Cindy Margolis is the first name that comes to mind when you think of internet babes, though a lot of her claims are based on a flawed foundation. While the term "Most Downloaded Woman on the Net" sounds inclusive, Margolis has admitted that the numbers are discounting sites that contain nudity.

This technicality has gotten her into controversy with Danni Ashe, who runs Danni's Hard Drive at Danni.com. Danni has claimed that when Cindy initially said she had 7 million downloads, she upped it to 53 million for the Guinness World Records 2001 edition. With either number though, Ashe blew those numbers away with 841 million downloads, with most of those being nude photos. These numbers also don't take into account celebrities who's pictures appear on dozens, if not hundreds of sites, such as Britney Spears, Pamela Anderson, or Jennifer Lopez. Cindy has managed to market every last drop of publicity that being the most downloaded can generate. While Cindy doesn't do any naked photoshoots, unscrupulous webmasters have spliced images to make it look that way. While Margolis admitted in an online chat, "if you're referring to sites that put celebrities faces on nude bodies, then all I have to say is if they're going to do that to me, that they had better pick someone with a hot body!" her whimsical attitude didn't translate to reality when she hired lawyers to sue those same webmasters eliciting the services of Lyn Milano of Safesearching.com.

While Cindy Margolis set the path the cheescake photos growing up in the Valley and living in the hotbed of vanity, Los Angeles, where she modeled herself after Farah Fawcett, sporting her same feathered big hair when it wasn't the popular thing to do. Cindy went on to promote herself by selling greeting cards with her swimsuit pictures on them. Then she got noticed and swimsuit posters began being produced and sold like wildfire, which caused Extra! to do a feature on her, which afterwards they told viewers that more of her pictures were available on their website. The unprecidented response on the internet caused her to immediately become the "Queen of the Internet." Cindy didn't know much about the web at that time, but used her business savvy to create her Cindysworld.com website, which generated huge amounts of subscription based cash. Cindy used this popularity to appear in bikini magazines such as Sport and Inside Sports swimsuit issues. Cindy's popularity wasn't relegated to print or internet only though, as she has had successes in television and film. Margolis has appeared on Married With Children, Baywatch, Conan, Suddently Susan, Baywatch Nights, Shasta McNasty, a Hollywood Squares regular, and The Howard Stern Show. Her stint on The Price is Right was after Bob Barker's ordeal with sexual harassment charges, so Cindy says he was very gun-shy, saying "Don't touch me!" whenever she tried to be personable with him.

Born October 1, 1968, Margolis may be long in the tooth for a swimsuit model, which may explain her recent decision to not even get into a bikini, which her former friend, now advisary, Howard Stern, says was the only reason people wanted to see her. Before their falling out, she did promote The Cindy Margolis Show on his radio show and admitted that she's recently gotten a breast lift, likely as preparation for her new series. Unfortunately, Cindy's show has been widely criticized, with Ken Tucker lamenting, "Like so many TV shows designed to capitalize on someone who's made her fame in another medium, The Cindy Margolis Show doesn't seem to understand the nature of that person's appeal. In Margolis' case, it's the fact that she's a curvy babe who comes on like the girl next door -- she doesn't do nudity, she seems likable, pleasant, polite. Everything, in other words, The Cindy Margolis Show is not." The show is produced by Burt Dubrow, who does The Sally-Jesse Raphael Show and Jerry Springer so that's a good indication of the direction of the show. Stern infuriated Cindy by saying much worse of the show, specifically that she's not good on camera and when she talks you have no idea what she's talking about. Additionally, Stern thinks Margolis is "whacked out of her skull" if she thinks her show is any good.

Whatever could be said of the show, Cindy did manage to hitch up with the owner of Jerry's Deli, who's named Guy. He had tried several times to set up a date with Cindy only to have her blow his offers off, until her previous manager set the two up, and it was true love ever since. Margolis has admitted she still loves to get marriage proposals but she says she doesn't take them too seriously, which we assume is especially the case now unless she advocates polygamy.
