September 28, 2000 - Vibe's mention of Christina on their 100 Most Influential brought some criticism from readers, who said "you had the nerve to include... Christina Aguilera's wannabe-black ass."

September 28, 2000 - This is a rumored comment Nick Lachey made on whether Christina or Britney would win in a fight that was reported on a message board yesterday: "My money is on Britney, because Christina is a SKELETON! You can't imagine seeing any strength in her body at all. Although I think she's more evil - so she might perserve!"

September 28, 2000 - Vibe's 20 Questions asks this month at #17, "Is Christina Aguilera's Spanish language album, Mi Reflejo, a sincere expression of a connection to her Latin roots or just a way to gain a little street cred?"

September 28, 2000 - Christina's mother is posting again on Artists Direct's message boards after a vacation in Florida where she spent time with Christina and enjoyed Disneyland. She comments on whether the MMC kids still get along saying, "Oh, all that negative stuff is total nonsense!! She gets along wonderfully with all of them--NSync, Keri...everybody. No reason not to. They've all been friends since MMC, and nothings ever happened to change any of it."

September 28, 2000 - Vibe's Ed Morales is giving props to Christina's Mi Reflejo, saying "Aguilera exquisitely turns out her inner Ecuadoran and transcends her suburban Pittsburgh origins with remarkably authentic Latin feeling." He adds the album features "the obligatory remakes... but the songs seem to mature in the translation."

September 27, 2000 - Christina-a.com is holding a look-a-like contest that is running until the 30th, with 6 finalists being chosen to square off in an online poll at the site. The winner will be announced October 30th and will receive a phone call from Christina... cheap promo eh?

September 26, 2000 - Worldpop reports that Britney Spears and boyfriend Justin Timberlake were on hand to watch her show at the Mars Music Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach one week after Britney had completed her tour.

September 25, 2000 - The story we reported from Ellen K last week was originally from Star, as they report that Christina didn't fess up about Jorge to mom. A friend told the Star, "She likes having a behind the scenes love affair with him. She didn't even tell her mother when her tour recently wound its way through her hometown of Pittsburgh." A pal also added "Jorge is a good, down to earth guy and Christina feels like she can be herself with him instead of trying to live up to something she's not." Besides, "now Christina's in a relationship where she calls the shots" the friend added.

September 24, 2000 - Christina Aguilera's Ven Conmigo has been nominated for Best New Artist Clip of the Year, Latin, for the Billboard 2000 Music Video Awards.

September 23, 2000 - entertaindom.com reports that Christina Aguilera will be opening a shelter for abused women and children, saying "I grew up around a lot of hard times and this is just my way of giving back. Right now I'm in the process of getting together my own domestic violence shelter, for domestic violence and child abuse too and maybe teenage pregnancy."

September 23, 2000 - eBay is featuring a Christina Aguilera caricature auction. Unfortunately, these are just laser prints, limited to 40 though at $9.95. The auction (item #444550989) ends September 27th.

September 22, 2000 - The Wammy Awards chose Christina Aguilera for "Best Artist Campaign" which took place at San Francisco's famed Palace of Fine Arts hosted by comedians Sue Murphy and Will Durst.

September 22, 2000 - Christina Aguilera has seen her new all-Spanish language album, ``Mi Reflejo,'' hit #1 on Billboard's Latin 50 chart in its first week of release, making Christina the only artist in history to have back-to-back #1 premieres with an English language album followed by a Spanish language album.

September 22, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is to receive the Starlight Award, an award recognizing outstanding achievement for children and teens aged 6 - 18, spurred by her charity work with forming the Do Something foundation, which has raised over $1 million to help turn young people's ideas for a better community into action. Christina will be presented with the award November 19th at the Wiltshire Theatre in Beverly Hills.

September 21, 2000 - Jesse Nash of Pagesix.com responding to questions asking if Christina is a bit**, "Christina Aguilera is not a snot-nosed bit**, she is a hard-working girl whose career is going through the roof. You should stop believing everything you read. Most of these young talents are nothing like the press reports them to be like, their careers are handled behind the scenes by adults who also feed the media machine so people like you will stay interested or else, she may not sell as many records."

September 21, 2000 - Christina Aguilera travels in a caravan of 5 buses, and Ellen K reports on Dees Sleaze today that when Christina is in the mood, the tells the drivers to pull over so 24 year old Jorge Santos can get out of the dancer's bus and into her private bus. Ellen exlaims, "he is not only sleeping with her, he's getting paid for it!"

