reports Eminem reveals in a new book, Eminem: In His Own Words, "I don't
like to give the sob story: growing up in a single-parent home, never knew
my father, my mother never worked, and when friends came over I'd hide
the welfare cheese."

31, 2001 - Megstar reports Eminem talking about his daughter Hailie Jade
saying, "My little girl knows me even if nobody else does. She knows that
at the end of the day, Daddy is not what he says in his songs. There may
be a part of me that's like that, or that gets angry and wants to say those
things, or maybe wants to actually do those things. But when I'm with my
little girl, I'm not like that at all. I'm Daddy to her."

March 28, 2001 - Detroit
News talked to the guy who bought Eminem's Sterling Heights house for a
knocked down price of $475,000. Darren Martens says the house was a mess

March 26, 2001 - Worldpop
reports British stores including Woolworths and Hamleys have refused to
sell the new Eminem doll, though Tower Records will sell the chainsaw wielding
toy saying, "We think they're pretty cool."
March 25, 2001 - Steve Martin
included Eminem in his opening monologue, "There's Javier Bardem, who gave
such a brilliant performance in a movie about a homosexual poet persecuted
by hostile military forces. A movie the rapper eminem called 'The feel
good movie of the year.'"
March 25, 2001 - Evidence
of Dilated Peoples is taking stabs at Eminem saying "I met this chick you
took home on tour but couldn't get it up/ Alert, alert, you Internet geeks/

March 24, 2001 - Worldpop
reports the Beastie Boys Ad-Rock is bashing Eminem saying, "I think it's
pretty embarrassing for someone to go and say, 'This is my First Amendment.
This is my right as an American citizen to be ignorant and homophobic and
sexist,' It's like, 'OK, if that's who you are and that's what you want
to be, well I don't want to listen to you.' That's my First Amendment right.
I don't give a sh**."
March 24, 2001 - MTVasia.com
reports Nigel Evans, from the Convervative Party in Britain is taking steps
to ban Eminem from the country for encouraging fans to take Ecstasy during
his performances there. Evans stated, ""If it is proven that Eminem, on
stage, was encouraging 15,000 fans to take ecstasy, some of them who may
well be children as well, I do hope that the minister will look at this
very seriously... and that when Eminem next makes an application to come
in this country to play here he is forbidden from doing so. I believe that
someone like this, who is encouraging some of our young people who look
up to him as a role model...is quite appalling."
March 22, 2001 - The New
York Daily News had comments from an insider concerning Eminem's divorce
with Kim as she admits, "It's an on-again, off-again relationship. When
it goes off, it goes off big-time. That alone is a signal it should be
off."
March 22, 2001 - MSNBC's
Jeannette Walls reports Eminem insiders are complaining that Madonna's
new video is an attempt to copy Eminem's controversial success. The insider
told her Eminem's people "think it’s pretty obvious that she was jealous
of all the publicity he got during all that controversy."
March 21, 2001 - Shelly Kearns
addressed talk that her daughter Christina and Eminem had made up at the
Grammys saying at the LiveDaily message boards, "Well actually, there wasn't
any need for any formal reconciliation! They never were all that ticked
off at each other! Right when it happened way back when they were a bit
miffed at each other, but wow...how long ago has it been now? There wasn't
anything to make up over. It's mostly just a publicity thing that the media
makes much more out of little tiffs that really exists. They are fine with
each other already have been for quite awhile. They just are doing their
things, not making an issue out of it one way or another."
March 21, 2001 - The Associated
Press reports Eminem has reached a divorce agreement with Kim that gives
them joint custody of Hailie. Eminem will keep their $450,000 home while
Kim will receive $475,000 to purchase a home.
March 21, 2001 - New York
Newsday reports Donald Fagen of Steely Dan commenting on the reaction from
reporters after receiving the Grammy over Eminem, "Even when we went backstage
they seemed pretty disappointed that it wasn't Eminem. It was as if the
janitors had come to clean up. They should have given us mops, so we had
something to do back there."
March 21, 2001 - Child-care
advocate Dr. Joyce Brothers is blasting plans for an Eminem doll complete
with hockey mask and chainsaw in this week's Star saying, "I can't believe
something like this is being sold as a toy. Do we really want a doll of
someone so dysfunctional?"
March 20, 2001 - Chaunce
Hayden reported on his show Monday that he's working on putting together
a charity boxing match between Violent Jade of ICP and Eminem. He says
he thinks that Violent Jade is willing to do it but that it may be difficult
to talk Eminem into it but if he backs out, he'd look like a wimp.
March 20, 2001 - In an abstracts.net
poll asking if Eminem should remove the blond dye in his hair, only 9.7%
said yes while 90.3% said no, with 3165 total votes cast.
March 19, 2001 - Number 1
on the Entertainment Weekly Hot Sheet is Eminem; "The controversial rapper
will be getting his own line of action figures. They don't move - the action
is when parents throw them in the garbage."
March 18, 2001 - Eminem and
Kid Rock are among the nominees for the 2001 Detroit Music Awards to be
held on April 6th at Detroit's State Theater. Read more.
March 18, 2001 - The January
2001 edition of Top of the Pops UK magazine featuring Eminem on the cover
is being auctioned on ebay. The magazine, item #1417232330, is unbid at
$3.00 and the auction ends March 21st.
March 17, 2001 - Worldpop
reports Eminem and Marilyn Manson have become drinking buddies after touring
together in Europe. The two were spotted drinking the highly-proofed Absinthe
called La Fee, which has been banned in the US.

