October 30, 2000 - Shelley Kearns posted on her Artists Direct message board today. Apparently she's been having computer problems still. Shelly says "Right now, Christina is ill. She was so overworked, and now has a touch of tonsillitis. I spoke to her last night and she's starting to feel better. I told her about everyone's concern. She'd like me to tell you all thank you so much, and that she sends her love."

October 29, 2000 - Christina Aguilera was selected for the My VH1 Music Awards as a finalist for the categories of Must Have Album (Christina Aguilera), Woman of the Year, Welcome to the Big Time, and Booty Shake in an interactive music awards show which will air live on VH1, November 30th at 9:00 PM (ET) from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. You can vote at VH1.com until the moment of the award being announced.

October 29, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is featured in IGN.com's Babe Election 2000 campaign, which is basically a cheap publicity stunt, as Steven Horn, editorial manager of IGN.com admits, "None of the candidates meet the 35-year-old age limit. None have filled out the necessary petitions to get on the ballot. Most of them aren't even American. What does matter is that they are among the most beautiful, sexiest women in the world." October 29, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is featured on a pair of ebay auctions. The first is an autographed picture of her in tie dye, item #480904537, which is unbid at $19.99 and ends November 2nd. The other, item #481592627, features Christina at an awards show and is unbid at $20. That auction ends November 6th.

October 29, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is suffering from a viral syndrome associated with exudative tonsillitis which forced her to cancel several appearances, including a Disney Channel/Time Warner event in New York's Times Square yesterday. Aguilera's camp took the unusual step of announcing the illness through a press release adding that several members of her touring entourage are also ill. Aguilera hopes to perform at the Radio Music Awards on November 4th in Las Vegas and her ABC Special taping November 7th and 8th in LA.

October 27, 2000 - Fred Durst is commenting to Jane Stevenson of the Toronto Sun, saying of Christina Aguilera, "She's young, and something about her drives me crazy about the way she sings and performs and the presence she has. So I was interested in her. She knows that I didn't do anything. Whatever her and Em have issues on -- that's their thing." He continues his gushing adding, "I think she's an amazing performer and singer. I think she's going to stick around for a long time."

October 24, 2000 - The Star reports that Christina Aguilera was awoken in the middle of the night in her West Hollywood high-rise apartment after a false fire alarm went off. Christina took the opportunity though to introduce herself to another apartment dweller and former sitcom star Suzanne Pleshette. Aguilera landed an autographed from the actress, whom her aunt is a big fan of.

October 21, 2000 - The Hollywood Reporter's Fifth Annual YoungStar Awards will be held on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000 at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills where Christina Aguilera will receive the YoungStar Starlight Award for outstanding humanitarian contribution.

October 21, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is featured here in an autographed picture being auctioned on eBay. The photo (item #473394619) is unbid at $7.99 and ends October 28th.

October 20, 2000 - Fred Durst came out swinging against Christina Aguilera for the opening night of the Anger Management Tour saying "Christina Aguilera is a f---ing bitch!" He was pissed at her for "talking sh**" after their duet at the Video Music Awards.

October 19, 2000 - Christina's fired manager Steve Kurtz made a statement to Live Daily which he insinuates Christina is receiving bad advice, saying he hopes that "Christina will question the motives of those persons who have encouraged her to pursue this baseless litigation and isolated her from those who have contributed to her success." October 18, 2000 - More details on Christina's management shakeout, as she's turned to with Don Henley's longtime manager, Irving Azoff, to take over management duties.

October 17, 2000 - Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit was on Howard Stern today talking about Christina. Fred told Howard that he has kissed Christina and took her out once, but that's as far as he got with her.

October 17, 2000 - Allstar reports that Christina Aguilera is suing former manager Steve Kurtz for fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. The lawsuit acuses Kurtz of having "improper, undue, and inappropriate influence over [Christina's] professional activities". In addition to taking 20% of all "commissionable income", Kurtz hired his father, Normand Kurtz and Katrina Sirdofsky, his business partner as two "management professionals" he could work with. Sirdofsky was paid $4,000 a week plus a portion of the 20% commission Kurtz was making.

October 16, 2000 - More comments from Westlife on Christina Aguilera are emerging, "We don't like her. She's a horrible person. She's a snot."

October 16, 2000 - The National Enquirer is reporting that Christina Aguilera visited the Santa Monica Pier and paid $20 to get her portrait painted. Afterwards, Christina yelled "I hate it!" and ripped it up in front of the artist.

