January 31, 2001 - DMX is
appealing his 15 day jail sentence to the New York State Supreme Court,
according to MTV.com. Last Thursday acting State Supreme Court Justice
Joseph P. McCarthy rejected DMX's appeal, though DMX's lawyer Mark Mahoney
said DMX's guilty plea was misinterpreted by the judge. Read more.

28, 2001 - A judge turned down DMX's appeal to overturn his 15-day jail
sentence on a traffic charge. Earl Simmons is expected to surrender soon
to serve time in the Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden, N.Y.
January 28, 2001 - DMX has
been nominated as Favorite Artist - Rap in the Seventh Annual Blockbuster
Awards. The show will air April 11th on FOX.
January 12, 2001 - MTV reports
DJ Clue's second mixtape-style CD, The Professional, Part II, will feature
cuts from Eminem and DMX, amongst others. The album hits stores on February
27th.
January 4, 2001 - DMX has
been nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance (Party Up) and and Best Rap
Album (...And Then There Was X) in the 43rd annual Grammy Awards to be
held at Los Angeles' Staples Center and broadcast live on CBS on February

poll asking if they thought DMX was dissing Eminem in Party Up, 62.2% said
he wasn't, while 37.8% of the 658 total respondents said he was.
