to Britney's throne knows how to rub fans the right way."