reports Eminem is building a studio in his Detroit mansion to help look
after Hailie when he's working. Eminem's mom revealed, "Hailie is being
looked after by Eminem, and whenever he's in the studio, she goes to Kim's
parents -- because she's not around, she's not taking any responsibility.
Eminem's building a studio in his home too, so in the future he can just
take care of her himself. Even when he's working, he'll behome to take
care of Hailie."
March 15, 2001 - Brian Grazer
commented on Eminem's upcoming acting gig based on his own life saying,
"It'll give him an opportunity to tell the story of his life," adding "I
think that Em has a very fluid quality in the same way Mark [Wahlberg]
does, and he's extremely charismatic."

March 13, 2001 - Sporty Spice
Melanie Chisholm told the Toronto Sun last week that she is keen on doing
a duet with Eminem despite Em's comments that the Spice Girls are "all
fat and ugly now." Sporty said, "There are a lot of lyrics and ideas he
has about a lot of things that I completely disagree with, but as a musician
and artist, I think he's fantastic."
March 13, 2001 - News of
the World reports more news on Eminem's problem with Vicodin. A source
told the British tab, "Em told me he’s had a lot of stress through arguments
with his wife Kim, who is divorcing him, and spending weeks away from his
daughter Hailie. He’s been going through a very rough time and has turned
to these painkillers as a way out. Sadly, he got addicted. I told him if
he doesn’t stop taking these pills his stomach will get all torn up." Read

March 13, 2001 - Eminem dolls
are coming to music stores as Art Asylum will release the dolls in July.
The dolls will come in two different sizes and will go for about $20 each.
March 12, 2001 - Number five
on the Entertainment Weekly Hot Sheet is Eminem, "His wife has filed for
divorce for the second time. Once she gets half of everthing he'll be known
as Emin."
March 10, 2001 - A friend
of Eminem talked to Us Weekly about Slim's Vicodin abuse saying, "I told
him that if he didn't stop taking those pills, his stomach would get all
torn up. Em told me he was pissing and sh**ing blood."