October 15, 2000 -Shirley Manson is taking more shots at pop stars in her diary at Garbage's official site, saying "Watched a brief clip of a re-run on the MTV Video Awards and felt horrid. It sort of reminded me of being back at my high school end-of-term party. All the pretty, popular girls (Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez et al) being booed but wooed by the popular naughty boys (Fred Durst, D'Angelo et al.) while all the smart or ugly girls, boy geeks and misfits were either not invited or were left standing solo. It made me depressed. I don't want all the rock stars and pop stars being all chummy with each other. It's so phony and smug."

October 15, 2000 - The UK's News Of The World is indicating why Christina Aguilera sacked her manager Steve Kurtz. Turns out he flubbed a contract Christina had lined up with a perfume called Fetish by not signing it. Even though Aguilera launched the scent in June, she hasn't seen any of the expected millions she was set to make.

October 15, 2000 -  The UK's News Of The World reports that Aaron Carter is a big fan of Christina, admitting "She’s gorgeous. I fancy her."

October 15, 2000 - The grand prize winner of the Sears and Levi's Present Christina Aguilera In Concert' tour national promotion was 18-year-old Shawna Winton of Dickinson, Texas. She got to introduce Aguilera performance at Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles and later went on a $2,000 shopping spree at Sears with the singer. Christina said of the day, "Shawna and I had a blast, just talking and shopping together. She was so excited. Sears and Levi's have created some fun chances for me to hang with my fans.'' Shawna, who has been undergoing treatment for myotonic dystrophy, a type of muscular dystrophy that causes delayed relaxation of muscles after contraction, was equally pleased, saying "It's been a hard year, but getting to meet Christina today was great. It was amazing to go up on stage and introduce Christina before her show."

October 15, 2000 - Christina Aguilera performs at the Mandalay Bay Events Center during Tiger Jam III in Las Vegas Saturday, October 7. The concert benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation that supports childrens charities.

October 13, 2000 - Jessica sent out a diary update today and addressed the comments she made about Britney and Christina in FHM, saying "For the record, I love Britney and Christina and I totally respect them as artist and entertainers. I think they are incredibly talented, beautiful young women and I am actually very proud of both of them. I wish them the best in everything they do. A few of those words in the article were twisted to sound a little better but that is what happens in this business."

October 13, 2000 - The look-a-like contest is going on at Christina-a.com, but like much of the site, it could be set up better. You have to email in your favorite so nobody has any idea how the voting is going... And I'd hate to be the one in charge of manually tallying the votes.

October 13, 2000 - Jessica Simpson in FHM on going up against Britney and Christina again, "When Britney and Christina came out, it was like The Mickey Mouse Club all over again. I had this huge fear. And, no, I am not as successful as them." adding, "I have to accept that, not be intimidated and say people are going to like me for me."

October 13, 2000 - Christina Aguilera on Fred Durst's recent comments about why he performed with her at the Video Music Awards, "You wish you got some nookie from it, He got no nookie. That did not happen, okay? I just want to clear the table right there, and the thing with Carson too. Eminem's whole song did not happen, okay? It just didn't, but it's some really crazy stuff that people want to insinuate and people want to say, and it is hurtful." Among her other MTV Diary highlights, she shared a car ride with boyfriend Jorge while calling him a stupid-ass, a term of endearment she said. Her cropped t-shirts and fast food affection were apparent, as well as management problems, which leaves us wondering, where's Steve Kurtz?

October 12, 2000 - In an Abstracts.net poll asking if you think Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit secretly is in love with Christina, 67.5% said yes, while 32.5% said no, with 2379 total votes.

October 12, 2000 - Westlife is taking shots at Christina's diva attitude as Kian Egan and Shane Filan nixed any ideas of the band doing a duet with Aguilera saying, "There’s no way in the world that we’re going to do that because first of all we don’t like her, and second of all we don’t rate her." The reason? Apparently Aguilera made Mark Feehily of the band move from his chair at a bar, because, as Filan put it, "'Cos she was Christina and he was nothing. When you’ve got ignorance at that level, we don’t tolerate it."

October 11, 2000 - Christina's Mi Reflejo was played on Howard Stern today. Howard thought it was a good idea and that other artists should record in multiple languages so record companies could make more money.

October 11, 2000 - Britney, *NSYNC, The Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Pink, and many other top artists will be on a Jive Christmas album entitled Platinum Music to be released November 14th. The album will be the first holiday compilation marketed by Jive.

October 10, 2000 - We've heard this story before, but the Enquirer is reporting that Prince William prefers Christina Aguilera over Britney Spears, as a friend admitted, "William says Christina sings like an angel."

