April 29, 2001 - Royce Da 5'9" talked to SonicNet about Eminem's appearance on Rock City, his CD due out July 17th. Royce says, "The reason people don't see us together no more is, one - we're on two different labels. Two - his sh** just exploded overnight. The reason you used to see me and him together so much was because I was his hype man. I used to tour with him, but once I signed my deal, I couldn't go on tour with him. April 28, 2001 - The New York Post's Liz Smith brought up Eminem - Beyonce rumors and asked, "Has this child of destiny been infected with the Jennifer Lopez 'Bad Boy' syndrome?" Smith says, "Well, maybe she'll get over it, just as Jennifer did. A zooming career for a young woman on the rise is not something to be trifled with and Beyonce's managers, family and others are hoping she'll reconsider."

April 26, 2001 - Jay Leno again joked about Eminem in his monologue Tuesday saying, "Eminem now says he's going to appear naked -- he's going to appear naked in the centerfold of a British magazine. After this, he's really going to have trouble claiming he's black." [note to EVERYONE reporting this story, the picture is OLD!]

April 26, 2001 - Marketing Violent Entertainment to Children: A Review of Self-Regulation and Industry Practices in the Motion Picture, Music Recording & Electronic Game Industries by the Federal Trade Commission features statements from Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, who used the hearing to single out Eminem's music as an example of explicit material marketed towards a younger audience. April 24, 2001 - News of the World reports Eminem has legally adopted a second daughter named Amanda, whom happens to be the 4 year old daughter of Kim's sister.

April 24, 2001 - The Star reports a celebrity-friendly West Hollywood hotel had an Eminem look-alike staying there that horrified a housekeeper with a porn movie. Read more.

April 24, 2001 - Eminem pleaded no contest Monday to weapons charges stemming from an argument with an associate of Insane Clown Posse last June. Eminem faces sentencing on June 5th though prosecutor Mark Bilkovic told the Detroit Free Press he wouldn't seek jail time.

April 24, 2001 - NME.com reports Eminem has been added to the lineup for The Carling Weekend which takes place August 24-26. The talk is that Em and Marilyn Manson who also will be at the event may perform together. Read more.

April 22, 2001 - The New York Daily News reported today on a story that's been playing out on our message boards with poster 'CJ', who claims much of the trouble Eminem has been in is purely for pubicity. Em's spokesman Dennis Dennehy counters that "any allegations that these are stunts are completely ridiculous. [Eminem and Kim] prefer that their personal life not be played out in the media." Dennehy also counters Debbie's claim that Kim bought a home next to Eminem saying, "That is not true, she bought a home somewhere else."

April 22, 2001 - Worldpop reports Judge Antonio Viviano is said to be angry about Eminem's comments that he plans to buy a home in the UK and the judge has promised to refuse any application by the rapper to leave the country. Read more.

April 22, 2001 - Launch.com reports on Eminem's upcoming court appearance tomorrow in Oakland County (Michigan). Prosecutors expect Eminem to enter a plea at the proceeding. Read more.

April 20, 2001 - PBS Frontline did a special this week on The Merchants of Cool and a focus was Eminem, who is described as "Currently no music star is more denounced for this than Eminem, a white rapper and hugely successful mainstream artist whose lyrics vulgarly denigrate women and gays and celebrate violence." April 20, 2001 - The Sun reports Kim is building a $1.5 million mansion next door to him, prompting Debbie to say, "It was so good that Marshall and Kim were separating. She's a really bad influence on him and she turns him against me. But we've just found out she's building a home next door to him in Detroit."

April 20, 2001 - Peoplenews.com reports Eminem is looking for a home in London, admitting "I plan to look for an apartment while I'm over but don't know what area to look in at the moment. April 19, 2001 - Andrew Dice Clay talked Eminem to New York Newsday, "I'm not saying I influenced Eminem, but it didn't wind up being another comic. I loved watching the reaction of the media, turning this guy into a superstar. Basically, it's the same material I do as a comic, but he puts a beat to it."

April 19, 2001 - Eminem's attorney Walter Piszczatowski told the Detroit Free Press that he hopes to get probation for Eminem on his second criminal case. Read more.

April 18, 2001 - The Sun reports Eminem does reply to his fan mail as he admits, "I get letters and I'll read them and if it's a good letter and it's not saying something stupid, I'll stuff it in my bag and take it home. I keep stacks of them and every now and then I do actually get a chance to personally write my fans back. I've actually gone to the post office, got stamps and mailed the s**t myself."

