Daily Record talked to a Scottish student named Joy McAvoy who met Eminem
at the Glasgow's Gig On The Green event last weekend. She went on to party
with Eminem at the city's Cube nightclub before returning to his hotel.

28, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports the version of Eminem's 97 Bonnie
and Clyde will be on Tori Amos' new album Strange Little Girls, which features
remakes of a dozen songs made famous by male artists. Amos tells Spin magazine
of the Em track, "This is not about the person called Eminem. I'm seeing
a woman in a victim situation. I'm seeing it as a mother. ... This transcends
Eminem. ... All of the songs [on the album] support the theory that the
view changes depending on where you're standing."
August 28, 2001 - Police
had to temporarily stop an Eminem concert after 45 people were injured
when the audience surged forward as Slim came on stage. Eminem was cooperative
prompting a spokesman for Strathclyde police to remark, "Eminem and his
band did all they could to help the situation and we are grateful for his

Eminem apparently swallowed purple Ecstasy tablets and encouraged young
fans to "smoke weed and get f***ed up" during his concert with his band
D-12 in London, though police say it was actually chewing gum. Read more.

Eminem was joined on stage by Marilyn Manson at the Reading leg of the
Carling Weekend Festival on Saturday where they performed The Way I Am.

the World has a exclusive story from Marshall Mathers II, Eminem's father,
who is pleading to his son saying, "You're convinced I'm a drunk who never
answered any of your letters. Well, I want you to read this and realise
you've been fed lies all your life. Now you'll hear the truth for the first
time." The elder Mathers also says the letters Eminem said he sent him
never got to him, "I've since read interviews where you say you wrote letters
to me and they came back, ‘Return To Sender'. I can say on the word of
God that I didn't receive even one letter from you." Read more.

as he waited to go on stage at the Astoria in London on Thursday night.

reports Eminem talked to Hailie on the phone while in London keeping 30,000

August 23, 2001 - The New
York Daily News reports the NYPD shut down a video shoot by Eminem, LL
Cool J, and Jay-Z in the South Bronx on Saturday as the three didn't have
a permit. They ended up shooting the video in an alternate location at
the subway shuttle platform under Grand Central Terminal on Monday.
August 23, 2001 - Eminem's
grandmother Betty Kresin has told the Daily Record, "I'm so pleased that
my grandson is playing in Scotland as that's where his family is from.
I took great pains to let him know of his ancestry when he was younger,
he should be proud to be part Scottish. I hope he acknowledges his Scottish
roots while he is onstage there." Em's playing in Glasgow soon.

won Video of the Year for Stan at the Source Awards in Miami. Eminem's
performance was pretaped Friday on Watson Island according to Miami.com

reports Debbie Mathers has revealed her son has reduced his drug use saying,
" "Everybody's telling me he's cut down to two or three tabs of Ecstasy
a day. All I can do is pray for my son."

on Eminem's interview with Q magazine as he admits, "Everything that I
am doing right now is for Hailie. The money. The money -- it's for her

a story on top rappers doing albums with their 'posse' including Eminem
and Nelly. Serena Kim, Vibe magazine's music editor said of the projects,
"In general, posse albums tend to be a lot weaker than the star's album.
It's usually about a posse of semitalented people versus a supremely talented

reports Boy George is convinced Eminem is responsible for inciting his
fans into an incident outside a concert in London where a mob chanted Eminem's
anti-gay lines at him. George says, "If the police hadn't been there, I
would've been killed! I've never been so scared."

reports Eminem apparently wants to sample Barbara Dickson's Caravan Song
for his new album.
August 18, 2001 - Beyonce
tells Seventeen magazine she's not sure if Eminem started rumors the two
were a couple but she adds, "I'm not mad at him, I was thinking maybe we
should entertain the rumor."
August 18, 2001 - Add another
artist who'd like to work with Eminem as Nelly Furtado tells Worldpop,
"I'd love to work with Eminem. I think he's a really, really talented vocalist.
He's doing stuff rhythm-wise and flow-wise that hasn't been done before."

talks to Q magazine this month about Hailie admitting, "When I say I'll
murder my baby's mother, maybe I wanted to but I didn't. Anybody who takes
it literally is 10 times sicker than I am."
August 17, 2001 - Blink-182
drummer Travis Barker is set to appear in the next video for D12, though
a spokesperson for D12 at Interscope wouldn't comment on the CDNow report.

reports on November 6, Shady World Productions and Ground-Zero Entertainment
will release The Slim Shady Show on DVD and VHS. The 70-minute show comprises
42 minutes of animation and 28 minutes of other footage in an edited and
unedited format.

reports D12 has been upgraded at the forthcoming Carling Weekend and Gig
On the Green festivals, playing on the main stage instead of the smaller

reports D12 has issued a statement on the Esham assault incident claiming,
"An incident occurred backstage at the Warped Tour, spurred by D12's concern
for the safety of their guests. Both D12 and the other party involved have
been asked to leave the tour. Eminem was home in Detroit and not on tour

reports Tori Amos' version of Eminem's '97 Bonnie & Clyde will be reworked
to come from a women's perspective. Amos reveals, "When you kill your wife,
you can't control who she befriends in the afterlife."
August 8, 2001 - A Macomb
County Judge ruled that Eminem's mother is entitled to only about $1600
of a $25,000 settlement she won against her son, with the remaining $23,354.25
going to her attorney, Fred Gibson. Read more.

from Esham following his run in with D12 as he tells the Detroit Free Press,
"Their only intention was to harm us physically. They didn't come there
to play. I think they were there to sabotage us." An unnamed source countered
the accusation saying, "D12 isn't out to start fights on the road. They
know that they could only lose by doing that. Seeing everything Eminem

Evening Chronicle reports Eminem may have helped a 12 year old girl come
out of a coma after playing Slim's music prompted a dramatic recovery.

August 7, 2001 - Billboard
talked to Esham who suffered a broken nose, ruptured eyeball, concussion
and hearing damage after being assaulted by D12. Esham says, "[Marshall]
Mathers gave the word. This was straight-up attempted murder . . . It got
this bad because those guys idolize us." Police are investigating.
August 7, 2001 - The Sun
reports Bloomingdale's asked Eminem to come up with a display for Enyce,
and he suggested dummy of himself on a toilet surrounded by posters of
Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. A store boss turned down the idea
saying, "The toilet would have been very hip, but not tasteful."

kicked D12 and Esham off the Warped Tour lineup after the two acts were
involved in a scuffle. Interscope spokespeople maintain Eminem was in Detroit

Zealand Herald profiled Eminem and D12 as writer Russell Baillie gives
his insight saying “Effectively, the D12 album helps to extend the already
lengthy shelf life of his own Marshall Mathers LP of last year. And mixing
it with the rough'n'ready crew helps to maintain some hardcore credibility
after his music-industry acceptance, as represented by his duet with Elton

in America who fear legal action by the US government's Federal Communications
Commission if they play it.

Charismatic Renewal Group have launched a petition (July 31) requesting