October 10, 2000 - Christina Aguilera's appearance on the Tonight Show last night included a short interview and later she performed Contigo En La Distancia. They brought out one of Christina's favorite Japanese foods, which were basically pickled plums, and both Jay and the other guest Debra Messing hated the taste of them.

October 10, 2000 - Entertaindom.com reports that Eminem is interested in 2 of the women he trashes in his lyrics, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Em says, "I'd love a threesome with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. I want them both. That would be great, wouldn't it? They'd love it, I'm sure. I just wanna f*** them. Out in the open, indoors, it doesn't matter. There's something about them -- I don't know what. But what I wanna do is take them to bed and do it. You know, make it an all-night thing. October 9, 2000 - Steppin' Out magazine's Colleen Christian was on eYada.com's Chaunce Hayden show Sunday saying there is a rumor going on around Hollywood that Christina Aguilera was carded trying to buy alchohol in a local store and after they refused to sell booze to her, she threw a hissy-fit and instead got her limo driver to buy the alchohol instead. Colleen said that Christina is used to getting her own way.

October 6, 2000 - Jessica Simpson is putting both Britney and Christina on blast, according to today's report from Entertaindom.com. Says Simpson of Aguilera, "Christina and I talk, and I think she's a great person underneath the facade. She is very big right now; she definitely knows she has sold eight million records and I don't really like that in people. I don't think you should act like that. I don't think you should block the halls off when you want to walk down the hall. It's important to stay normal, but people lose their heads in this business. They lose who they are as people. I knew Christina before her stuff came out and she's a great girl, but -- boom! -- she hit so fast and some people just can't handle it." [well if they talk, I'd love to be a fly on the wall the next time the two meet and discuss this.]

October 5, 2000 - Shelly Kearns is revealing more info on Fausto, saying on her message board yesterday, "I'm also quite impressed with the status of things with her natural father, Fausto. I actually have seen a tremendous amount of healing take place, which is a blessing in itself. He's become very supportive, has made major amends and is quite supportive of her being open with everything in order to help those still in such a situation. Very few abusers come to recognize, admit the gravity of their mistakes and then have the courage to go on to rectify things as he's done--particularly when they've got the entire world watching. That takes a LOT of work. I'm suprised and feel I must hand it to him."

October 5, 2000 - Newsoftheworld.com is revealing comments Christina reportedly made at a New York bar. Her tirade reportedly included "Britney’s not all that! Anyway, who does she think she is? My songs are as good if not better than hers. It’s just that she gets more publicity. We’ll just see who lasts the longest and who’s No1 next year." Remember though, this is the same site that claimed Britney and Justin were engaged.

October 5, 2000 - More comments emerging from Shelly, as she dismisses claims that Christina and Jorge are engaged. She also is asking for prayers for her Aunt Ruth, who's in the operating room now under grave conditions. Shelly added that Christina was touched to hear Madonna's compliments she reportedly made about her, though Shelly cautioned her cynical believes on media truthfullness but hoped this story was true. Finally, Christina is Catholic, and was baptized, though not confirmed, because there just wasn't enough time to take the required classes Shelly explained.

October 3, 2000 - Fred Durst is explaining his singing with Christina Aguilera in the Video Music Awards to MTV, saying "I already told you guys before, I did it all for the nookie, man. That's why I did that with Christina. I want that girl, that's that. What do you want? I don't want to make music like her. I can't stand that kind of music. October 3, 2000 - Ramiro Burr has some good things to say about Christina despite initial thoughts that she may be cashing in on the Latin music bandwagon. He admits, "The kid's got talent. I think that, yes, if one wanted to be a cynic, they could say she was out to make money strictly off the bandwagon. October 2, 2000 - Thirsty.com is reporting that one of their spies working at the Staples Center the day of the Latin Grammy Awards were asked by Christina Aguilera where she could light up a smoke in privacy away from fans and media. She then was pointed to the back of the building, though no word on whether she actually did smoke.

October 2, 2000 - Christina has inked a deal with Coke to appear in print and TV ads, though it may be difficult working around SAG striking actors, and some are wondering whether she'll be one of the few to cross the lines.

October 1, 2000 - Christina's mother made news today with the admission of physical abuse, where she admitted "Christina thought up and opened an entire foundation, called The Christina Foundation, to help victims of domestic abuse. She's scouting all around the country for the best places to open shelters where they will make the most difference--help the most. What inspired it? Well, she witnessed my ex husband being quite abusive--emotionally and physically--to me and grew up determined that, if God blessed her with her dream of fame, she'd use it somehow to help people in that situation."
