24, 2001 - The New York Post's Cindy Adams reports DMX ducked out of the
Exit Wounds press junket since he was on crutches, but the same night gave
a performance without the crutches!
March 21, 2001 - DMX tells
Launch.com he has no regrets about his debut leading role in Exit Wounds
saying, "I want to do it all. I want to do it all, you know? I want to
play an 80-year-old white woman if I could, you know what I mean? I want

Daily Variety Chief Film Critic lashed out at Exit Wounds, implying the
funny off-color banter in the closing credits are the best part of the

March 18, 2001 - Steven Seagal
commented to Launch.com about working with DMX, "You know, I don't mean
to sound precocious or anything for my age, but I like to do my research.
I kind of investigated him quite well before we began, and there were no
surprises. DMX was a gentleman with me: reflective, thoughtful, gentle.
I can remember from time to time saying to people in the press [when they
say] 'How's that guy? Is he acting good?' And they kind of look at me funny.
Look at the movie, man--the man is acting as good as anybody. You know,

March 15, 2001 - DMX was
on the Tonight Show Wednesday and unfortunately Jay sidestepped any questions
regarding DMX's jail stay and run ins with guards at the facility. We have

March 13, 2001 - MTVasia.com
reports more details on the brutality DMX suffered by guards at an Alden
jail during his 11 day stay. His lawyer Mark Mahoney revealed "He didn't
have problems with everyone, but there was one guard who wrote him up twice,
and [he] was the one who brought him down and injured his knee." Read more.
March 11, 2001 - DMX was
released from the Alden jail early Friday and is claiming that guards battered
him up during his time served. DMX has been on crutches since his scuffle
on Wednesday according to his attorney Mark Mahoney. Read more.

reports DMX was charged with assaulting a corrections officer after learning
bad behavior would keep him behind bars for three more days. Erie County
District Attorney Frank Clark revealed, "He basically reacted like a 5-year-old."

March 9, 2001 - The New York
Daily News reports film executives at Warner Bros are panicking after learning
of DMX's extended jail sentence. If DMX can get out of jail by Friday,
he can make the special screening of Exit Wounds and the after party at
the Rainbow Room.
March 3, 2001 - Variety reports
Dimension Films is also said to have offered Eminem $4 million to star
in Lazarus opposite DMX. Eminem's rep says he hasn't heard whether Eminem
will take the role, according to the New York Daily News.
March 1, 2001 - DMX finally
turned himself in to Cheektowaga, New York prison officials though because
he was in late arriving, he was sent to court from jail and arraigned on
a charge of contempt of court for missing the date a judge set for him
to go to jail. The new charge, a misdemeanor, has a maximum penalty of