reports a British school headteacher is blaming Oasis and Eminem for for
the suspension of 60 of his pupils during the last six months. Paul Templeman-Wright
says of Em's mouth, 'I don't know why we allow Eminem into the country.
Liam and Noel Gallagher are just as bad. Elton John also used the F word.
Society is giving out the wrong signals and the youth of today faces a
big culture shock when they come into this school. There is no place for
such language in the classroom or workplace."
March 9, 2001 - Sad news
as MTVasia.com reports a 13 year old Eminem fan hung herself after being
sent home from school when she was caught with alcohol in December of last
year. Kayleigh Davies father said, "Looking back at some of the CDs I let
her listen to: Eminem and Dr. Dre. They talked about suicide."
March 8, 2001 - Dr. Dre is
profiled in Talk magazine trying to get Eminem excited about a sample from
the Partridge anthems, "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat" and "I Think I Love
You" during studio recording sessions. Em improvises a rap saying, "My
son's 16 came to say he had no place to stay... I said he wasn't mine,
slammed the door in his face."
March 8, 2001 - The planned
Eminem and Elton John duet that Grammy organizers hoped to put out to raise
money for charity apparently is being nixed with Napster apparently getting
the blame. The Grammys are now suing Napster over the live tracks that

March 7, 2001 - 24 year old
Iowa teacher Cassie Johnson resigned after she was ordered to halt her
sixth graders' research project about Eminem, according to TVGuide.com.
Apparently the school acted after a parent complained about their kid finding
inappropriate material during an Internet search. Certainly not on this
site!
March 7, 2001 - The Star
reports Carson Daly kept his fiancee Tara Reed away from Eminem during
the Grammys as the two were linked before she met Carson.
March 7, 2001 - The Enquirer
reports Eminem trashed his dressing room at the Grammy awards. The rapper
sliced up the couch in the room and smeared ketchup, mustard, and ranch
dressing on the walls. Grammy organizers were furious and vowing to sue
him. Em also acted like a diva backstage, ordering staffers around to run
errands.
March 5, 2001 - GroupieCentral.com
reported in on Eminem at the Grammys saying, "Eminem was acting like an
arrogant prick, but what else is new? He looked like he was in a bad mood
because his on-again, off-again wife Kim was there. To no one's surprise,
Kim filed for divorce about a little over a week after the Grammys." The
site added Em "seems to be attracted to girls who don't look like Kim."
March 4, 2001 - More details
are emerging from Kim Mathers divorce suit. Kim claims Em cut off her American
Express card and wouldn't let her share in the "tens of millions
of dollars" pouring into their new home.
March 4, 2001 - Eminem is
featured here in an autographed photo auction on ebay. The 8x10 photo featuring
Em and his traditional middle finger salute, item #1412599391, was auctioned
off yesterday for an rather high price of $61.
March 4, 2001 - Eminem is
performed at the 51st San Remo Song Festival Tuesday in San Remo, Italy.
March 3, 2001 - Jay Leno
again joked about Eminem not knowing Elton was gay, this time saying "I
don't think he's that perceptive, Eminem. He's supposed to be street-smart.
I don't think he's that street-smart. Like, last week, Ru Paul said to
Eminem, "Look, this is our tenth date, and I have to tell you something."
March 3, 2001 - Kim Matthers
filed for divorce Thursday in Macomb County Circuit Court. Eminem's attorney,
Harvey Hauer, insists his client's main concern is his daughter, not publicity.

featured on Access Hollywood including his 21st birthday home film clip
with Kim.
March 3, 2001 - Variety reports
Dimension Films is also said to have offered Eminem $4 million to star
in Lazarus opposite DMX. Eminem's rep says he hasn't heard whether Eminem
will take the role, according to the New York Daily News.
March 2, 2001 - Jay Leno
joked about Eminem in his Thursday monologue saying, "Here's my favorite
story of the week. Eminem told MTV this week he had no idea -- no idea
Elton John was gay. No idea?! Does that surprise anybody? You know, I mean,
Eminem doesn't even know he's white! Okay?"
March 2, 2001 - The Express
reports The Vatican has criticised Eminem’s appearance on Italian TV. A
cardinal commented, "This is not a question of censorship. We have to help
young people decide between good and bad."
March 2, 2001 - Sheryl Crow
commented after the Grammy Awards, "After a while, it all becomes sort
of sensationalized news; people hone in on what's controversial, no matter
what, whether it's Jennifer Lopez's dress or Eminem's foul lyrics."
March 1, 2001 - The Sun reports
Eminem is a big fan of custard cremes after he was spotted grabbing a tray
full of the biscuits backstage and went to his dressing room to munch down
on the treats.
