June 30, 2000 - DMX was indicted
on weapons and drug possession charges in Westchester County, New York
Wednesday in a case involving an incident earlier this year. His lawyer,
Murray Richman, told MTV "He testified truthfully concerning the fact that
he had no knowledge that he had the gun... because it was not his car."
June
24, 2000 - DMX is featured on LL Cool J's upcoming album Imagine That
in two songs.
June 24, 2000 - DMX was in
court Wednesday before a grand jury who is considering whether to indict
DMX on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree,
a felony carrying up to seven years in state prison if found guilty.
June 22, 2000 - Our opinion
poll asking "Do you think DMX will ever escape from 2pac comparisons?"
came in with 39.10% saying no comparison, 33.97% saying someday, and 26.92%
saying never, with 312 votes cast.
June 16, 2000 - MTV reports
that DMX is denying responsiblility for the car accident in New York earlier.
He says Aisha Smith was responsible though he did offer to pay, but that
she was "hellbent on some immediate monetary consideration." DMX added
"An important and fundamental premise of the American judicial system is
the presumption of innocence - that is, until proven guilty."

reports DMX was at a party for Missy Elliot. As he was leaving in his Ford
Expedition, he smashed into a Honda Accord loaded with women. He started
screaming at them "why didn't you look where you were going" when he hit
us. They said "he can't even be a man and stick around." He told the driver
"F*** you b****, I ain't paying for sh**!" One of the girls took down the
license plate.
June 3, 2000 - Sisqo and
DMX will be recording a video for What Y'all Want, the cleaned up
version of What These Bitches Want, which first appeared on DMX's
1999 album ...And Then There Was X. They hope to do it June 10th.
May 20, 2000 - Eminem gave
his props to DMX today by playing his Party Up video on EmTV.
May 19, 2000 - The
New York Daily News reports that DMX is giving back to the church that
gave him shelter when he was homeless. The rapper gave $220,000 to a Yonkers
church who had earlier received an eviction notice.
May 15, 2000 - Ruff Ryders's
Ryde or Die Vol. II is scheduled for a June 27 release and will be a compilation
featuring DMX, Busta, Method Man, and others.
May 15, 2000 - DMX will be
in Andrzej Bartkowiak's Exit Wounds, a Steven Seagal action movie
in a supporting role that should be out this year in theaters.
May 4, 2000 - DMX was sentenced
to 15 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to pot possession and driving
without a license. He also agreed to pay for parking tickets he had not
paid. Earl Simmons though was released shortly thereafter pending appeal.
Apparently when he turned himself in, he was holding more marijuana!