April 17, 2001 - Suge Knight is commenting on Eminem stealing Dr. Dre's thunder at the Grammys telling Newsweek, "Dre's a talent - I ain't taking that away from him. But look how the Grammys and Interscope did him. He put out the best sh** last year with his album, and Eminem, who Dre gave credibility. But who did they have onstage? Eminem and that f***** Elton John. Not Dre, didn't even give him a chance to get up and say sh**... I would have made sure he got his time." Read more.

April 15, 2001 - News of the World reports Eminem has been secretly dating Beyonce Knowles of Destiny's Child. The two met at the Brit Awards in February and a friend revealed, "They’ve been out secretly a few times and get on very well. It’s very early stages for both of them but they get on like a house on fire." Read more.

April 12, 2001- Jay Leno again joked about Emine's sentencing in his Wednesday monologue saying, "Controversial rapper Eminem went before a judge yesterday, got two years probation, no jail time. One time he's glad he's a white guy. You know Eminem has caused a lot of controversy because of his songs, considered derogatory to gays and women. Good thing he didn't go to prison, huh? He would have wound up gay and a woman."

April 12, 2001 - MTV.com reports further details on Eminem's 2-year probation sentencing as he told reporters afterwards, "I'm glad the judge and the courts treated me fair and as a human being. April 11, 2001 - Jay Leno joked about Eminem during Tuesday's Tonight Show monologue saying, "Today, Eminem was convicted and sentenced to two years' probation for carrying a concealed weapon. Eminem convicted... Just another case of the cops hasslin' the black man, huh? How 'bout that?"

April 11, 2001 - Stephen Gately tells NME.com that he'd "love to do something with Eminem" adding, "I don't know if he is homophobic or not. If he is, that's just his mentality and I don't hold a grudge against that." Read more.

April 11, 2001 - Eminem was sentenced to two years' probation and fined $2,500 Tuesday at Macomb County Circuit Court on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. Eminem's probation involves no longer being able to possess a weapon, excessive use of alcohol, or drug use or he'll face up to 5 years in prison. Read more.

April 5, 2001 - REM's Michael Stipe is taking shots at the top pop artists and includes Eminem in the bunch telling NME, "One of the great things about being around as long as we have is you watch stuff come and go," Stipe told NME.COM. "It's there, it serves its purpose, it's gone. I really like the disposable pop music that's prevalent on American pop radio: *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and Eminem." Asked to comment if Em just like the other bands mentioned, he said, "Very much...It's no less packaged."

April 5, 2001 - MTVasia.com reports Donny Osmond met up with Eminem after the Brit awards as he revealed, "I was at this awards show, and Eminem came on two minutes after me. He was at the Universal (Records) party, too, and I saw him in the corner, so I walked on over and I said, 'Eminem, I'm Donny Osmond.' And he goes, 'I know you! When I was growing up in Detroit, I used to listen to you all the time. You were a big influence on me.' So there you go. It's my fault! But he was very nice, very well-spoken. A lot of people hate him, but I enjoyed meeting him."

April 4, 2001 - MTVasia.com reports Weird Al Yankovic has said he'll not impersonate Eminem in his future work, as he admits, "Performing one of Eminem's tracks would be good, but there's so much humour to his stuff already, it seems like it might be a little redundant to parody that. It's always funnier to make fun of somebody who takes themselves a little bit more seriously." Read more.

April 3, 2001 - Eminem's record "The Marshall Mathers LP" was rated by Jane magazine records as "the most overrated piece of crap the industry has ever pimped out" in the magazine's annual entertainment poll readers.

April 3, 2001 - Eminem and his brother Nathan were on hand with Kid Rock at the premiere of his movie Joe Dirt. Access Hollywood talked to Robert who explained, "Everybody is in l.A. Jamie Presley, Eminem, Mark McGrath, and everyone. So we said, let's all roll together."

April 1, 2001 - The Orlando Sentinel reports Eminem angered Orlando mayor Bud Asher after he repeatedly shouted obscenities during what was supposed to be a profanity-free show. Asher said, "That’s it; he’s through" and vowed Eminem would never perform in the city again.

April 1, 2001 - Eminem Friday during Black College Reunion performed at the band shell in Daytona Beach, Florida.