September 21, 2000 - Singer Richard Patrick of Filter is lashing out at Fred Durst's negative comments about this year's Family Values lineup, which will be minus Limp Bizkit, saying "Fred thinks that Family Values II is bullsh**. You know what's bullsh**? Fred getting onstage with Christina Aguilera and embarrassing us all."

September 21, 2000 - Christina Aguilera was ripped by E! Online's fashion police for her Latin Grammy outfit. They said of the wardrobe, "Christina Aguilera is starting to repeat herself. Not only does her over-the-top belly-dancer outfit at the Latin Grammy Awards hit all the wrong notes, it's almost identical to the one she wore the week before at the MTV Video Music Awards. It doesn't help matters when stylist Trish Summerville piles on the chains, sequins and old-lady jewels. And don't even get us started on that two-tone hair."

September 20, 2000 - Christina Aguilera is ready to have laryngitis again because shows she's planning to perform at are only half sold out, according to theories by Ellen K on Dees Sleaze. She thinks this because *NSYNC and Britney Spears sold out the same venues (ie. Tampa) in only 45 minutes. Ellen adds there may be a little broken heartedness going on and her heart isn't in it. September 20, 2000 - Christina Aguilera will be on Access Hollywood to discuss what she calls a rough childhood.

September 19, 2000 - Christina's mother again checked in with her message board at Artists Direct, saying the thong rumor that Christina was reportedly to be wearing in her next video is 'totally untrue.' And when asked if she was concerned about Christina's revealing attire at the VMAs, she said "Her dress? No, why on earth would I worry about a piece of cloth? Worry in what sense? It's just clothes."

September 19, 2000 - philly.com has a special feature with Christina ahead of a concert performance their recently, where she's quoted on her upcoming albums, saying "At this point, we have one more Christmas song left to record," she shared, as her publicist was bursting on the line to declare the interview over. "We've done it while on tour, here and there, all over - in Toronto, Chicago, L.A. Trying to get two albums out and tour at the same time has been kind of crazy and exhausting. September 19, 2000 - Christina recently had a few fans come onstage at her concert who had won a contest, but when she asked one of the girls names, she yelled "Britney!" causing Christina to chuckle.

September 18, 2000 - Christina Aguilera tells AllStar why she performed with Fred at the Video Music Awards, saying "I knew Fred had wanted to do something for a while, but it was something that MTV really put together and approached both of us with. It was cool."

September 18, 2000 - Speaking of the VMAs, Christina has denied allegations of her surprisingly dark skintone there saying "No, I am not wearing a bronzer." Of course the Enquirer cracked "she wasn't wearing much else either!"

September 17, 2000 - MTV Asia is running a special feature, blondes on parade featuring Britney, Christina, Jessica, and Mandy. The site is polling user favorites and giving out prizes, so check it out at MTVasia.com.

September 17, 2000 - Christina's rumor mill section has been updated, where claims that Christina got her navel pierced at 12 years old were declared false and that she's never gotten it pierced. They also reveal there will be a new Christina merchandise store, www.thechristinastore.com, starting in late September. September 16, 2000 - Christina Aguilera made People Magazine's worst dressed list in the latest issue. Judge Dana Buchman said of Christina "She's got beautiful bone structure, but it gets lost with all the patterns and decorations."

September 15, 2000 - entertaindom.com reports that Christina defied doctor's advice that she not perform during the Latin Grammy Awards to let her voice recover from laryngitis.

September 14, 2000 - Shelly Kearns message board response to a displeased fan made the New York Daily News today... The line they excerpted "Christina has days where she's no more than a rag doll, yanked and pulled, poked and prodded, put on a virtual assembly line of over a hundred people a day, each of which have their own personal expectations of what she should or shouldn't do . . . as if they are God themselves."

September 14, 2000 - AP's Anthony Breznican on the Latin Grammys, "Christina Aguilera, Colombian songstress Shakira and Latin rocker Alejandra Guzman pushed the boundaries of what they can show off in public. Their shimmering skintight gowns revealed more than they covered."

September 14, 2000 - Obscure pop duo Daphne And Celeste are predicting doom for the teen pop divas, saying "Britney Spears won't be around for much longer, she'll probably just start doing TV shows, Christina Aguilera is destroying her career in various ways, Mandy Moore will probably become a VJ, and Jessica Simpson will probably become the new Celine Dion or something like that."

September 13, 2000 - Steven Jenkins of Third Eye Blind was on eYada.com with Rush & Malloy commenting on the Eminem vs. Christina vs. Britney feud and stuck up for Eminem, whom rapped on his album, saying "I don't think that Britney and Christina need me to protect them from Eminem."

September 13, 2000 - Eminem on *NSYNC, Britney, and Christina all being at the VMAs "This is the one night where you can fit all the people that I don't like into one room."

