February 29, 2000 - In the interest of fairness, Christina's official site has come out refuting several recent tabloid claims that we have reported here, so from her official site offers the following:
-Christina has never spoken with, met or attempted to ever communicate with Prince William.
-Christina was not even in the State of Utah, much less attending the Sundance Festival.
-Due to a completely false article in one of the supermarket tabloids, many radio stations have falsely been saying that Christina had plastic surgery. [read Breast Implants here, and abstracts.net would be inclined to agree, we see no difference!]
-Christina has not spoken to Fred about the Grammy's or anything else
-Christina and Carson have never dated and did not go out on New Year's Eve [no mention of the Atlanta strip club incident though we see!]
So who knows, reports did have Aguilera's reps acknowledge the strip club incident, and it would seem odd she'd go there with Daly in that setting as 'friends'.

February 28, 2000 - News out earlier this month courtesy of Rick Dees who's Dees Sleaze report said that Christina Aguilera hasn't seen her father since she was twelve and would like to re-unite someday.

February 26, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is making headlines in the UK where Megastar is reporting that her friends are worried about her hanging out with an older crowd and drinking. She was seen drinking strawberry margaritas at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah earlier in the year and of course they repeated the report of her getting a lap dance from a male stripper with Carson Daly in an Atlanta strip club. They also dropped the bomb that Aguilera has been sending Prince William gifts in an apparent attempt to steal his heart away from Britney Spears.

February 25, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is nominated for Nickelodeon's 13th Annual Kids' Choice Awards in the categories of Favorite New Music Artist and Favorite Female Singer. The event will air from the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, on Saturday, April 15 from 8-9:30 p.m.

February 25, 2000 - Did anyone notice that Christina Aguilera was sitting next to her record producer and not Carson Daly? Word has it that Carson who was there was back with Jennifer Love Hewitt, unfortunately we only have second hand information on this so far.

February 23, 2000 - Christina Aguilera wins Best New Artist in the 2000 Grammy Awards, beating out Britney Spears. She also that there will be a Latin Grammy Awards on CBS later this year. Christina looked shocked when she hear she won mostly because she was so late to the voting deadline with Genie In a Bottle.

February 16, 2000 - Well Jay Leno had a joke last night about how Christina Aguilera and Britney were supposedly feuding, but his crack was that one argued "silicone!" while the other argued "saline!".

February 12, 2000 - More news is coming in regarding Christina and Carson Daly. Apparently the two were seen lip locking after their New Years Eve show in which Aguilera was laying it on thick and stuck around after all the other performers had left the MTV event. Later they were told to have gone club hopping around town. All this comes to the dismay of Jennifer Love Hewitt, who wanted to get back together with Carson, according to friends.

February 11, 2000 - Jay Leno absolutely slammed Christina Aguilera Thursday night in his opening monologue, mistakenly calling her "Christina Aguilar" only to be corrected and saying "I'm sorry I don't keep up on the 12 year old bubblegum music scene!" He then talked about how Christina was interested in acting and Leno cracked that she had been cast in the lead role of The Britney Spears Story Ouch. can Christina possibly go a week without getting dissed?

February 10, 2000 - Christina Aguilera's agent, Steve Kurtz, responded today to a story e! online did last week about how Christina missed several rehearsals for her Super Bowl appearance (see below). Apparently Disney was informed that she couldn't attend some rehearsals due to other obligations and due to the fowl weather plaguing the Super Bowl. Somehow this news didn't get filtered down to everyone hence the worrying by the halftime coordinators.

February 3, 2000 - Christina Aguilera talks about her 'rivalry' with Reuters, saying "I know the press and what-not have always wanted to make this sort of rivalry between Britney and I. But come on, we are very different artists. People will see more and more how different we are, so maybe that will stop this idea that we're competing with each other."

February 3, 2000 - Christina Aguilera attended no rehearsals for her Super Bowl halftime show according to e! online's gossip column out today. The producer's of the halftime show were highly PO'd at her as she barely made it to the event itself. Definately not a good week for Aguilera in terms of PR on the heels of her strip club appearance reported yesterday.

February 2, 2000 - Christina Aguilera spent the night before the Super Bowl in a strip club in Atlanta called Cheetah. Apparently, Aguilera was lured by her current boyfriend, Carson Daly. A witness says Aguilera and Daly were given a lap dance at the establishment. At 19, Christina was in the club illegally, which was a 21 and up alcohol serving establishment. Both Aguilera and Daly deny drinking there. [editor's note: Its pretty safe to say that the news department at MTV has got to be very upset at this lapse in judgement by someone who is supposed by be reporting news, not creating it... Makes one wonder if MTV will end this man's 15 minutes of fame like they have with so many VJs of the past]

January 30, 2000 - Christina Aguilera and Enrique Iglesias perform at the halftime show of the Super Bowl by singing Celebrate The Future Hand in Hand
