Times music critic Bob Herbert is putting Eminem on blast saying, "No image
is too vile... Not even mom is immune... the singer's mother, as debased
as any other woman, is ordered to prepare herself for sex with her son.
Album of the year? Only a lunatic could think this was the finest album
of the year."

31, 2001 - Dido will join Eminem at the Brit Awards to help perform his
hit Stan, according to the Sun. An insider revealed, "Getting Eminem was
our biggest coup and this duet with Dido will be sensational."
January 31, 2001 - The British
tabloids are reporting that Eminem has banned groupies from his European
tour, according to Worldpop.
January 30, 2001 - Eminem
has been added to the line-up at this year's Brit Awards. A Eminem source
told the Sun, "We're keeping everything under wraps. But let me just say
that it will blow your British minds. It was touch and go if Eminem was
going to make it for the Brits. But his record label have applied pressure
and he's definitely going to be there."
January 28, 2001 - Pink told
Worldpop her and Eminem are not an item saying, "I'm not going out with
him. I've only actually met him once and that was at the MTV VMA Awards
last year. He's very nice. He's not what I thought or what a lot of other
people thought. He's cool but I'm over him."
January 28, 2001 - KPIX reports
a San Franciscobased group dedicated to stopping domestic violence, The
Family Violence Prevention Fund, is launching a "No to Eminem" campaign
in anticipation of the upcoming Grammy Awards. The executive director of
the group, Esta Soler, said, "We're not saying he doesn't have the right
to sing his songs but the line we're drawing is honoring him and celebrating
him in front of millions of people and saying this is the best we have.
His messages are hate-filled."
January 28, 2001 - An Eminem
spokesman says the rapper will donate a portion of the proceeds from his
upcoming pay-per-view special to Boys and Girls Republic, a Detroit-based
school for troubled youths.

has been nominated as Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Artist - Rap, and
Favorite CD (The Marshall Mathers LP), in the Seventh Annual Blockbuster
Awards. The show will air April 11th on FOX.

Beat reports postive comments from Justin on Eminem though less than positive
comments on O-Town. Says Justin, "Eminem, it's cool to me. We got free
promotion on his album. ... We think he's talented." And of O-Town? "I'm
almost positive that they don't have a clue what's going on," says Timberlake.
"I kind of look back and I feel like that's what we were like."
January 25, 2001 - Jay-Z
talks about Eminem to USA Weekend in an upcoming issue saying, "I heard
Eminem say he raps to get a reaction out of Dre. He was just writing the

D12 in Entertainment Weekly, as they report D12's first single, Purple
Pills, is due out in February, with the albut out in March. Proof told
EW, "Em made a pact with us that if any one of us [got successful], that
individual would come back and get the group."
January 21, 2001 - Megastar
reports Eminem is upsetting fellow members of Crunch gym in Los Angeles
by bringing in bodyguards to his workouts. A witness complains, "It's ridiculous.
Crunch is always full of stars and no one else brings a minder."

reports Brit nominated singer Craig David is voicing his support for Eminem,
saying "I think he's absolutely wicked. I think he has morals behind all
of his stories and tunes. He plays characters as well as coming across
as a very serious rapper."
January 21, 2001 - GLAAD
is organizing a protest of Eminem outside the Grammys on February 21st.
In a statement on their website, GLAAD said, "Eminem's lyrics do more than
glorify violence against lesbians, gay men, transgender people and women
-- they also give permission for young people to abuse and harass people
who are 'different,' numbing them to the damaging impact of homophobia

cancelled a Manchester fan meeting due to threats of protest against the

January 19, 2001 - MTVasia
reports Eminem's Stan has debuted at #6 on the Australian charts, putting
the #1 song by Gwyneth Paltrow no less in jeopardy of losing its reign.
January 18, 2001 - A reader
suggested to E! Online's Ted Casablanca that she's sick of reading about
"girl stuff" like Britney or Christina instead wanting to hear about Eminem.
Ted replied, "So, the chainsaw-championing Eminem is more your speed? Oh,
please. He's just as girly-girl as they come: bleached, bothered and obsessed
with the boys."

has been nominated as Best International Male Solo Artist in the 2001 Brit
Awards.
January 17, 2001 - MTVasia
is reporting comments from Grammy boss Pierre Cossette and his wanting
Em to appear on the show. Cossette explains, "I'm sure he will appear but
he has to come in with his people and discuss what he wants to do. I don't
like his stuff. I don't want my grandkids listening to this kind of stuff
but you have to be philosophical the Grammys are voted on by 18,000 academy
members. As for all the protests, that happened with Elvis. That happens
with anybody the kids appreciate and the parents hate."

Weekly reported on the Eminem Grammy saga in the latest issue, where Grammy
voter Bob Garcia admits, "There's a good chance he will get it. We still
have some of the old faces, but the Academy is starting to think younger."
The Grammys and CBS also want Eminem to perform but that's still a question
mark.

Music Award Favorite New Country Artist nominee Alicia Elliot told Entertainment
Weekly, "I want to meet Eminem. He's a very handsome man and I like to
listen to his music."

Readers Poll 2000, Eminem was named Best Hip-Hop Artist, and Hype of the
Year.
January 12, 2001 - MTV reports
DJ Clue's second mixtape-style CD, The Professional, Part II, will feature
cuts from Eminem and DMX, amongst others. The album hits stores on February
27th.
January 10, 2001 - Eminem
will be playing a private concert in Los Angeles for 1500 guests. 1000
tickets for the show are currently being auctioned
on Amazon.com. Top bid so far is $1,025, but minimum bid is still around
$50 as I write this. The same show is on Pay-Per-View on February 17th.

will be able to appear in the UK after all after a judge allowed him to
travel, according to Megastar. A Eminem spokesman said, "Conditions had
been imposed that restricted his movement. They have now been lifted. Eminem
knows how big he is in the UK and other parts of Europe, so he was keen
to put on a show for the fans. I'm sure they will be delighted that the
judge understood the situation."
Janary 10, 2001 - *NSYNC
were on Larry King last night and when the subject of Eminem was brought
up, Chris Kirkpatrick replied that he had Eminem's CD in his car and thought
it's funny that he's singing Em's song aloud in his car where Eminem makes
fun of *NSYNC.

reports that Grammy award organizers have received thousands of phone calls
and emails from people upset about Eminem getting 4 award nominations.

reports Eminem may boycott the Grammy awards citing his lyrics where he
states, "You think I give a damn about a Grammy?" Em's manager Paul Rosenberg
told Worldpop, "I wouldn't count on it, I can't speak for him but we've

President Michael Greene is commenting on his colleagues behalf on their
controversial nomination of Eminem in four categories. Greene tells MTVasia
Eminem is "repugnant" but also "remarkable" adding, "He hates everybody.
He hates himself. He's got some pretty screwed-up ideas in his head but
in a lot of ways it's also one of the most remarkable records of the year."