September 13, 2000 - After resting her throat a few days, Christina recovered to perform in tonight's first Latin Grammy Awards, though lost out in her bid for best female pop vocal performance for Genio Atrapado.

September 12, 2000 - Another review of Mi Reflejo courtesy of Wall of Sound, courtesy of Kurt B. Reighley who says "Love her or hate her, Mi Reflejo is an impressive addition to young Christina's limited canon. Now if she can just learn how to incorporate subtlety into her bag of vocal tricks before she gets too set in her ways, she'll really give Mariah good reason to fret."

September 12, 2000 - From the message boards: Mitchell Fink from New York Daily News was on Showbiz Today on CNN saying "Spears and Aguilera were getting along to the shock of many in the club, but there was no question that both were vying for the attention of Spears on again off again beau Justin Timberlake. Like the Grammy's Christina won, Timberlake and the mini diva were all over each other towards the end of the night. Yet, they left with seperate parties. We all know Christina and Britney share the same personal stylist, but boyfriends?"

September 12, 2000 - Rick Dees' sidekick Ellen K reports that organizers of the New York fair performance that Christina cancelled are upset about her pulling out only to perform two days later.

September 11, 2000 - Carson Daly is interviewed in this month's FHM where he  reveals "I went to a strip club in Atlanta after the Super Bowl, and the guys from 98 Degrees were there, a couple of guys from *NSYNC, Enrique Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, every big celebrity... I don't see what the big deal is."

September 11, 2000 - Howard Stern said today on his show he thought that Britney and Christina looked great at the VMAs, unlike Jennifer Lopez. And of Eminem, Howard couldn't understand why Eminem had a problem with Christina and Britney, since they all are the same thing... teen pop idols.

September 11, 2000 - Eminem lashed out at Britney and Christina at his first VMA performance in LA on Saturday "I did get a chance to run into them backstage and talk to them for a minute, and Christina and Britney and I have officially squashed the beef. It's all cool between me and Christina and Britney... Do you all believe me?" Afterwards he brought out his familiar blowup dolls and rubbed their faces against his crotch, screaming "F***ing c**ts!"

September 10, 2000 - Ahead of her Mi Reflejo release Tuesday, Entertainment Weekly's David Browne is ripping into Christina at all levels, though surprisingly gave a "C" rating to the new album. Among his comments (through the hypothetical voice of Christina, "And I sure showed [my producer] that no matter how many foreign words I had to learn, I can still hit tons of unnecessary high notes." And of Coke using Come on Over Baby, the comment "Michael Jackson was right-hawking your music in pursuit of world conquest rules!"

September 10, 2000 - Christina-a.com comments on her cancelled show in Boston: "Christina wants all her fans in the Boston area to know how disappointed she is that
she did not feel well enough to perform on Saturday night. Christina intends
to rest her voice further over the next few days and is going to do her best to work
out a return trip to the Boston area. Efforts are underway to work out a rescheduled
performance date and venue as soon as possible."

September 9, 2000 - The always controversial GroupieCentral.com is back with their VMA report, saying of Christina: "Christina Aguilera was with her boyfriend Jorge Santos, but he just seems like a boy toy to her. The guy is p****-whipped. Christina's diva attitude is out of control, and she loves the fact that Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst still is hot for her. We wouldn't be surprised if Fred and Christina eventually hook up for something sexual, if they haven't secretly done so already. We also hear that Christina is very attracted to Justin Timberlake, but Britney was making sure everyone knew that Justin was with Britney."

September 9, 2000 - We have late word that Christina is in the hospital. I assume it's voice related, but if anyone finds out, please post on the message boards. We'll monitor Shelly's board also.

September 9, 2000 - Entertaindom.com reports that Christina took Jorge Santos to the VMA awards with her and also that Christina was very uncomfortable during the Eminem song as an onlooker revealed "Christina really hates Eminem for those lyrics, and she didn't know where to look when he sang them for everybody in the audience to hear. It was an awkward moment for her." No word on what Jorge thinks of Fred Durst though.

September 9, 2000 - Entertaindom also reports that Christina has set up The Christina Foundation, quoting from Shelly, "Christina has already thought up and formed The Christina Foundation, it does exist." Turns out mom also is composing a book similar to Britney's Heart to Heart adding "I'm saving up the pictures that the many networks and magazines haven't requested already. The book is coming along well, but slowly."

September 9, 2000 - Thanks from Kathy on the message boards, who reports: from Hot 100, Britney told them she would most likely got to the VMA after party with Christina and talk about all of the cute guys there. Janet Charlton from Star magazine was on FOX news, said that Britney and Christina were at the party thrown by Tommy Mattola and were attached at the hip. They sat at the same table as Justin, JC, and Darren Henson. She also mentioned Justin's flirtation with Aaliyah did not bother Britney at all saying quote "She was much to busy  giggling and whispering  with Christina."

September 8, 2000 - TRL today had all the "other Slim Shadys" on and one told Carson that Eminem was actually looking for Christina during the portion that he dissed her and slapped hands with Carson.

September 8, 2000 - Listening to the radio this morning, the DJs (KNDD) were comparing Christina's role as Fred Durst sung to that of Joe C alongside Kid Rock, saying her and Joe C sounded exactly alike.

September 8, 2000 - TRL guest correspondent Hillary Burton was snubbed by both Christina and Britney last night and joked to Carson today of the snobbery "I dunno, they didn't win..."

September 7, 2000 - No awards for Christina but a couple of huge highlights from the awards. Christina was belting out Come on Over when Fred Durst jumped on stage and all hell broke loose, with Christina rockin out momentarily... Later, Britney and Christina went onstage together, and when Brit asked about getting to see Eminem, Christina was less than excited. It didn't help that Eminem sang his Christina diss and shook Carson Daly's hand at the same time... definitely an uncomfortable moment for Carson.

September 7, 2000 - Christina was interviewed by Brian McFayden before the VMA's admitting that she again doesn't expect anything and hasn't written any acceptance speech.

September 5, 2000 - Christina's crew bus was hit by burglars on early Sunday morning, according to Shelly Kearns. Nothing of Aguilera's was stolen and she reports the local police did help find the stolen items shortly, and the people that are believed to have stolen the items from the crew bus were arrested.

September 5, 2000 - Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly on MTV VMA's, predicts Britney backlash, selecting  *NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye as Video of the Year and Best Group Video, Eminem's The Real Slim Shady for Best Male Video and Best Rap Video, and Christina Aguilera's What a Girl Wants for Best Female Video.

September 5, 2000 - The Enquirer's Mike Walker reveals Christina Aguilera has admitted to being so afraid of the dark, she sleeps with the lights on, specifically, she keeps every light going full bore, though she teases adding "when I sleep by myself."

September 5, 2000 - Christina's mom responded today to criticism that her daughter dresses too provocatively, specifically in her latest video, saying "She's pretty much what you see is what you get! She'll always suprise you for the very reason that she's not going for any particular image. She's herself...she'll change looks with moods, if she likes something, she'll wear it, if she doesn't, she won't----whether it fits some peoples' personal imagination or preference or not."

September 5, 2000 - Christina Aguilera has apparently recovered following taking 3 days off due to laryngitis. Christina-A.com reports she'll resume her tour tomorrow at the PNC Arts Center in New Jersey.

September 5, 2000 - Both Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are scheduled to stop into TRL Wednesday, we'll see if they appear together.

September 3, 2000 - As his new book comes out, Eminem's bodyguard Byron Williams is talking again, this time to The Star, as he reveals Eminem "gave [Aguilera] a kiss on the neck on national TV, but she didn't like it. I could tell he was upset." adding "...Christina made it clear that she has the same clout he has and could probably have anybody she wants." And after Christina's comments on her MTV special, he says of Em "That just kind of set him off and turned his crush into anger."

September 2, 2000 - Shirley Manson of Garbage is again making headlines blasting other musicians though she's softened on Britney, preferring to blast Mandy and Christina saying "It is indeed true that I've softened my hard-line approach toward Britney [Spears] simply because if we're going to have any such vacuous pop stars in our midst, it's all right if it's Britney because she has a sense of humor, unlike [Christina Aguilera] and that hideous creature Mandy Moore. I try not to dis too many of my fellow female musicians, but I make an exception when they really hit rock bottom. Mandy Moore is foul, you must admit. She is absolutely hideous. I want to slap her from here to Tuesday."

September 1, 2000 - Christina Aguilera called into the Rick Dees show today and sidekick Ellen K asked her if she's going out with JC or Jorge, she replied "Jorge is a good friend of mine and so is JC. I'm really trying to focus on my career right now so I can't really commit to anyone."

September 1, 2000 - Also from the Live Daily boards, about Christina and Britney's friendship, Shelly said "I was visiting Christina about a month ago in Los Angeles, and while I was there, Britney left a message on Christina’s cellphone, returning a call. It’s insane!! It’s like so many people absolutely refuse to accept even the idea that they are good friends! Why, I have no idea. But truly, they are good friends and there is no evil war or hatred between them, as the media constantly insinuates. They’ve been great friends for years."
